Races of Aurora
The people of  Aurora are incredibly diverse. Some very rare intelligent humanoids exist in small numbers and there are five predominant races.
Humans
Standard humans are still diverse depending on their origin and many of them possess magical talents that can be honed to exceptional levels.
Mutos
Legend states that Mutos are descended from a small human tribe that believed everyone was connected to a specific animal that would help guide them through life. When the tribe elders feared they would be destroyed by another ambitiously expanding tribe, they sought spiritual strength. The tribe performed an extended and complex mass ritual that allowed them to transform into gargantuan and terrifying versions of animals. They defended their land and people viciously when they were soon attacked as they had feared. Seven days after the ritual, the transformation was reversed and there seemed to be no residual effects. The next generation to be born however, possessed features of animals.
Modern Mutos continue to be born with animal features such as; ears, tails, scales, feathers, eyes, horns, and other possibilities. The features are generally minor, but some powerful mutos can learn to transform. They are limited to one animal but many forms are possible including; a complete average sized version of their animal, a much more animalistic humanoid, and even monstrous, oversized forms.
Base stat modifiers are dependent on animal.
Vampyres
Auroran Vampyres are a very long lived race with special abilities that allow them to nourish themselves and heal through the blood and energy of other creatures. They have a racial predilection towards being tall and lean by human standards and are usually considered attractive, but it would be theoretically possible  for a vampire and human to look identical.
All vampyres can convert blood into energy just like any food. Feeding on another being's energy and speeding up their own healing processes, are more advanced skills. Â Energy feeding is closely tied to singular emotions and an individual would have to tap into one at a time. For example, itâs rare to find a vampyre who can feed on strong feelings of lust and also sadness. While no type of feeding is harmful in small doses, all can have nasty side effects if the same being is fed on too much without time to recover.
With as long lived as Vampyres are, they have developed a reputation for being culturally advanced. Although many distrust them for their abilities, they are well respected in the arts and many have adopted Patrons, a pseudo-religious system revolving around personifications of various pursuits, crafts, and concepts.
Lower endurance, countered by healing abilities.
Kinderlune
Kinderlune are a monochromatic people. Their skin, hair, and eyes come in any shade from black to white and sometimes can have a shimmery quality, referred to as âmoon-kissedâ They are usually a bit large by human standards. The kinderlune tend to be a hard working people that value strength and simple pursuits such as farming. Most kinderlune follow a religion centering on âMother Moonâ and the divine sisters of the moon. This has created a culture where women are prized and followed, while men are considered more useful for menial tasks.

Pyx-Kynn
Arguably the most colorful of Aurorites, are the Pyx-Kynn, pigmented in cool blue, green, and violet tones . They tend to be on the small wiry side, falling around four to five and a half feet tall normally. Their pointed ears have led many to believe the people have a fae origin, although a pyx can have points much longer than the pixies they are compared to. Pyx-kynn also have a long thin, tufted tail, similar to a lion.
Pyx-kynn have a penchant for nomadic life, which garners some distrust and accusations of theft or other unscrupulous activities. Often a pyx that decides to settle in one place for extended periods is viewed completely differently and thus pyx settlements are generally considered very safe, welcoming places to visit. As a people they are well known for creative pursuits and recently, delicate machinery. Pyx-kynn were the first to discover that mechanical creations could become imbued with a spirit, as pyx naturally have an easier time communicating with all spirits.
Max 4 strength and endurance, +1 dexterity and spirit at creation.
