3/16/2015- the day my husband was found dead -today.
You know you don’t have to be so strong. What if I popped some popcorn and we curled up in my bed and watched I love Lucy re-runs like we did as little girls? You used to say we would grow up to be Ethel and Lucy, because at heart they were true sisters.
“You’ve been given this gift because you’re beautiful, perfect and the kindest soul I have ever come across, not an ounce of hatred or evil inside you” she whispered, taking the blondes hand bringing it up to her lips, kissing her knuckles softly. “We’ll figure out how to help out the coven, I promise” “It’s cute, and heres me always making potions blow up in my face whenever I try them, I’m just glad you’ve started coming down to the greenhouse more, I actually miss your company in here. I hate it when other people come in here because this is our space”
“You’re biased.” Kate blushed shying her eyes away, but her hands taking one of misty’s in between them. She lovingly caressed the woman’s knuckles. “I stayed away for a while... I suppose my confidence kept me away, or lack off..” with saddened eyes she looked back up to Misty. “Please tell me I will be a better supreme to these girls than my mother has ever been... You know, Misty, her voice is always in my head. Telling me I am not good enough...I think I am just going to need you more than ever through this all”
Mitsy came closer and stood by Kate, looking down to hat the blonde had ben doing before bringing her gaze to her “Are you sure? I always feel like I’m interrupting with this kind of thing” she murmured.
“I’m proud of you, it means what i’m finally saying is making a difference “she said giving a small smile and then leaning her head onto her girlfriends shoulder “What is it you’re conjuring?”
Kate nodded giving Misty a soft smile. It warmed her throughout to know that her girlfriend was proud of her--words she hadn’t heard much and had craved to hear her entire life. “I’m just trying to wrap my head around how I could be given this gift, how I could deserve it, and what exactly I am going to do for the sake of this coven. The coven comes first... over my mother.”
“I was just conjuring a little herbal potion to boost my confidence and bring me some sort of guidance. You know me, always playing--.” she sighed quietly setting down the test tube behind her on the table.
Misty peeped over the work counter and watched Kate, tilting her head “Am I interrupting?” she wondered in a whisper, not wanting to startle her like she had done many times before.
Kate’s eye lashes fluttered open at the sound of Misty’s voice. “No, of course not...” The blond turned on her stool to face the woman, her arm lifting out for Misty to come closer. “I was just..it may sound silly, but I was giving myself some sort of courage...hope... strength..I’ve been thinking a lot about our last talk about--things.”

"I am unbelievably bored….Although putting poprocks in Kates coffee was pretty funny."
"Even into the afternoon my mouth is still popping.....I'm sure if it was someone else's coffee you would have had an irritable person to deal with, a very angry witch.. you are quite the little clever shapeshifter."
"Whats the other way…" Willow quickly demanded to know. "Tell me the other way.."
"In terms, The Great Ascension." Kate licked her lips uncomfortably not really knowing how she felt about practicing the ascension, and Victoria, her mother falling off of her throne. "but i think....I think that we aren't ready for a new supreme. She isn't ready."
C R E A T U R E S (1/?) - witches
we probably all know a creature with "raven hair and ruby lips" and chances are, "she’s a restless spirit on an endless flight."
"Kate! Cut the bullshit! I’m through with having to pretend I don’t know these things, I’ve known it for sometime, normal witches don’t make the house have a power outage when they come, they don’t glow so radiantly like you, they don’t have the will to keep getting up every single time they are knocked down. You have that potential, because we both know exactly what you are. Madison knows it, and Victoria most certainly knows it which is why they have trashed you your whole life!" The witch shouted, frustrated, the blonde never having a good handle on her temper. "You can do it, you’re just hiding behind this wall of self doubt and self hatred, not to mention the words of your mother and sister" The witch then cupped Cordelia’s cheeks making her look at her "You have that power inside of you, you just have to hone in on it, ignore the outside world and focus on your true self. You have to do it, for the sake of our kind and for these girls….For me" she added, swallowing thickly "Because at this rate, we are all going to crash and burn and I have burned once and I can tell you that it is not pleasant"
Kate usually puffed her chest out and released her anger until someone yelled back at her. Her chest began to deflate the more Misty released her frustration. Kate stepped back until her heel nudged the leg of the dining room chair, and she sat down. She was quiet, quietly absorbing the sound waves of Misty's voice. She was right, Kate knew it in her heart. "But I don't know what to do? What is the right thing to do. I feel like I am stuck." She whimpered, her eyes closing as Misty's hands slid onto her face. The blonds chin began to quiver thinking of Misty being burned again. She lightly shook her head, "No, I don't want that..." She sighed quietly taking in a breath to hold herself. Opening her eyes to look at Misty she spoke quietly. "I can't lead without you. You're my strength. Do we dare try a Great Ascension?"
