For anyone who is following this development I would like to indicate that the only reason I’m not writing it is due to wanting to make sure i have the basic outline of what I want to improve ready. Right now I am happy with most of the characters, but I am specifically adjusting and improving aspects of two of the main 3, that way when they come up they are actual people, rather than caricatures. ya’ll can guess who they are, one has already made significant strides in improvement, the other just needs more fleshing out so they are actually enjoyable to have. while I work on that I will continue from time to time posting details about the AU that would help to have on hand. until then, look forward to writing and working on things, see you in the sun.

Daiyokai and Yokai Markings.

Daiyokai, or grand demon/grand yokai, vary from the 3 catagories of yokai. in the Nitama, Daiyokai are typically simply the strongest of the sage animals, however are different from aratama daiyokai. spirits rarely produce daiyokai but these end up often being regarded as things akin to primal elemental entities and often have more sentience than other things, often forming from ancient trees or other places where a strange concentration of souls and chakra meet constantly. now with Aratama, things get interesting, an aratama daiyokai is denoted in colored markings similar to sage markings but with no real regularity even among similar yokai, often times these markings can easily be seen on cheeks, chest, back, arms and legs, and can cover much of a daiyokai. These are similar to sage mode in the aspect that they come about after a certain threshold of nature energy is present, specifically present in a stable fashion in most cases. Chakra wise, Daiyokai are known for having more chakra more often than not yet it is always much calmer. this is due to the markings acting as focusing agents on the body of a daiyokai, allowing a much more stable and alive body. Daiyokai are also capable of one other thing in the case of aratama and spirits, being the ability to mark humans with extreme concentrations of their nature chakra, resulting in marks that often appear as discolored patches of skin, ranging from blue, yellow and purple. these, when implanted on someone with low chakra control, will always destabilize chakra flow and without treatment drive someone mad. those with chakra control can make use of these marks as secondary sources of chakra, particularly nature energy. These will always feed off the host’s base chakra to replenish themselves but once they reach a threshold they stop draining. they are easiest to work with when smaller but can even induce physical changes that lead to growth, these changes even potentially leading to an evolution to the genetic structure of someone affected by the marking, as seen by the Kiriyoki clan, who long ago were marked by a daiyokai, leading their children to develop a biological kekkei genkai that allowed them to feed off high amounts of nature energy to improve physical structure, general abilities and just transform. issue is that without sage like training, too much of this chakra can and will overwhelm the user. The kiriyoki clan are basically the clan Jugo hails from for those who were wondering. Treatment for yokai marks range from simply using the nature energy as much as possible until potentially depleting it faster than it can leech or using seals to lock it away.

Hyanos/Demonic halfbreeds.

Born of a human parent and an Aratama Yokai parent, Hyanos take traits from both their human and yokai parents. It is important to note that certain characters in the base series will be made into hyanos to justify their bizarre appearances and strange starting abilities (Such as orochimaru). Often times Hyanos will resemble a mix of their yokai parent’s traits and their human parent, however on a genetic level, due to the chaos of the yokai parent, often times chakra natures in particular are scrambled and can arrange themselves in strange fashions, causing sudden developments of Elemental kekkei genkais in particular, though not super common. Hyanos will often also develop physically unique traits, such as enhanced smell or other senses as a result of their yokai parent. Due to the fact that Yokai always possess nature energy, as it either physically helps make their bodies or is what made them in the first place, all Hyanos have an inherent supply of nature chakra inside them. This energy however is closer to the chaotic nature of something like Orochimaru’s curse mark, though without the mental degradation. this supply naturally will recharge itself from either the world around a hyano or the hyano’s own natural chakra converting into this nature chakra, as this nature chakra is considered by their body to be higher on the priority, which is also why their bodies are abnormal in appearance. As a result, a hyano can almost always infuse attacks with nature energy, massive improving their power, though they cannot use too much of it or else their other yokai traits may weaken, weather that is physical strength being enhanced or their senses dulling. Hyanos, unlike their parents, are also capable of mastering sage mode, which is mostly used to balance the already present nature energy in their body and grant perfect control over it and of course grant the sixth sense sensory abilities sage mode is known for, but this of course requires the same effort and training as normal humans. Lastly as a last ditch effort, a Hyano with above average chakra control can feed their chakra into their nature supply to go into what is refered to as a Yokai shift, in which they normally resemble a smaller version of their yokai parent or sometimes even their own appearance based on who they are, this natrually enhances all their abilities at the cost of self control in most cases if used for too long and even potential death if all normal chakra is converted. One final thing, any jutsu, elemental kekkei or not, that is made by a hyano intentionally infused with their nature energy cannot be replicated instantly by a sharringan unless the user of the sharringan in question has access to sage mode or some other method of using nature chakra.

