Shas'La Xo'on one of my Warhammer 40,000 T'au (alien species) soldiers. He is a Specialist (sharp shooter) ared with a rail rifle. Originally painted back in 2006 for the 4th Edition game, I recently added some more parts and paint to reglect a campaign of Shadow War: Armageddon where he earned a name and the "Gunfighter" skill during the course of the last six games. That would explain the brace of pistols...

Alaska must be having Chinook winds and warm weather again. This always happens up there when 'arctic vortexs' happen.... This is my (still) new home where it doesn't know what it wants to do. Rain, or snow, Mother Nature cannot decide and so gives us both at the same time with temps both above and below freezing to throw us off further. Got to love the Midwest schitzchophrenic weather!
Painting ACU on 15mm tall miniatures... Not easy, but doable if you don't mind leaving out the pixelations... On a shoe string budget I might add using some cheap (in price only) acrylics from Delta. Ivory is providing a good base for adding the dark forest green and nailing the old ACU Universal Pattern after it has been worn for a while in the desert (see my 1:1 reference ACU cover in background).
My first 15mm (1:100 scale) conversion of a miniature. Turning a SEAL DEVGRU miniature into the Team SOTAC/JTAC/ETAC depending upon era of play. Miniatures are 15mm Khurasan http://khurasanminiatures.tripod.com/mod-1.jpg I added the imfamous UHF-AM antenna affectionately known as the "donkey dick" as this is the trademark of anyone who has had to lug a radio capable of talking to US and NATO CAS aircraft.
Scratch built 28mm miniature scale weapons and attempted castings. Scratch built from sheet styrene masters. Found some great mold material you dip in hot water to wrap around the parts. Then you use expoxy putty to make the next series of parts. Pretty neat stuff for small batches! This was 2014 work.
15mm Russian Mechanized Rifles For Ambush Alley/Force on Force or Team Yankee/Flames of War Camo is based on Russian uniforms in the late 1980's to mid-1990's. BMP-1s are based on older green paint prior to use of camo patterns (yeah, and the era of infantry and vehicle are different, but hey, its wargaming, not real history right?).

15mm Late Soviet/Early Russian Federation Mechanized Rifle Platoon for Ambush Alley's "Force on Force" wargame. I referenced later Cold War Russian uniforms, hence the almost BDU patttern camo instead of the older khaki with red shoot me shoulder tabs, for the infantry. Obviously, there is a progression of my process here. Now my my 1:100 scale/15mm platoon is ready for the game table.
Because I can... I wonder how much it would kill my battery to use a USB hub. Can't do this with the iPad. Oh, and that Waco based s-pen rocks the Sketchbook and ArtRage apps....
The frustrating thing about The Neverhood is that its simple beauty belies its malformation.
This is a 1996 review of The Neverhood where it earned a 4.9. It was uniformly rejected by the major media at the time and yet the game found a world wide audience. It’s baffling how 15-20 years later it enjoys a 9.3 rating from MetaCritics. The game sales were financially devastated by the negative buzz and is why we didn’t do a point and click sequel and went with a butt-bouncing platformer like Skullmonkeys instead (also largely dismissed by critics). We could not get a point-and-click sequel approved because publishers listened to critics who don’t understand the appeal of the game they’re reviewing until twenty years pass. Long ago, I learned to stop listening to my critics and listen to the game fans instead.
History lesson, and a lesson about critics...
