So me
I couldn't resist a bargain and bought this wooden pounding bench for $7 in woollies. Clover new exactly what to do. Perhaps she'll make beautiful things just like her Pa and her great grandad :) #subtlebaby
Nanay would be proud. Dinner cooked before lunch :) On the menu: roasted pumpkin, sweet potato (gold and white), carrots and leek with coriander, thyme, olive oil and garlic.
I always feel a bit lost when I have a day to myself. So I wandered around aimlessly in town before caving and decided to have a naughty snack for one. Man the donut is so good! Ps. The sugar is there purely for height balance. (at Lonsdale Street Roasters 7)
I got my period on Thursday which was rather unexpected so I needed to stock up on pads. And I really wanted some non plastic, natural and preferably eco friendly ones. We just happened to be in Mawson to get a catering quote and came across "Let's be natural". I was so excited! Love the store, can't wait to go back. It has everything I want in a beautifully laid out space. They not only had a range of baby products, the kitchen things I've been wanting, a bunch of zafu, lots of food and more. So I got food covers and pads (odd combination I know). I'm considering cloth pads as I've been using cloth liners for over a year now and they're so lovely. Any recommendations?
New toy! We got us a Selphy yesterday and it's so darn cute. When we printed out the very first photo, Clover reached over and pressed cancel. Oops.
Nanay gave Clover birthday money (even though she already bought her wooden blocks when she was last here) so today we went to Dymocks and got these two books I've been eyeing. Plus thought it would be very Nanay if we she "gave" Clover a hairbrush. #subtlebaby
Hers & His. Thanks for the recommendation @offscreenmag :) #howisimplify #spotthelaces #basicwallet

Looks like I have my first customer, my five year old nephew wanting a striped knitting jumper inspired by a crochet pattern. I was going to sneak in some knitting while my parents were hanging around when Matt followed me to the couch, climbs over the arm chair dramatically and plops down (because sitting is over rated) and exclaims "dat's yor knee-ting!" So I showed him the image of Clover's pants. Intrigued, Jacob sits down and asks "can you make something for me?!" I smiled, said sure and gave him the magazine to choose. He beamed. #subtlebaby
I've never been animal person. But man these little dudes are just so cute. And seeing Clover's reaction to them (or maybe their food) was quite sweet too. (at Gunghalin Shopping Centre)
Hot chocolate with coconut milk is so delicious. It's like drinking a bounty. It's awesome I can finally get a hot drink without resorting to soy milk. Go out hipster neighbourhood. (at Elemental)
Pretty psyched to find out that Kathmandu had an A rating on Shop Ethical. It's been really hard to find clothes that have decent rating, that I have been putting off getting clothes for ages. Im still wearing my preggy clothes half the time so it's time for a bit of s change. Hello to future wardrobe. #howisimplify

In high school I did wooden toy making, industrial design, drama, art, music and food studies but I never did textiles. I'm always in awe of handmade things but for some unknown reasons sewing machines terrified me. Perhaps it's the whole not being in control of a crazy, pointy needle. So today I did my first lesson and it wasn't so bad. You can feel the nervous tension as soon as you walked in the room but that changed to "ooh I can do this". By the end of it I had some semi straight lines. Half way through the class I decided to let go of the tension/control/gripping the fabric too tightly and it got easier. Looks like sewing is the king of mindful concentration I need right now. (at CIT Visual Art & Design Fundamentals)
