“Do it or don’t do it - you will regret both.” - Soren Kierkegaard
“I hope to arrive to my death late, in love, and a little drunk.”
— Atticus
The great art of life is sensation, to feel that we exist, even in pain.
Lord Byron (via quotemadness)
I’ve had so many knives stuck into me, when they hand me a flower I can’t quite make out what it is. It takes time.
Charles Bukowski (via quotemadness)
I had nothing to offer anybody except my own confusion.
Jack Kerouac (via bnmxfld)
And if you can’t survive in this world, you had better make a world of your own.
Jeanette Winterson, from Lighthousekeeping (via wishbzne)
The courage it took to get out of bed each morning to face the same things over and over was enormous.
Charles Bukowski (via quotemadness)
i just wanna be your safe place
I have lost control over everything, even the places in my head.
Paula Hawkins (via quotemadness)
Let’s go for it and call today, Day 1!
Well, the last four days would likely satisfy all the requirements of an overwhelming breakdown. Check off all those boxes! So as good a place as any to flip the script and look at is as a breakthrough.
“In order to change, we must be sick and tired of being sick and tired.” - Unknown.
Well, today was that day when a change wasn’t precipitated by optimism or a glee club cheerleading session of awesomeness on the horizon. Rather, it manifested out of an inability to wrestle my shoes on. A fugitive’s angst of seeing an unknown number pop up on my phone. A fatigue so deep seeded that synaptic transmissions are labored.
That’s the kind of tired I’m living.
Although I am not entirely physically ill, I am vomiting uncontrollably from my soul. My spirit lies fetal next to the toilet of life, wretching and pleading for someone to rub a cold compress across my flushed neck.
That’s the kind of sick I’m battling.
...and that’s the kind of motivation that I apparently needed to get my ass in gear!
Simply put, I’ve had enough. My emotional guts are void of bile and the fever of apathy is breaking. It’s a sad version of inspiration, but it’s inspiration nonetheless.
I feel as though tonight I will actually rest tonight.
I pretend I’m not hurt, I walk about the world like I’m having fun.
Lana Del Rey (via quotemadness)
