Such a twisted friendship was something Kanbaru was ready to embrace with all her might — and it would begin here, today, on this occasion.
Thus, the two arrived at a particular coffee shop in short order. The place, although quaint and orderly kept, was by no means inaccessible to the average person; in fact, Kanbaru had stopped by on a couple of occasions simply to sample the scones, and even a person as her who didn’t particularly care one way or the other for spending a lot of money on things like that found the pricing reasonable.
When it came to money, Kanbaru had certain allowances designated for fun, though most of the time she could figure out ways to keep herself occupied for little to no expense.

"Oh, ho, ho, is it my lucky day? Does this mean the morally ambiguous Kamijou-san is going to treat me?"
Said smirk faded into her trademark reassuring smile, one she gave as she placed her left hand on his shoulder.
"I did say I would compensate for the trouble I caused you, did I not, Kamijou-san?"
