I think it's kind of funny that each of the MXTX fandoms have a really strong strain of the exact kind of behavior that would drive the protagonists of each story up the wall.

Scum Villain fandom turns the characters into everything from adorable pets to majestic dragons to skin creatures and yet still more or less just smacking them together to kiss like barbies. Shen Qingqiu would have strong opinions on being depicted as a kind of lactating hairless cat with a human face, and also on all the gratuitous smut, and they would probably not be flattering opinions.

MDZS fandom has so much discourse hell and intense debates that often devolve into accusing some character or other of being completely morally indefensible, just the worst person who is secretly responsible for all the bad things in the story. Wei Wuxian would hate it, canonically that shit just flashes him back to the worst moments in his own life, so I think MDZS fandom would give him hives.

And finally TGCF fandom really likes opening and dissecting everything via fairly intensive metatextual analysis, not letting anything just slide by without a cross-examination or ten, which Xie Lian would not be a great fan of. Must we discuss all the terrible tragedies and how preventable they were/weren't? Is it not enough to simply enjoy Hua Cheng depicted as the world's roundest fox? Xie Lian is here for the fluff and the thirst posting and everyone else is blocked.

i think it's really fun when a rly specific trope is super popular in one particular medium but in other ones it's just totally unheard of. it's the time knife. visual novel players are suuuuper used to death games but many others encountered them for the first time in squid games. the other day my mom showed me all excited the summary of a super original novel she found and it was about a girl who got reincarnated as the main character in her favorite fantasy book

I couldn’t find the system in the actual novel referring to Shen Yuan as „user 002“ but even if that’s just a fanon thing, the implication that the PIDW world was such a catastrophic failure that the system was prepared to bring in potentially hundreds of transmigrators to fix the plot is hysterical

AU where SY transmigrates as a minor villain from late-PIDW who found a way to clone Luo Binghe and raised the clone of him as his own child so he could use him to replace the original and take over the world. This, predictably, went pretty poorly for both him and the clone, and now SY is waking up in a hidden lab with a freshly born baby clone!Binghe sleeping beside him.

Now, SY doesn’t have a System here, but he’s still faced with a dilemma. LBH is likely to take the existence of his clone pretty poorly — even to his own children he was a pretty terrible father and this one doesn’t even have a mother that he’s married to — and SY has read exactly how this cute little baby in his arms violently died, and exactly why. According to LBH (and his biased narration), the reason the clone didn’t stand a chance at defeating him was because he never faced the same suffering as the original.

So now SY has to decide — does he raise clone!Binghe as well as he can and just hope for the best? Or does he put him through a life of training that might hurt him… but will ensure he survives in the end?

He goes down to the abyss with him. It's the best place to hide, the only place the kid can train enough to maybe protect himself from Luo Binghe, and it has the coolest monsters.

👀 That’s a good idea actually, my initial idea was that they live in some weird cave system (there’s a cool one in Vietnam that even has trees growing inside parts) but the Abyss makes way more sense! Maybe I can combine the concepts?

i feel like since sy doesn’t have a system he would immediately try and stay as far away from binghe as possible because he doesn’t want himself or his new baby binghe to get absolutely wrecked meeting him and sy would just do his best to raise the baby

i mean obviously binghe would show up at some point because plot but at that point shen yuan can just pull out the wife beam and suddenly baby binghe is just another of binghe’s children and sy is another (the best and only) wife

Putting this situation through the contraption that is Shen Yuan's brain and what comes out of the other end is that he absolutely must transition and just play it off like "she" and Binghe had a one night stand that the protagonist forgot about.

I feel like it should be more common to see non-plot-relevant plant babies running around PIDW world. Like they’re indistinguishable from womb babies except for not having a belly button and that’s it in most cases. I feel like people would talk about having plant babies the same way people in the modern world talk about IVF babies.

Characters I think should be plant babies:

Mu Qingfang: his fancy doctor parents wanted a child but neither of them wanted to actually go through the hell of pregnancy.

Little Palace Mistress: while the old palace master’s late wife was able to bare children, the old palace master is so aged and decrepit that he’s become infertile.

Yue Qingyuan: he actually didn’t have parents, some random dude’s hand got nicked by a weird plant and a toddler emerged from the earth fully formed 4 years later.

svsss fic that i need in this world even if only in concept: Þrymskviða but instead of Thor, Liu Qingge, and instead of Loki, Shen Qingqiu. 

so… do you remember that Edda poem in which a giant steals Mjölnir and demands the hand of Freyja in payment for its return? Thor and Loki travel to the Jötunheimr disguised as Freyja and her bridesmaid for the wedding ceremony in order to retrieve the hammer. Hilarity ensues.

Now: Luo Binghe steals Cheng Luan and ask for Liu Mingyan in exchange. The two siblings are so alike in physique and demeanor that Liu Qinghe could probably pass for her even without the veil his sister always wears, since nobody knows what her face actually looks like and their eyes and upper face are very similar. Shen Qingqiu accompanies him as a back-up but also because his shidi can’t act for shit, he can’t act to save his life, and you have to recognize that Cucumber Bro has some experience in the area (not that anybody knows…, but then, he is the only peak lord that has any resemblance of control over Liu Qingge). Luo Binghe, of course, at the sight of Mingyan’s beautiful and kinda buggingly familiar bridesmaid, is about to turn this satire into a shakespearean comedy.

Shen Jiu only has one tea pet and it’s a butt ugly dog-bear thing with big sad eyes Ning Yingying made for him. Apparently it was inspired by the sight of the sect leader waiting outside the bamboo house in the pouring rain. It is one of his most treasured possessions. He loves pouring scalding water on it.
