Wait you guys…since I’m not that good at writing what if I got someone who was good at it to write all of my ideas for me like a mangaka and the manga writer or like both of us write it together 👀👀👀👀 if anyone’s interested and can write long chapters hmu ❤️
I don’t have my laptop with me and writing on my phone is really difficult (for fanfics at least) and I’d rather give you guys a longer and higher quality chapter than a short one just so I can get something out.
I won’t be home until Sunday so next chapter probably won’t be out until Monday or Tuesday.
I’m genuinely so sorry for everyone looking forward to Chapter 5.
The date is 2017. Takemichi has gone back 12 years into the future after accidentally shaking hands with Naoto on Hinata's apartment complex roof. They've been researching sleeplessly for about three consecutive days on how to get back in contact with Mikey so Takemichi can talk to him and ask what went wrong with Toman. To him, it was just so out of Mikey's personality (from what he knew) for him to kill and hurt people so mercilessly.
Meeting Akkun was a complete, traumatizing failure but they had to get some sort of info so they could find out how to change the past in order to save Hinata and now Akkun from their deaths. Takemichi sighed "If only Draken were alive." He rested his chin on his knees. "Are you talking about Ken Ryuguji?" Naoto turned around in his desk chair to look at Takemichi who hummed "Mhm." to his question. "Did you research him?"
Naoto then turned back around to his laptop and began typing something. "I did. This is the new story." He pulled up a news article. "On August 3rd, 2005, in the parking lot of Musashi Shrine in the Shibuya Ward of Tokyo, 50 members of a biker gang were involved in a brawl. A young man in his third year of middle school was beaten and stabbed in the abdomen. He later died." Takemichi gasps. "Some of these posts here mention an internal struggle,and according to them, there was a bitter strife between the Mikey faction and the Draken side. Resulting in Ryuguji's death. It also says that a second year middle school girl was arrested for stabbing him. Her name was Tomoko Kawamaso."
Takemichi's eyes widened at Naoto's words. "Huh?! Tomoko stabbed Draken?! That's insane! It must be wrong! And, hang on a sec! August 3rd is only two weeks away!" He pointed out the date. "Correct, but 12 years ago." Naoto confirmed. "A fight between Mikey and Darken? Tomoko stabbed him? There's gotta be some kind of mistake." Naoto hummed for him to continue. "Draken understands Mikey like nobody else. They're like brothers! The idea of them fighting is loony! And Tomoko would never hurt anyone! She's way too nice for that!" Takemichi clenches his fists.
"So you think there's more to it?" Naoto hears him out but Takemichi's confidence goes away for a second. "Well, I-I don't know. I just know Mikey could never be Draken's enemy and I also know that Tomoko would never hurt anyone. I've known her half of my life!" Naoto processes his words before responding."Maybe you could get in contact with her like you did Sendo so we can figure out if she stabbed Ryuguji or not." Takemichi nods. "Something had to have happened. Let's go back to my place."
Once they go back to Takemichi's disgusting apartment he gets out his phone book and looks up Tomoko's name. "Here! I found it!" He lifts up the book happily. "Well, call her." Naoto crosses his arms and Takemichi nods while dialing the number into his phone. "Tomoko! Hey! How uh, have you been?"

"Hanamichi! It's been forever since I last saw you!" Naoto and Takemichi step into her clean, decent sized apartment. There's not much in it but it's cozy. "Hey Tomoko.." Takemichi gulps. He's not sure how to ask her so Naoto does. "Were investigating the Tokyo Manji gang and found a news article saying you killed Ken Ryuguji. We want to know why." He says straight forward. Tomoko tilts her head "Who's that?" Tomoko's face contorts into confusion. "Draken! Mikey's second in command! Don't you remember him? You know what Toman is right?" Takemichi put his hands on her shoulders. "Of course I know what Toman is. My brother’s in it but Mikey? I'm not sure who that is...sorry."
Tomoko starts to feel uncomfortable. They're naming all these random people and claiming she killed one of them. "Come on Tomo! You met Mikey and Draken on the day I fought Kiyomasa! You know them! Mikey called you Tommy! Remember?!"
Takemichi starts to shake her profusely. "Let go of me! I don't know what you're talking about!" She backs away from both of them looking fearful. "Get out of my apartment...I don't know what happened the years I haven't seen you but keep it away from me." She says with a wavering voice. "Tomoko I–" Takemichi tries to explain himself but is cut off by her. "Get out!" They both exit, leaving Tomoko to herself.

Both of them go back to Naoto's apartment. "Well, it is an absolute fact that Ryuguji died that day. Let's look into it some more. Today is July 19th, so we have two weeks. We need to find out how he died, then on August 3rd you'll save Ryugiji and find out who tried to kill him. That's your mission this time."
"Manjiro Sano apparently changed after Ryuguji's death. Your friend Sendo committed suicide because he was afraid of Tetta Kisaki, Kawamaso somehow lost all memory of Sano and Ryuguji. And because Toman became vicious and evil, they killed my sister Hinata."
Naoto rises from his seat, look at Takemichi. "If you're successful, then we can save all of them." Takemichi looks nervous, doubting his capabilities. "Save Draken and Akkun and Hina and Tomoko?" Naoto believes in him though. "That's right." Takemichi gives him a unconfident smile. "We've got the perfect solution then." He puts out his hand for Naoto to take. "I'm going to save Draken, no matter what!" Naoto returns his smile. "You can do it." He says before grabbing Takemichi's hand and sending him back into the future.

