I do in fact have that summertime sadness
Haidee-Jo Summers (British b.1971), Walking with Maisie, Cornwall, 2025, Oil on panel
i do think there is something so exceptional that something as rare and beautiful as an eclipse is something you should not look at directly because it might permanently damage your vision. a partial eclipse is so bright it hurts to look at, a total eclipse breaks and the light overwhelms your vision.... at the risk of sounding trite it does feel like that element of cosmic horror that is too much for a human to behold without losing something of yourself. i luv space
the amount of lawsuits these exploited children are going to be filing 20 years from now is going to be crazy and im all for it
Hey, can I challenge the Christian userbase in here to consider how we use language, specifically the word 'retard'
I've only ever seen that word put on my dash by the Christian blogs I follow, and it makes me very sad. We should be using loving words that uplift and build people up, not words that are slurs and used to put people down.
It's careless and thoughtless, and serves only to anger people or put them down. It's a word with a long history of abuse towards people with intellectual disabilities, and we should be aware of that. (And yes, I am aware that it was originally a clinical diagnosis. But words change meaning overtime, and is that really the context you're using it in?)
Sincerely, the sister of an awesome kid with Down Syndrome.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.” (Galatians 5:22-23)
mutuals, out of curiosity what season were you born in and what's your favorite season?
I like my men like I like my horses: tall, about as afraid of me as I am of them, eating hay, never mind this was funnier in my head

Not to be a luddite on main but the defense "well you're just like the people who were against cars or who thought cinemas were just a passing fad" is actually faulty at its very core. There are thousands of things that WERE passing fads. That didnt last. Thousands of things that were unsafe and didnt work out. We're removing asbestos wherever we can. We're removing mercury. We stopped bleeding people to cure them. Eating goldfish alive and standing at the top of a pole were fads. Even heelies didnt last, for a more benine example. Just because the thing that is being opposed is 'recent' doesnt it mean it will last forever or is necessary a good progress.
People used to ingest radioactive material as a vitamin and take morphine as cough syrup, this is not the first time we’ve been sold poison by ignorant or evil people
