It is one thing to know that there was a dead girlfriend -- an explanation, not an excuse, for some of Johannes's cold nature and sharp tongue. It is entirely another to find (through the act of following one's nosey curiousity) said dead girlfriend hidden beneath the not-so-secret mad science laboratory.

Darcy stands in the doorway, her breath and heart stopped. Like a princess, she finds Bernice encased in a glass coffin, arranged as if she were simply sleeping and not... dead.

Dead for decades, if Darcy had the math right.

Not that he has been her professor (she has already finished her classes with him last semester, thankfully), but as a forbidden target of her more devious desires.

Already, Dani has planted one errant Airpod behind his desk, still connected to her phone. As long as she stands on the street, she can hear whatever happens in his home -- and that, already, is too much, too dangerous. The connection would be easy to prove, should she ever follow through.

This is a cute date thing, right? Like, normal couples (are they a couple? Darcy isn't entirely too sure) bake together all the time, she's sure.

Maybe not her mom and dad, but Ma would get annoyed with her dad's bulk in the kitchen and lovingly send him away with a spoon to lick. It happens plenty in movies, though.

And movies wouldn't lie to her.

But having Grogu in his life had illustrated the need for something softer when dealing with others, and so he tilts his head as an indication of his thoughtfulness, rather than being obtusely direct.

Socializing was a skill that had been missed in Rabbit's education.