"Man. I sure am tired as hell. Wanna get something to eat after this?" Tomoko sits on a bench at Musashi shrine awkwardly. Around her are a whole bunch of guys she doesn't know from Toman. One moment she was buying some more cat food for Momo then Draken called her and told her to come. If she knew the entirety of Toman was gonna be there then she would've taken her time getting there until Takemichi arrived.
"I have a limit to how many unfamiliar people I can be around without a friend..." She said quietly to herself. She knows Takemichi and Hina are here now at least but...'WHAT'S THE POINT OF THEM BEING HERE IF I CAN TALK TO THEM?!' Tomoko eternally cries. She could just get up and look for them but she doesnt wanna look like a loser in front of all these gangsters! That would just put a huge target on her back and then they'd be all like "Haha! What a loser! She must be easy to beat up! Let's get her!" and then after they kick her ass Mikey would look at her like "Wow. You're so weak. I'd never date you." and then she'd die.
"This sucks..." Tomoko sighed before looking up the shrine stairs where she saw her saving grace. Takemichi. She jumped up from the bench and started going towards him. "Hanamichi! Where the heck have you been?" She finally makes it beside him. "Tomoko? They invited you too?" He looks at her surprised. "Mhm! I wonder what they want." Takemichi nods in agreement. "Me too."
The Tokyo Manji gang meeting has begun. "I brought you here today to talk about Mobius." Mikey says, standing tall at the top of the staircase with Draken close behind him. "If they go up against us, it'll mean war." Out of the corner of her eye Tomoko can see Takemichi flinch at the mention of war. "So. I wanna know what you all think." Just then someone kicks Takemichi in his back, knocking him to the ground. "Hey! What the hell? What'd you do that for?"
Takemichi looks at the culprit who's a very tall and lanky guy with a brown buzz cut. "Problem?" The guy tilts his head at Takmeichi. "You're that Hanagaki punk right?" The boy behind him says. He's a very proportionate looking guy with light blonde hair. "Youre the little shit who put our boss Kiyomasa put outta commission, huh?" The one who kicked him speaks up again with anger evident in his voice. "Yeah, and I'm thinking you're gonna have to pay for that." The busty guy adds on.
"Kiyamasa put himself out of commission." Tomoko rolls her eyes at the two boys' behavior. "Don't be mad at Takemichi for your boss's own stupid mistake." Both of them, including Takemichi, look at her. "Who the hell are you? His girlfriend–" Before he can continue another member of the gang comes up behind him. "Back off, Pah. You know full well we're supposed to drop the whole Kiyomasa issue now. Since he used Toman's name to promote his little fight club."
The bustly one who she assumes is Pah turns to look at the member who scolded him. "Huh? Well, I'm stupid I guess, 'cause I don't know what any of that means!" Pah shouts at him. 'What?' "Yeah, remember, Pah has the brains of a sand flea!" 'What..?' "Who asked for your opinion, you dipshit!" Just then she heard Draken. "Hey, Pah. Keep your mouth shut." He looked over his shoulder at Pah. "Sorry, Draken." Pah quietly apologized and the two of them grumbled away. "Dont hold it against him you two. Pah's just pretty pissed off right now." Draken turned his attention to Tomoko and Takemichi. "Hes sorta out of control isn't he?" Takemichi asked Draken while watching Pah and his friend push through the crowd and Tomoko nodded, agreeing with him. "His best bud got worked over by Moebius. That's what ignited all of this." Takemichi and Tomoko both tilt their heads in confusion. "Huh? What do you mean? What happened?" Takemichi asked him.
"It was Osanai. He's the leader of Moebius and a rough dude. Pah's pal crossed him and got the shit beat out of him, then they raped his girlfriend right in front of him. To top it all off, they took all his money, and then later they beat up his parents and siblings too." Tomoko covered her mouth in disgust and shock.
She knew not every gang leader would be like Mikey and they do that kind of thing all the time but...hearing about it in person is so much more of a reality check. "Thats just the way the whole Moebius gang operates. They're two generations above our gang and they run Shinjuku." He explains then Takemichi talks. "What? I thought Toman ran this whole area."
"Toman runs Shibuya. Shinjuku is separate. And our whole gang is relatively a new one." Their attention goes back to Mikey. "Well then, Pah. War?" Pah kneels and thinks for a second before responding. "Moebius are experienced fighters. Some of Toman's guys aren't gonna survive, and I'd be making you guys fight my battle...But I'm too pissed off to let it go." Mikey looks down at him. "But that's not what I was asking you. Are we gonna fight or not?" He says with a completely serious face. "Yes I wanna fight! I wanna murder all those sons of bitches!" Pah finally gives the answer Mikey was looking for. "Thought so. Anyone here think Pah's beef with Moebius is too much for us to deal with?" He asks the rest of the gang.
"No way!"
"Come on!"
"Anyone here scared of getting beat up?" He asks the gang again. "Anyone scared of Moebius?" Both times they all answered the same way. With an array of no's. "There, you see? Moebius is gonna fall!" Mikey shouts and all the members raise their fists to the sky. "August 3rd, at the Musashi Festival! That's where it's all gonna go down!"
After the meeting ended all the Toman members drove away on their bikes except for Mikey and Draken who stayed behind to talk about something. 'Stop being such a wuss Tomoko! You've talked to boys before!' Tomoko takes a deep breath before walking over to the pair. "Hey, uhm Mikey?" She manages to say and Mikey turns to look at her. "Yeah?"
'AHHHHHH! I can't do it!' "I was wondering if you wanted to come with me to the festival on the 3rd. My brother was supposed to take me but he had last minute plans..." Mikey looks up to think then nods. "Sure, I can take you. It's gotta be before 11pm though." Tomoko beams with happiness. "Great! I'll be there pretty early so it's not too crowded. Is 8pm a good time?" She asks him and he nods again. "Fine with me." Tomoko then smiled and turned to walk away. Her face was completely flushed.
