Hello, and welcome to Sumo GIFs! I've been watching Ozumo for almost 3 years, and my favourite rikishi right now is Hoshoryu.

This blog is my attempt to gather every Sumo GIF I can get my hands on into one spot. Sumo is filled with tons of moments that make amazing GIFs! And when they aren't competing, the rikishi are doing other things that are fun to make into GIFs.

I'll try my best to post as many as I can! I'll post current and retired rikishi. If you have any specific moments or rikishi you would like to see posted, please send me a message in my ask box!

Each post is tagged accordingly, so if you want to check for a specific rikishi, you should be able to search my blog for their name, and see if I've posted them.

Hi everyone, just an update on the blog...

Long story short, a ton of my posts got flagged for review under the "Mature Content" criteria. When I say a ton, I mean that well over half of all my posts. This doesn't remove my posts, but it does give them a warning label that blocks the GIFs until you click the warning away.

This is not a NSFW blog, but I do acknowledge that sumo is a sport with a lot more nudity than one may be used to, lol. With that being said, I would imagine that anyone following my blog is doing so with the express intent to look at sumo wrestlers. Meaning, a warning tag on posts would be unnecessary. This doesn't affect the posts in any way, but it is a little irritating to me that the misunderstood culture of this sport warranted this censorship. I'm a sumo blog. Sumo fans aren't going to be scandalized if they see one of my posts on their feed.

I've taken some time to submit second review requests for every single post that was flagged. I'm going to wait to submit any new posts until I have some resolution for this.

In the meantime, please feel free to send me requests in my ask box! I'd like to post lots when I get this all fixed. If there's any rikishi you'd like to see, please let me know. To anyone currently sitting in my ask box, I see you! Once this is resolved, I'll get right to it.

OK update to this; I'm not an experienced Tumblr user, so I've just realized that these flagged posts are blocked from being searched on my blog. Meaning, if you want to search for a specific gifset for a rikishi, you could be out of luck if it's been flagged. This is really frustrating! Hoping it's resolved quickly, as I tagged each post with the idea that you could just search for the rikishi you wanted.

I'll keep everyone posted about this. Hakkeyoi!
