Summer just wanted that ideal high school experience, she wanted what she saw in all those movies. She wanted the perfect weight, the perfect skin and hair, every piece of clothing perfect. She wanted to be the popular girl. She wanted to be the girl everyone wanted to be or wanted to be with. She had the means. She came from such an affluent family. Her sister had been on ballet, a theater star, and captain of the cheerleading team during her high school years. Her sister had been perfect. From head to toe. Meanwhile, Summer was thicker and didn’t know the first thing about makeup. She didn’t even know which ones to buy at the store to attempt. She had always been too embarrassed to ask for help. She tried and got made fun of by her older sister. She was unwanted, for some reason or another, her parents were always hands off and her siblings were hesitant to spend time with. She used to rely on her best friend, Cooper. She used to spend so much time with him, every day for hours upon hours. She even slept over. Then he got a girlfriend. It was what they practiced for, but there had always been such a hope beyond hope that they would practice with each other then become one with one another other. She had the stupid fantasy that they would go from best friends to high school sweethearts to husband and wife and just together forever. It was just a pathetic and stupid fantasy. She wasted so many years pining after him, wanting the fantasy, even when she knew he was with someone else and that all the first she was saving for him, he was giving his away to someone else. It hurt. She wished she had listened and not wasted so long for someone who did not care about her like that. So. Autumn gave her a makeover. It was like a fairytale at first. She got the beautiful hair and skin, the clothes. She looked perfect and turned every head in the school. To some extent Cooper even noticed. Not how she wanted, but he still noticed and that was something. But she ignored that and told herself not to waste one more moment. So when the star of the team flirted with her, who was she to resist? He showed such interest in her. She didn't need the help studying but this guy offered to help her. They didn't spend much time studying, more so making out on the couch and her gently pushing his hand off of her breast. She was invited to every big party. Everyone wanted to sit by her all of a sudden. She even scored a spot on the cheer team, someone got injured and they needed a replacement. It was like dreaming. It was the perfect movie almost. Then it became almost like a nightmare. One drink, two drink, eight drink... Summer felt the world tilt and twirl as the party raged on, her new hunky boyfriend leading her up the stairs away from all the noise. She hiccuped and tried to stand up straight only to be pushed gently back onto someone's bed. She didn't know who slept there. She just knew her boyfriend was kissing her and groping every inch. She tried to push his hands off of her, tell him no, but he would quiet her with more kisses and told her to relax, it would feel good, to trust him. She tried to tell him to wait, not like this, she didn't want her first time to be... And the next thing she knew she whimpering, he was grunting, and it took a few minutes of pain until she felt heat drip against her thigh. He relaxed and sighed with such pleasure, Summer still felt tense and unsure, and she didn't feel any sort of pleasure, no release no nothing. She stumbled into the bathroom to his praises of how amazing she felt. She felt just the opposite to herself. She wiped off the white gunk that he left behind on her thigh and moments later she vomited in the sink. She tried calling Autumn, but no answer. She called Cooper, asked him to come pick her up at the party. She made it outside and sat on the curb. She couldn't sit still. Nothing felt okay and she just wanted to take a blistering hot shower. Scrub her skin off maybe. She got silently into his car. She sat in silence and wanted to cry, press her face into his chest and beg him to hold her, tell him what happened and asked him if that was how it was suppose to be. But she didn't. Whatever they had been was no more. She didn't rate on his life no matter how available she made herself. No matter how many times she sat there and waited every morning for him. She started to cry as the car came to the stop and rushed out, into her room, and took that blasting hot shower. She scrubbed away everything and was left with what she looked in the mirror, she saw nothing. So come the morning, she applied the makeup that she was taught and slipped into her tight cute little outfit and went back to the perfect life that she had so desperately wanted. It was better than nothing.