When she finally got home she was giggling about her soon coming date. Her brother looked at her with a turned expression. "What are you so giddy about?" He asked her with a slight smirk like he already knew. "Is it a boy?" He teased her. "It's none of your business." She crossed her arms then went to her room, her cheeks starting to ache from smiling so much.
Kiyomasa strikes Takemichi with another strong punch to his gut. Tomoko covers her eyes to blind herself from the fight ahead. No…this isn't a fight. It’s a one way beating and Takemichi is on the wrong side of it. “Gah..!” another punch, this time to his face. The match just started and Takemichi already looks like he's about to fall over.
Kiyomasa continues to punch Takemichi all over. Each blow was like a gunshot to his body. ‘He’s gonna die…Takemichi is gonna die!’ Tomoko’s eyes were as wide as the sky itself. She had to do something, but what? “That’s enough, Takemichi!” Yamagishi called out for him in a futile attempt to save his friend. “You’re seriously gonna die!” “Takemichi! Just stop!”
“Haa… I ain’t done yet.” Takemichi smirked, fueled with determination before he spoke again, angrier this time. “This ain’t enough… to cure my weak-ass heart of the past twelve years!”
‘Oh no! His brain must be rattled or something!’
“I can’t turn back!” He completely started to shut out his friends’ pleas now. “I have a reason why… I can’t turn back!” He took a few short breaths to prepare his lungs for another shout. “Kiyomasa of the Tokyo Manji Gang… If you wanna win, you’re gonna have to actually kill me.” He finally spoke and it was the dumbest thing Tomoko has ever heard. He’s really gonna kill himself over this stupid fight? “Heh… I ain’t gonna lose!” Kiyomasa looked down on him and spit out his cigarette with a furious aura around him. “Bring me my bat!” He called out to his goons. ‘What!? A fucking bat!? He’s gonna beat him with a bat!?’
Tomoko’s legs moved faster than her brain could as she ran in front of Takemichi as a shield. Kiyomasa’s fist stopped right at her face, inches away from giving her a matching bruise with Takemichi. “Tomoko…? What are you doing!?” Takemichi behind her stared in shock and awe but she ignored him and her other friends’ shouts at her. ‘He wouldn’t hit a girl right..?’ “T-takemichi is an idiot…he probably didn't think before he challenged you so…please stop–” Her words were cut short by Kiyomasa’s knuckles making contact with her cheek. Her legs went numb, her eyes started to blur, and her brain rattled in her head from the impact. “Don’t stand in my way bitch!” Kiyomasa yelled while looking down at her.
The world around her went silent as her body fell back. She’d never been punched a day in her life…this is what it felt like?! And people do this for fun!? A strong metallic taste began to enter her mouth.
“No way..did he just hit a girl?”
“That’s crazy!”
“That’s what she gets for jumping into a man’s fight.”
her cheek began to turn purple and swell, she was regretting going down there. “Hey, Kiyomasa.” A deep, masculine voice came from behind Kiyomasa. It was a tall, lean guy with long blonde hair tied into a braid. The sides were shaved bald showing off a black dragon tattoo on his right temple. ‘Cool…’ “You’re scarin’ the crowd. Calm down, dumbass.” He spoke again, hands lazily in his pockets. “The Vice Commander of the Tokyo Manji Gang… Ryuuguji Ken! A.K.A. Draken!” She heard Akkun say to himself.
“Hey, Ken-chin.” The shorter, younger looking guy behind him called out while he chewed on something. He had crumbs on his cheek too. “Wha? Don’t call me by that stupid nickname here.” Draken grimaced. “I’m out of dorayaki.” He pouted like a small child.
Tomoko felt confused and shocked on why Kiyomasa was actually listening to them. Obviously the Draken guy is the vice commander of that gang or whatever but neither of them looked that strong…just then all the guys in the stands bowed a full 90 degrees down. “Good day, Commander, sir!” They all chanted in perfect unison. ‘That kid is the commander..? What a crappy gang…’
“Mikey! I’m in biker gang #3! My name is Akaishi!” Kiyomasa’s 2nd in command tried to talk to him but Mikey just walked right past him without the slightest glance. “You’re in the way. Mikey doesn’t talk to guys he’s not interested in.” Draken acts as Mikey's words while he passes Akashi as well and follows Mikey towards Kiyomasa. “Ah… S-Sorry about that…”
They both reach Kiyomasa with Mikey still in front "Good day, sir.” Kiyomasa gives a half assed bow which was a bad idea. She can see Draken’s face change before he knees Kiyomasa in the stomach for the disrespect. “Kiyomasa, who died and made you king?” Draken looks down at him like he did to Tomoko and Takemichi. “Make sure you’re that far down when bowing to our commander.” Kiyomasa choked out a quiet ‘Yes sir’ before Draken left to catch up with his commander.
Mikey stopped in front of Tomoko and Takemichi and squatted in front of him. “Hey, what’s your name?” He asked Takemichi, who was sitting on the ground in front of him, sweating profusely. “H-hanagaki Takemichi!” He finally blurted out. Mikey nodded then looked over at Tomoko. “And yours?” She didn't expect him to ask her. “Huh? Oh… My name is Kawamaso Tomoko.” She answered quickly. “Alright, Tommy and Takemitchy.” Mikey smiled and Tomoko’s eyebrows furrowed. “Who’s Tommy?” “That's you.” “My name is Tomoko.” Draken then butted in. “If Mikey says your name’s Tommy then it’s Tommy.” She quieted down. Not because she's submitting, she's just kind of scared of Draken even if she thinks he’s a little cool.
