Hina was never going to get used to the reality of people addressing her - was she just considered a jinx in this odd realm?
“I believe there was some sort of apothecary just down one of the streets here... Are you not feeling well?”
“Ya ain’t ever partied underground then, have ya’? There’s a whole city down there y’know. Back in Gensokyo, I mean. Hic.”

“A city underground? I can’t say I’ve ever been. It sounds wonderful though, to be honest, I never ventured out of the forest much.”

This place reminded Sanae of her old home. Her… first home.
Granted, it wasn’t filled with grandiose skyscrapers or malevolent beings looking to use you for a social experiment. Nonetheless, it brought about a sense of familiarity and dread that accompanied the feeling of starting back at square one. She had found her way to her assigned room and was sitting idly on her bed. The room wasn’t so bad, but she couldn’t use the computer sitting at her desk. Come to think of it, it had been a while since she’d seen a proper computer…
Room aside, her thoughts wandered back to the situation at hand. It was a bit depressing. Was her time living in Gensokyo borrowed after all? Sanae clutched her gohei to her chest and sighed. She didn’t know why she was here or if anyone else had made the “trip” with her. In fact, she didn’t know anything about this place. At this rate, she’d…
She slapped both hands to her cheeks.
No, Sanae. This isn’t the time to be feeling sorry for yourself. Pull it together! She got up from her bed, briskly walked through the door to her room, into the elevators down, and exited the building. She was going to find out why she was here and if she could find her way home. And barring that, try to make the best of this place. Make her own adventure. That’s at least what living in Gensokyo had taught her.
She walked up to the first person she saw and, with the spark of determination in her eyes, started her investigation.
”Excuse me!! Do you happen to know anything about this city?”
There was only so much time one could spend waiting for an answer before you had to go look for one yourself.
And that’s exactly what Hina intended to do as she made her way through the strange town, teal eyes scanning the extremely foreign surroundings. Hina had never seen anything like it, even on the odd occasion she left the Youkai Forest, the neighboring towns looked nothing like the setting she’d now found herself in.
The curse goddess found herself so immersed in thought that she nearly didn't hear the voice call out to her. She certainly didn't recognize it’s familiarity either, until she turned around and was face to face with Sanae.
“Sanae?” Hina called back, unable to hide her happiness in seeing a familiar face. “You've found yourself here as well I see.... I wish I knew where here was exactly...”
“It sounds like you know little as well... I’m sorry I couldn't be of more help.”

This human had spoken to her? She blinked in surprise, as it had been a long time since she'd had pleasant conversation with someone who wasn't a youkai.
“Is that so?” Hina couldn't hide the disappointment in her voice, releasing a small sigh. “Where... where is here anyways? Nothing seems familiar at all...”
She was getting a strange sense from this man, but her powers had been so dulled down she couldn't quite place it.

Was this human addressing her? She looked around her for confirmation, and with no one else in sight, Hina found her answer. That was rather odd in itself, as most mortals tended to avoid her. His words were just as strange…
“Caffeine? You mean this drink I found? Is that what it’s called?” She glared down at the can in her hand curiously.
“I don’t see what’s so bad about it… I feel like I have so much energy! How could that be bad?”
As the caffeine hit her words began to leave her mouth with increasing speed and the hands that held the can began to shake.

His retort was clean and blunt, very much like him. Sion had no interest in the little people who did not matter to the flow of the Force.
This one, however…this one had potential. Potential and power. It was the only reason the Sith had approached her in the first place. To him, finding sources of power was the primary concern in this city.

Caught up in their own fate.
It was funny how that was often the case for those she had met, and how those were the people who were so quick to blame her for their situations. They were always wrong of course, but neither listening nor being rational was something a human overwhelmed by negative emotion was capable of.
"I suppose you do have a point." The youkai responded in a tiny and sullen voice. "Grief causes the most destruction, not only to oneself but those around them."
A quiet sigh escaped her lips, this was something she had experienced all to well, as she often ended up as the scapegoat to those who were suffering.

The familiar face caused the goddess's own face to break out in a grin - something that rarely occurred for someone who was surrounded by troubles.
"Momiji! Hina's happiness over seeing the tengu couldn't be described, as she felt the unfamiliar setting would have resulted in a familiar lonlieness.
"It's good to see you here... but ah, I'm afraid I'm not too sure where we've ended up."
