10 REASONS TO ADOPT A PET
You save a life.
The cost of adoption is less than buying a pet.
Most shelter animals have had medical treatment and are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date with vaccines.
There are more unique pets to choose from in shelters. Age, breeds, mixed breeds, and personality choices are greater.
Many are already trained.
Your bed is pre-warmed on cold winter nights.
Animals are just ready to love you, no matter what.
Adopting from a shelter opens a cage for another pet who needs a new forever home.
An adult pet takes the guess work out of determining size, thickness of coat, and energy level.
Mixed breeds are unique compared to purebreeds and may have less genetically inherited health problems.
Take this quiz to find out which dog is right for you!
Please adopt some lovely doggos
As someone who just adopted a third doggo from the shelter, please do it if you can find a dog right for you. Those shelters do everything they can to keep them alive, but it’s a family that keeps them happy.
Okay, but is there a quiz for which shelter kitty I should get?
@c-tea-rex good u asked, yes!!! sorry I forgot to add that one, anyway here is it
What Breed of Cat should you get?

We adopted this floof from the shelter a few months ago, he’s an older gent which means he was less likely to get adopted 😢 but LOOK AT THAT COZY LITTLE FLUFFBALL NOW ❤️
I got this guy when he was 8 months old. When I got him he was terrified of water, men, riding in the car, larger dogs, and when I would raise my voice. He turns 4 this August (we guess his birthday by how old he was when we got him) And he now gets up to his knees in the water, his much larger brother (the chocolate lab) is his best friend, he LOVES to ride in the car and go places, and he isn’t as scared of men anymore. He is literally my best friend.

wild how people had a lot of feelings about an empty building burning down in paris but when the lives of over a hundred sudanese civilians are taken in a massacre, most of the internet wants to stay mute. y’all cried legit tears over a piece of white history being on fire but turn the other cheek when african lives are being taken violently.
I cannot even begin to imagine how hurtful it must be for children of rape, kids in foster care, and people with disabilities to hear over and over and OVER again that they’re the exception. That THEY are the people who everyone uses to argue why abortion is okay. They are always the people who are told it’s okay if they don’t live because they’re a burden. GOD ABOVE HELP US, YOU MATTER. If no one else tells you, I’m telling you now you’re WORTH fighting for, you’re WORTH IT. You deserve to be alive. You’re just as precious and valuable and beautiful as anyone else and I pray with all my heart that you never forget that.
I am *horrified* by Alabama and Georgia banning access to safe abortion.
Abortion is the most common out-patient medical procedure in this country. 1 in 4 women will have one. Yet our experiences, our lives, our ability to make well-thought-out decisions are so utterly meaningless to the white supremacist capitalist patriarchy that a medical procedure SO MANY of us have need of has been banned.
It is terrifying to exist as a woman in the United States. I need the men in my life to take a moment to breathe that in and sit with it for a minute. Here, in the United States, it is terrifying to exist as a woman. To be hated and degraded and dismissed and distrusted so much.
To my sisters (and trans and non-binary comrads) in Alabama and Georgia, I feel your fear. I feel your rage. I stand beside you. They think they can treat us this way, but we know the strength it takes to rise and as we rise up together we will show them the consequences of underestimating our strength and solidarity.

Seeing so may posts of everyone prepping for Ramadhān. I feel so comforted subhanallah. Ramadhān is such a beautiful time, it’s the month of peace. It’s the month of safety. It’s the month where we rectify ourselves. It’s the month of chances. Subhanallah. I pray everyone tastes the pleasure and sweetness of this holy month. No matter how far you’ve gone, Ramadhān is always your chance. Don’t waste it.
