One thing about Aerion I wish more people got right is that... That boy does NOT shout. He is very secure in sense of superiority. He is delusional and will throw tantrums but the whole time his voice will not rise a single octave. The only time he shouts in akotsk is when to tells dunk to yield during the trial and that's the only time his voice feels out of control. Im sorry but he is a nonchalant ragebaiter there's no other way to describe him.

I still can't believe that the show had Maekar desperately scream for Aerion in the trial, call him "my boy", then sit in Aerion's bedroom to watch over him as he sleeps. Like, they really did that. Literally exactly what I wanted, they plucked it from my brain and put it on screen. They did that for me and I'm so grateful.

Kwei was literally Dek’s dad though. It’s very heavily implied that he was parentified at a young age bc Dek was ignored in his favour, but ironically, I think that parentification actually saved their relationship. Kwei and Dek are as close as they are bc Kwei took on the brunt of raising his baby brother, training him, teaching him everything, and Dek was receptive, following his brother’s lead. Hell, Kwei went as far as to try and forbid Dek from going to Genna, despite not technically having that authority. Who knows how their dynamic would turn out if Kwei didn’t feel like it was his responsibility to look out for Dek…