"When is the right time?! I feel like that time is now, or should have been when were under attack..” She said worriedly. “Am I the only one that wants to start building a coven full of strong and brace witches now?”
"What difference would it make? Hm? You wouldn't have a supreme in your group, so that is not a coven make. Here there is a Coven, a supreme and once Victoria falls, a new shall rise. That is how this system works. The only other way for a new supreme to rise is a way I refuse for this coven. I'm sorry, Willow."
"Well when is this supreme going to show up? You know that we need someone…we can’t keep living like this or we will destroy each other. Not to mention what happens if we become under attack…"
"When he time comes she will rise, but as for now being a part of this Coven, one supreme is still here. Victoria is our supreme. We will not be like other Covens and break tradition and overthrow. We've already been under attack and we are still here. Most of these witches are too young and have little control over their powers, a Coven built on that would crumble quicker."
"Well Fiona is pretty close to…death…don’t you think?" Willow said kind of rudely. "What if we just start the coven, and wait for the next supreme? We can become stronger and build until we find the supreme. Right…?”
"That's my mother." She bit her tongue harshly looking down at her fingers trying not to think about her mothers cancer. "We can't start a Coven without a supreme. That's just gathering witches together who can't grow. A supreme is a core power. Without one we just are a bunch of girls having a sleep over." She sighed shaking her head. "And the council would never allow it.. This Coven has a waiting supreme already."
"Well.." Willow said biting her lip. "I want to make a new coven. And I want others to help.."
"It' not that simple I am afraid.." Kate sat up straight in her chair. "For you would have no supreme and that's how Covens are built, by one soul power to ignite a sisterhood and hold them up, almost like a bee hive. The hive can't operate without one..and one won't rise here until Fiona is dead.." She cleared her throat tapping her fingers against her wine glass.
"I just don’t want you to be suffering here" she whispered sadly and came closer to the blonde and wrapped her arms around her waist "I understand but I just hate it, I know you have all of this potential and you are just ignoring it and letting whats going on here get you down and repress your true self. You know that you’re the next Supreme, we’ve both known it for sometime" she whimpered.
Kate swallowed hard knowing Misty could see right through her. The woman knew her nearly more than she knew herself. "I'm not the nex..--" Her arms slid off of Misty's waist pulling back with an uneasy laugh. "No." She shook her head in denial. "My mother brought me up telling me how I would never become a supreme or even a decent witch." She bit her tongue shaking her head again, more harshly almost afraid to face the truth. Misty was right, they had been noticing Kate's powers for months now and they both just ignored them.
"Misty I am not supreme worthy! I can't even stand up for myself, mind you just for this coven. I sit here worrying too much about someone who cared so little of me, rather than taking charge for whats best for these girls. I'm not strong, no leader build is in me. I'm weak, ill minded, and powerless. I am more human than a witch." Her voice cracked as her mothers words repeated inside of her head. The words she had choked on all of her years, forced to swallow. "It's exactly why I became nothing but a simple witch. They took my powers away, I can't control them, i can't find them inside of me!"
"Oh my, so much usless sentiment for a woman that has mistreated you your whole life and couldn’t give a rats ass about you. You could easily kill two birds with one stone, trick her into killing herself for her crimes against witch kind and then let the nest Supreme ascend. Do you all really need it spelling out?"
"So I should stoop to her bottomless level and also not give a rats ass about her as well? That's heartless, and I am not that person, i've thought about it, sure- but that's not me and it never will be."
"Simple. You need to perform a Great Ascension. Make the next Supreme flower. You all act like you’ve just had a spell book thrown at you and are completely clueless about anything of witch kind. Probably best I got out and made my own Coven when I did"
"You don't think I haven't thought about that...especially after so much has been done..My mother is dying. Sort of puts me in a tough position as I seem to be the daughter with the heart and the greatest disappointment."
Willow took a cautionary seat across from Kate and smiled. “So..I have this idea. But I need help and advice. Joan told me that you’d be the best one to talk to..”
"Joan." She smiled at the sound of the womans name and gave Willow a nod. "I will listen and help you the best that I can. What is it?"