“Takemitchy, Tommy. Starting today, you’re my friends, all right?” Mikey put a hand on both of their shoulders and smiled before standing up and walking back over to Kiyomasa leaving both of the teens shocked. “Are you the one running these matches?” Mikey asks Kiyomasa, his smile still present but with a sinister aura to it. “Y-yes.” Kiyomasa stuttered, clearly thinking Mikey was gonna praise him. “Are you the one who punched that girl too?” Before Kiyomasa could answer, Mikey lifted his leg up high and kicked Kiyomasa square in the chin. ‘Cool!’ Mikey then grabs Kiyomasa by the hair and punches him hard on the cheek like he did to her. “Who the hell are you?” Mikey says before he starts repeatedly punching Kiyomasa, his smile long gone.
After about a minute of beating, Mikey finally lets go of Kiyomasa’s hair and his body tumbles to the ground. “Okay, then. Let’s get going, Ken-chin. Taking bets at this little fight club is lame.” He starts walking away from Kiyomasa's body and towards Draken and they walk out just as quickly as they entered.
Before fully leaving Mikey turns to look at Tomoko and Takemitchi “Takemitchy…Tommy. See you later.” He waves goodbye to them. “Y’all wake up and scram already.” Draken says to the crowd of stunned boys and just like that the commander and vice commander are gone.

That night the whole group is at the park playing around. Yamagishi and Makoto won't stop staring at Tomoko and Takemichi “That was awesome, Takemichi!” Yamagishi beams “I was there too y’know!” They ignore her and Makoto adds onto Yamagishi’s words. “I was totally moved!” Takemichi just looks at them confused “Huh?” Is all he can manage to say. “Invincible Mikey totally took a liking to you!” “That’s friggin’ awesome, Takemichi!” They both continued to praise him while ignoring Tomoko. “Guess you’re “Takemitchy” from now on.” Yamagishi put his chin between his thumb and index finger and made a playful smirk. “That’s what Mikey said, Takemitchy.” Makoto copies Yamagishi’s pose then they both laugh. “Gah! So cool!” They said in unison.
“Alright then…I guess I'll have to get Mikey to call the entire gang to beat you guys up.” Tomoko mutters just loud enough for them to hear. “No need to do that Tommy-senpai!” Yamagishi says which only irritates her more. “Don’t call me that!” “Calm down Tommy-senpai! We mean no harm.” Makoto teases her further so she punches both of them in the back of the head. “My name is Tomoko!”

The next morning Tomoko sat in class like usual. Life is back to being normal. Her friends aren't getting beat up anymore and she doubts Mikey will actually talk to her or Takemichi again. That thought is a little sad since she totally has a crush on him now.
Her sadness is quickly interrupted by the sound of commotion outside of her class room. “What school are you bastards from?!” She hears one of the third years yell “Get the hell out!” Everyone in her class turns their heads towards the door and some get up to see what's happening. Tomoko follows and peaks her head out to see Draken and Mikey walking on the backs of about 12 third years and Takemichi trailing beside them on the actual floor.
Mikey spots her though the door and waves “Yo, Tommy.” she flinches then clams back down. She waves back at him and walks out of the classroom to go over to the three of them. “What are you guys doing here?” She asks, looking at both of them nervously. “We came to get you two of course.” Draken says as they finally get off the backs of the third years. “Oh.” The two of them began to talk about Toman but she wasn't paying any attention. ‘Mikey really came back for me? Hehe. He must like me or something…I mean I am kinda popular.’
Takemichi, Mikey, and Draken make their way to the shoe lockers. Draken puts his arm around Takemichi’s shoulder. “You two been good?” He asks both of them. “We just saw each other yesterday…” Takemichi says quietly. “You guys are free today, right?” Mikey questions. By now a huge crowd of students have gathered behind them to get a look at the scene. “Actually, I’m not–” Takemichi tries to say when Tomoko cuts him off. “I am!” She beams excitedly like a puppy getting a treat for doing the bare minimum. “Come hang out with us anyway.” Mikey pushes, trying to convince Takemichi. “Huh? Mikey, are you listening to me?” Takemichi continues to sweat pools.
“Wait!” Behind them, Hinata stomps in their direction looking angry. “Hina? What are you doing–” She slaps Mikey across the face stunning everyone in the hallway and grabs Takemichi’s wrist looking at Tomoko. “Let’s go, Takemichi. Don’t let these people bully you.” Tomoko looks around confused on why Hina looked at her. Hinata knows who Tomoko is. They're friends! Right? Before anyone knew it Hinata rose her hand and slapped Mikey hard against his cheek.
Draken then grabs Hinata by the arm looking furious. “Hey, don’t make me kill you, brat. You slap him outta nowhere, and now you’re peacing out? Who the hell do you think you are?!” Hinato looks back at him full of sass “Who do you think you are? You just waltz into a school you don’t go to and try to take him by force. That’s not something friends do! Takemichi has been injured all the time lately. And if that’s because of you… I’m going to put a stop to it!”
Takemichi lays his hand on Draken's shoulder. “Let go of her.” He managed to choke out despite his fear. “What was that? I don’t think I heard you clearly!” Draken put a hand behind his ear and Tomoko zoned out since she knew nothing would happen. Why would they save both of them then beat them up? That makes no sense. ‘Look at us…just standing here together being all quiet. We’re clearly perfect for each other! I’ll wait till I know he likes me back then I’ll tell him how I feel…’
“Aw… And I thought we could be friends. Now the question is… how do you want to die?” Mikey gives Takemichi a scary looking death stare. “Just don’t ever lay a finger on Hina!” Takemichi braces himself for a punch as Mikey pulls back to swing. ‘Only Hina? What about me..? I shouldn't be selfish! Hina’s the one in trouble.’ “What? Like I care.” Mikey's fist was inches away from hitting Takemichi before he started laughing “Kidding!” He put his arm down. “Jeez, you’re so gullible, Takemitchy.” Mikey walks off. “Like I’d ever hit a girl.”
