Have fun with her. Don’t try fool me with your love-sick Facebook statuses and endless Instagram posts. I know she doesn’t laugh at your jokes like I did. I know she isn’t willing to not get any rest just to talk to you. I know she hasn’t stayed up till two in the morning on FaceTime with you, laughing so hard you drool. I know she isn’t fiercely protective over you and I know she’ll never care like I did. Don’t try fool me and say you never loved me. I was the closest thing to love you’ve ever felt. And you’re scared of love. You were intimidated, so you left and found someone else who wouldn’t make you feel the burning fire in your heart. That’s why I didn’t get hurt over you. I understand you too well.

A sad feeling fills my heart when he tells me that I’m his person because I know the truth. I know that this will end. Eventually I will break his heart or he will break mine. I know that this will be over and I still can’t seem to bring myself to end it now to spare myself or him the trouble. It’s because it’s addictive to have someone smile every time they see you. It’s addictive to be able to make someone laugh. It’s addictive to be perfect in someone’s eyes. It’s addictive to have someone.