Tomoko leaves the three of them to talk and goes over to Hinata. “Hina..? I-uhm…” ‘How am I supposed to casually ask my friend if she still likes me?’ “You were really brave back there.” She gives Hina a small smile and Hina returns it. “Who exactly are those guys?” She asks Tomo. “Theyre just some friends me and Hanamichi met.”
After that whole ordeal the group went outside where Hina apologized to Mikey and Draken. “It’s fine to do what you can for the one you like, but don’t push yourself too much. Things can go really wrong, depending on who you’re dealing with.” Mikey warned her and she nodded with understanding. “Okay, I’m gonna go.” Hinata started to walk off while waving to them. “Uh, sure… Wait, what about our date?!” Takemichi panicked. “We can do that another time. Your friends came to see you, after all.” Hinata finally went back into the school. “Bye-bye! Don’t slap me in the face next time!” Mikey waved at her. “She seems nice. It’s rare to find someone like her. Make sure you take good care of her.”
‘What…He thinks she's nice? I’m nice too! What am I talking about…It’s just Hinata. She’s already dating Takemichi. Am I jealous of my own friend…? No way.’ Tomoko takes a deep breath to calm down.

In the late afternoon. Takemichi and Draken bike along a path. Mikey sits on the back seat of Takemichi’s bike and Tomoko is on the back of Draken’s “Say… Mikey.” Takemichi speaks up. “So, uh… Why did you take a liking to us?” Mikey looks up at the sky and responds “What a dumb question.” There's a moment of silence before he talks again. “Well… I have a brother who’s ten years older than me. He’s dead now.” Takemichi lets out a grunt of surprise before Mikey continues. “He was totally reckless. He had no problem picking fights with guys way stronger than him.” Tomoko begins to wonder. “What about me?” She asks him, feeling a little excited to know what he thinks of her. “Hm…” Mikey looks up for a second. “I dunno. You were just kinda there.” “Oh…”
They all stop at a hill facing the sunset over the river. Mikey and Draken lay on the grass and Tomoko sits beside them. Takemichi stands at the back. “Nowadays, people just think delinquents are lame. When my big bro was alive, there were so many biker gangs around here. You could always hear their super-loud bikes as they went by. They all acted super tough. They fought all the time. But they always cleaned up their own messes. What’s so lame about that? Draken sat up. “There are plenty of guys who are good at fighting. But you know… Standing up to anyone for something you won’t give up? There aren’t many guys like you.” Mikey and Draken make their way back to their bikes. “Think about it, Takemitchy.” Draken says before they both leave.
“Hey Takemichi, I'm gonna go too. See you tomorrow.” Tomoko says to her friend but he's already lost in thought. She sighs then leaves as well. “Huh? Where’d Tomoko go?”
It's an early morning in Tomoko's house, she's been thinking for days nonstop about her friends. 'Ever since that day at Hina's house the guys have been acting weird. I think they're getting bullied...' Tomoko's head races through all the possibilities and reasons why they would be acting so differently. "Do they think im dumb or something...why else would they all keep showing up to school beat up..?" She considers for a second asking Hina if she's seen or heard anything but anyone who knows Takemichi knows that he'd never tell her, trying to keep up that tough guy act.
A quiet sigh escaped her lips before she abruptly arose from her desk chair filled with determination. "I'm gonna get to the bottom of this!" She puts on her sweater and shoes before heading downstairs. The sharp wind from outside only fueled her heart more as she took ten strong strides to the smaller house next to hers, Yamagishi's house.
Knock knock knock!
She politely furiously patted her fist against the door in front of her "Kazushi! Open up or I'm gonna tell Auntie about you being a delinquent!" She threatened her dear cousin, not even considering the possibility that said auntie heard her.
She could hear rapid footsteps coming from inside before the door opened revealing Yamagishi with an irritated look on his face. He looks like he just woke up too. "Why would you yell something like that idiot! My mom is home!" He points at her with furrowed brows. "Are you getting beat up?" She bluntly questions him while moving his finger out of her face. She can see his expression change slightly as beads of sweat form on his forehead. "What...no. I can fight!" He slightly stampers over his words while trying to come up with some sort of lie but detective Tomo is already on the case, it's too late for him.
A moment of silence is shared before she speaks up. "Okay! I was just a little worried because you guys keep showing up with a bunch of bruises and stuff." She rubbed the back of her head while she giggled. "Oh yeah and get ready for school or we'll be late." Yamagishi lets out a sigh of relief when she finally leaves and goes back to her own house.
After that the day went on like it usually does. Just regular school stuff while Tomoko replayed that morning in her head. 'Wait a second...Innocent people don't spontaneously sweat...he's hiding something.' I told you detective Tomo was on the case. She wonders though...what can she do? It's not like she can beat the information out of him...or anything. She continues to think before her thoughts are cut off by her friend sat beside her. "Hey Tomo-chan, what's the answer to 67?" She whispers trying to be discreet so she doesn't get caught cheating. "Huh? I dunno." "You said this was your favorite class!" "That doesn't mean I know every answer..." her friend settled down again.
'I know now! I'll follow them around after school.' She menacingly laughed in her head as she planned her next move on finding out the truth. Before she knew it, it was already the end of class and everyone calmly picked up their bags to finally go home and enjoy the rest of their day. Tomoko on the other hand raced out of the classroom to find any one of them. Whether it was Takuya, Akkun or Takemichi didn't matter, she just had to catch up with one of them to find out where they were going everyday. She was lost in thought when she saw a mix of red and blonde heads step into the boys bathroom. Found 'em.
She pressed her back against the wall right next to the door and flipped open her phone to pretend like she was doing something other than eavesdropping. "They're gonna do their little fight club again." She heard Akkun say quietly. 'Fight club?' "It's been every day lately." Makoto sighed. "Today's fighter...is gonna be Takuya." The whole group lets out an array of gasps after hearing Akkun's words. "Takuya can't do this!" Yamagishi shouted with worry evident in his voice.
Tomoko zoned out "I've heard all I need to. They're being forced by someone to participate in a fight club! I'll do my very best to help them then!" She shoved her fist up in the air. "I'll help–" "Help who?" Yamagishi asked, stepping out of the bathroom with the others and the color drained from her face. 'Did they seriously hear that?' She was too frozen to say anything before they just brushed it off. "Quit being a weirdo..." "Hey Tomo, wanna come eat with us?" Takuya asked her and she smiled while nodding and completely forgetting about the fight club. "Yeah! Let's get burgers!" "We had that yesterday..." (Yamagishi) "So? It's not like you can afford anything else."
"We can't go. Did you guys forget our plans?" Akkun muttered to them. Tomoko knew what they were talking about but didn't say anything. "O-oh yeah! My brother is gonna teach me how to ride a bike today so I can't come, sorry." She makes up a lie so they can go to their fight club. She's worried that if they're late they might get beat up or something. "You seriously can't ride a bike?" Makoto laughed at her, making her cross her arms. "You seriously get 90% of your food bought by a girl?" "Yeah, whatever..." "Alright I gotta go now. Bye guys." She split off and walked the opposite direction as the group but never fully left. Instead she peaked out her head from behind the wall to watch them.
As they started walking towards their destination she very discreetly tailed them until they reached the stairs at the back of the school where people usually left to go home. There's a huge cluster of guys from their school and another one standing around watching something. She walked deeper into the crowd to see what everyone was looking at and in the spotlight was a student from Sakura Middle school, as the 'announcer' said, and Takuya...this is what they were talking about...this is the infamous fight club they were being tortured in everyday.
Tomoko clenches her fists in stress. She's just a teenage girl. How can she help her friends when she can't even fight? She has no influence either. Her heartbeat quickens and she starts to chew on her lip. She can't even hear the mix of whispers and shouting. Some of the guys around her are wondering what a girl is doing there and others are too focused on the soon starting fight in front of them to care.
"What can I do..?" She spoke quietly, barely above a whisper and squeezed her eyes shut.
"Hold it!" She recognized the voice as Takemichi's. Everyone turned to look at him. His left eye is still bruised from his last fight. He starts to descend the stairs with his hands behind his head, trying to look confident. "You know, don't you get bored of seeing the same damn match every single time? You wanna see something more entertaining, don't you?" It was clear no one was impressed with him.
"You're the kid who got knocked out with one punch yesterday."
"Piss off!"
"Something more entertaining?" The guy sitting on the last stair smoking a cigarette asked him suspiciously. "F-For example..." Well that 'confidence' went away fast. Takemichi continues going down. "Let's have the king versus the slave."
"Hey, hey, hey, hey..."
"Shit, he's crazy!"
"The hell did he just say?"
Takemichi finally reached him and put his fist out at him. "Kiyomasa... fight me!" the whole crowd was sent into shock. 'No one's ever challenged him to a fight! I assume...' This honestly made Tomoko feel a little better. She knows Takemichi might not be able to fight but he can definitely take a punch. Now she also knows that her friends will still all be alive which is good.
But...just because he can take a punch doesn't mean she wants to see it happen...
Kiyomasa rises from his seat on the stairs and agrees to the fight. They make their way to the center where they'll begin...

"Wait, seriously? That's insane..." Takemitchi said to himself while watching the television in front of him, a slightly wide eyed expression can be seen on his face.
'Six were injured in this incident. One was sent to the hospital, but is in cardiopulmonary arrest. The ones who died at the scene have been identified as Tachibana Naoto, 25, from Shibuya, Tokyo.'
"Tachibana Naoto?" 'and another victim from Shibuya, Tokyo, Tachibana's older sister, Tachibana Hinata, age 26. The MPD is on high alert.' "Tachibana... Hinata?" Takemichi thinks out loud, shocked and filled with despair after finding out, 'Apparently, my one and only girlfriend, who I dated in middle school, Tachibana Hinata.'
"Hey! I know you're in there!" Takemichi's elderly neighbor banged on his door angrily, having to tell him to turn down the TV once again "Yes?" he responded somberly "How many times do I have to tell you that your TV is too damn loud?" she shouts at him from behind the wooden door to his apartment " Sorry about that." he apologizes as politely as possible "Honestly, kids these days.." she mutters under her breath.
Later, while Takemichi is working at the movie rental shop. "Seriously, how many times do I have to tell you the same thing, Takemichi?" Takemichi's boss, who's younger than him, asked irritatedly, "DVDs need to go back on the shelves as soon as they're returned. Hanagaki I've told you this before, right?" She questions him as it's not the first time Takemichi has forgotten to do as he told "I'm sor—" he tries to apologize but ends up getting interrupted by her "Yeah, I know. All you ever are is sorry." she sighs and looks away from him.
After Takemichi leaves the movie store and starts walking home to his messy apartment he sees a few kids messing with a car parked on the side of the road. "Wow, that's lame!" one of the kids shouted with no hesitation, "Hey, old guy." the kid with the hat and a sky blue short sleeve hoodie speaks, making Takemichi stop in his tracks. "Huh?" Takemichi looks at the group of children in confusion "You got a problem?" the one in the purple hoodie asked impolitely. "Uh, no... Uh, I'm sorry..."
Takemichi tries to apologize before the purple hoodie kid jumps off of the car he was on and looks at Takemichi he gasps slightly as the child steps closer to him and the other two surround him and laugh. The child in the blue hoodie hurriedly goes up to the car and scratches the side of it with a coin, and the kids immediately run away as they giggle to each other about the scandal. Takemichi stands there for a few seconds until a tall man with a dark red blazer sees his scratched car yells; "Hey! What do you think you're doing?!" Takemichi looks behind and locks eyes with the man, before he can act Takemichi runs away as the man yells at his messed up car.
Eventually the man catches up with him and Takemichi ends up apologizing to him for the trouble he didn't start.
'I never thought that my life would turn out like this.' Takemichi thinks to himself, feeling awfully depressed.
'The train bound for Shibuya and Shinagawa will be arriving on track 14.'
The lady on the intercom informs the people wanting to ride said train 'Living in a crappy apartment with paper-thin walls. Treated like an absolute moron by my manager, who's younger than me...'
'Please stand behind the yellow line.'
'Then those punks picked a fight with me, and I somehow ended up apologizing. I've only had one girlfriend in my entire life, and that was in middle school.' Takemichi looks down slightly at the train tracks in front of him.
'To top it off, I'm still a damn virgin.' Takemichi looks down at his feet. 'Where the hell did I go wrong?' His thoughts are interrupted by the feeling of a hand on his back pushing him forward and the loud honk of the train that's seconds away from ending his life. The bright blinding lights are almost like a metaphor if you think about it.
'Huh?, You're kidding.'
'You're kidding! The moment I thought I was going to die, I didn't remember my parents or friends. I remembered my girlfriend.' A memory of Hinata looking away from Takemichi plays through his head as his life flashes before his eyes.
"Apparently, Tachibana from Class 2 likes Hanagaki." One of the other 2nd year girls whispers to her friend.
"Seriously? Why you, though?" A boy with chestnut hair and glasses says to the younger version of Takemichi.
"What are you going to do? Some boys from another class came looking for you yesterday." Another girl with the same uniform as the others and short raven hair gossips.
"Don't give me that. Tachibana's super popular, you know." Hinata sighed.
'Thinking back, my second year in middle school was when I peaked. I was number two in a kickass gang of second-years. And that was the only time I had a girlfriend...Is this, like... the thing where you see your life flash before your eyes?' Takemichi thinks to himself seeing all of the good times he had at school with his group of friends and girlfriend.
Takemichi looks at his hand and his eyes widen Shibuya.
'We have arrived in Shibuya. Please make sure you have all of your belongings.'
The male intercom voice says to all of the passengers of the train.
"Oh, I'm sorry." Young Takemichi says to one of the other passengers that bumped into him, even though they're the one that should have apologized. "Hey, Takemichi!" one of his friends Atsushi Sendou aka Akkun calls out to him "Takemichi!" his other friend Kazushi Yamagishi, the boy from his memory.
Takemichi continues to stare off into the distance, baffled on how he's not dead and why this memory feels so...realistic. "What are you doing? Get off the train." Akkun says to Takemichi wondering why he's being such a ditz. "Wh-Whoa!" he gasps finally realizing that they're talking to him "Hurry up."
He quickly rushes out of the train just in time before the door closes which almost crushed him and goes towards his 'old' friends. 'Whoa, t-talk about nostalgia! Makoto, who couldn't keep his hands off his dick! The fool Yamagishi, who thought he'd be smart if he wore glasses! Our leader, Akkun! Takuya, who I knew since we were little! And Tomoko, Yamagishi's cousin who was always on the hunt for a boyfriend!'
"Yamagishi, did you see this week's issue?" Makoto asks Kazushi "Hell yeah, I saw that pinup! It was insane!" he responds "Could you guys talk about something not stupid for once?" Tomoko rolls her eyes at the two boys in front of her on the escalator as they go up "Yo, guys. We're in public, y'know." Akkun reminds them as well. "At least Akkun has some common sense" the brown haired girl spoke sassily perusal.
"I'm starving. Wanna get something to eat?" Takuya says to the rest of the group as they walk "Yeah I'm hungry too!" Tomoko eagerly agrees with him feeling hungry after the long train trip. "You're always hungry Tomo." Makoto whispered under his breath after she called him stupid. "Wha-" she was going to retaliate but was interrupted by Yamagishi. "I could go for a hamburger." He says trying to change the subject. "Oh! Yes yes yes!" She nodded her head expeditiously.
"I've got a coupon." Makoto smiled. "Got enough for all of us?" "Nope." he responds "I was gonna pay for my own stuff anyway." Tomoko crosses her arms. "Hey Tomo! Help a cousin out!" Yamagishi puts his hands together in a plea. "No way. You have money!" "But you're rich!"
While the rest of the group mingles, Takemichi stops to look at himself in a full sized mirror on the wall of the train station.
'Huh? An open collar and baggy pants? Who the hell is this lame-looking punk?! It's me! It's me from middle school! I was so lame! But this was supposed to be when I peaked! What's in my pockets? A single 500-yen coin and a cellphone! Yo, it's a flip phone! Talk about memories! July 4th, 2005? Uh, wait. Right now, it should be..One, two, three...This is exactly twelve years ago!.'
Tomoko stops and looks back at himself "Takemichi! Are you checking yourself out again?" She teases him and the rest of the other guys turn around to look at him as well.
'Tomo-Chan...it's been a while since I last saw her. She was this group's only saving grace...'
"Hey, Takemichi! The hell are you doing?" Yamagishi yells for him to come along. 'Who knew seeing your life flash before your eyes looked so realistic?'
Once they got to the dinner Makoto had a coupon for, they all sat down Tomoko sitting beside Takemichi at the window. "Seriously, Takemichi? Just fries?" "And you got a small!" Makoto and Yamagishi shout at Takemichi's choice of lunch. "Well, I need change for the train ride home." Takemichi tries to reason with them, not really putting up much of a fight. "It would've worked out." Yamagishi poorly reassures him.
Akkun finally looks at Takemichi and changes the subject, "I'm glad your cousin is the leader of Shibuya Third Middle School." He smiles at him.
'huh'
"If any third-year tries to mess with us, we just need to name drop Masaru." Yamagishi puts his finger up proudly. "Don't talk with your mouth full!" Tomoko reprimanded him while doing the same thing. 'Wha? My cousin?' a memory of Takemichi's cousin riding on a bike away from him and Takemichi chasing him with small tears in his eyes asking Masaru to give something back.
'Are they really talking about Masaru?' He sweat drops at the unpleasant memory. "Hang on a sec. What's so good about having Masaru around? I honestly have no idea what you're talking about." They all look at him awkwardly. "Wh-What?" Takemichi looks at his friends not understanding the new aura, going wide eyed. "Huh?" (Takuya) "What are you talking about?" (Akkun) "We're gonna go pick a fight!" Makoro shouted, clenching his fist and smiling.
'Come to think of it, Masaru-kun did mention that he was the leader at Shibuya Third Middle School.'
"We're gonna have us a little war with the second-years at that school!" He doubles down. "Yeah!" Yamagishi agrees "Huh? We're gonna go over to their school and fight them right now?" Takemichi looks at the five of them wide eyed. "I won't be fighting anyone. I'm going to Hina's house to study for exams." Tomoko briefly says, focusing more on her food than the conversation. "Hey, someone say something." (Yamagishi) "Takemichi, they think we're wusses, so we gotta fight." (Takuya) "They think we're wusses? And that's why we're fighting?"
Still wide eyed he looks at all of them again this time with more fear. "You don't need to act like you're scared! Aren't you gonna greet them with a backfist as soon as we see them, just like always?" Yamagishi, smiling with his eye brows down. "Backfist?" "Yeah, Takemichi's always all fired up." (Akkun) "Lead the way, Charge Commander!" (Makoto) "yeah!" Yamagishi yells, accidentally hitting his knee on the table and spilling one of the drinks "Hey, you're spilling things!" Akkun scolds him, slamming one of his hands onto the table and they all start to laugh except for Takemichi and Akkun.

"Hina, can you help me with number 12? I don't get it at all!" Tomoko laid on Hinata's bedroom floor stomach flat as she flipped through one of their math textbooks from school. Hinata looks over at her and smiles, "Sure! What does it say?" She scoots closer to her friend. "It says—" She's cut off by the blaring of Hina's doorbell. "Who the heck is out this late?"
Hina gets up to answer the door, "I'll get it!" She says as she approaches the ring camera. "Who is it— Takemichi!?" When she realizes it's her boyfriend she quickly swings open the door to check on him. "Hanamichi's here?" Tomoko gets up to see the visitor for herself. When she approaches him she notices that he's all bloody and beat up. "I just... wanted to see you." He whispered to himself.
Tomoko waited for their little couple moment to end before she made herself known. "What happened Takemichi? Did you really lose to those second years?" She tried to make light of the situation to make Takemichi feel better since he's...crying. "No, I'm fine. I just wanted to visit. I'll see you guys tomorrow." He begins to limp away from Hina's apartment. "Wait, where's Kazushi?" "He's on his way home with the others!"

"Tomoko, would you stop crying! It's just a new school, it's not like your old friends are dead or anything..." A young Yamagishi yells at his somehow older cousin who's currently crying while holding his hand like a baby. They're only about 7 years old right now and leaving everything you've ever known is hard for someone her age. "I wanna go home! Where's all my stuff!? I hate it here!"
Tomoko and Yamagishi's parents had sent them to the playground so she could see the neighborhood better and maybe get more comfortable with her new home. Yamagishi thought he was gonna get to play but they just ended up sitting on a bench doing nothing while she whined and cried about wanting to go home...in his book, he would name this the worst playdate ever.
A few days ago Tomoko's parents thought it would be better for them to live closer to family in case of emergencies which is why they moved to the same neighborhood as Yamagishi's. Obviously Tomoko was not fond of that idea at all. She had lived her whole life with her friends, in the same school and now she was being forced to just up and leave them like nothing!
Her whaling soon got louder and by now all of the children and parents alike have turned their heads to look at the commotion, Yamagishi felt embarrassed, all he wanted was to leave but Tomoko wouldn't follow him and his mom would kill him if he left her at the park all alone."Hey Tomo look!" He pulled out a pair of oversized glasses he stole from his father and put them on. "Doesn't this look funny?" He asked with a forced smile across his face. He was 99.9% sure that trick would make her laugh, after all her older brother would do it all the time and Yamagishi would die laughing every single time.
There was a moment of silence before the crying stopped and she finally said something "You look really stupid...take uncle's glasses off." and that was Tomoko's first day in the neighborhood. By the next day she was laughing around like nothing happened, like she was never crying about moving. "Kazu! Come to my backyard and play with me! I found my ball!"
By the time she reached age 12 she had met Takemichi, Takuya, Akkun, and Makoto aka her closest friends, even though sometimes she wishes they were girls since they can be really stupid sometimes.