Yokai

Separated into 3 major categories, 1 of which were naturally present in the main universe, are Yokai. These 3 catagory consist of Nitama, Aratama, and Spirits. Nitama consist of sage animals/creatures and most animal life that gains sensitivity to sage chakra, spirits are naturally generated either through aimless souls or nature itself, and Aratama are created from the souls of humans infused with Nature energy by the leader of the Aratama Yokai, someone most only know as the “Dark Mother”. The main thing shared between all yokai is their connection to the earth in some way, as all of them are either physically made up of Nature energy infused with normal chakra or became yokai outright through nature energy. While all 3 types can function under summon contracts, Nitama are considered the best for this as due to the fact they have physical bodies, they are the most mentally composed most of the time. Spirits typically lack higher thoughts due to being formed or raw nature or being born of a mostly undeveloped soul, such as that of a stillborn infant. A well known of spirit yokai are the Scampuss, large round cat like spirits born from the souls of undeveloped human babes, they are known for seeking attention from anything that will give it due to a desire to be loved and cared for. Aratama and spirits do have another thing in common, normally, neither can permanently die. This is due to the fact that unlike Nitama, they are closer to the tailed beasts and functionally are built entirely of chakra, thus when their forms are disrupted, they typically return to the earth for a time. It is important to note that raw Aratama are incapable of benefiting from sage mode, as their bodies on the very microscopic level are chaotic, preventing them from achieving stillness. It is also due to this chaos that most yokai appear very monstrous, as their chakra forms their body based on what the soul was at its core. Lastly, Aratama are the only yokai able to interbreed with living humans to make Hyanos due to similar enough chakras and orginally being humans themselves. Hyanos will get their own post due to the various complications that go into their functions.

Shingan/Daishingan

The shingan is a dojutsu present in this universe that is present in different characters, predominantly the sungod possesses the daishingan or grand god eye and the replacement of the kaguya clan, called the Sanhato (Sun heart) clan, replacing  Shikotsumyaku or the bone release jutsus that the Kaguya clan would be known for. Appearance wise, the Shingan consists of a pale and steely blue eye, accentuated with needle shaped light patterns circle around the eye evenly. When first manifested there are 3 of these needles and like the tomoe of a sharringan, these needles can help determine what stage of progression these eyes are in, with them eventually manifesting 12 needles of light with 4 large needles in a + or x formation with smaller light needles around them. The basic ability the Shingan provides is the ability to see the complete living body and its different layers except for the chakra system. This allows a user of the shingan to see subtle changes in muscular structure allowing extreme ease of reading an opponents movements based on tensing of the muscles, blood flow, and with advanced understanding of the nervous system, reading the electrical signals in the brain as sparks to identify specific thought patterns based on the area of the brain, though it does not read minds, it can simply provide an educated idea based on what’s seen. Outside of the blunt ocular ability, the Dojutsu possesses two additional abilities, The soul Aura/Cloak and Halo of Light. The Soul aura manifests as an aura of chakra that can be kept close to the body of the user and allows for full body usage of chakras and extreme ease of chakra shaping. hand signs are still required to facilitate chakra flow in specific elements outside of certain instances, such as the daishingan belonging to an otsutsuki who effortlessly can manifest elements. this chakra when starting out extends out of the body up to 2-4 centimeters or about 1 1/2  inches and at max strength typically can go out about 20-30 centimeters, 1/3 a meter or almost a whole foot, 11.81 inches to be exact. this aura carries weight to it and its form can be shaped and extended by funneling more power to it, though this of course uses additional chakra. this makes it extremely easy to use techniques like chakra scalpels or making the chakra move in an erratic flame like pattern to rip and tear at anything attacking it, or simply condensing it. the halo of light sacrifices the full body coverage of the aura to produce a 6-8 inch diameter halo or 15 to 20 centemeters. This forms behind the head and has one function, the instant usage of jutsus regardless of chakra requirement (outside of actually having the energy to use it and ability to manifest said element) and only require hand signs to make elements to unleash an elemental jutsu. the halo can come out after the soul aura of a user of the shingan has reached its full size but is fragile and can be shattered with a moderate amount of force, causing the body to suck the chakra back in unless already eaten/drained. Tl’dr, Shingan can see the systems of a body and grant unique forms of chakra manipulation.

immediate differences

in the base story, Kaguya was the source of the world’s chakra, and in mythology she is associated with the moon, In this Storyline, she is replaced entirely with a Sun based equal. this is both in aesthetics and raw power but does not change the fundamentals of the World, it does however introduce 3 new phenomena, those being the inclusion of a new Dojutsu, referred to as the Shingan (God eye), yokai/Demons appearing in full force with their own diverse system around them ranging from small adorable scampusses to powerful and dangerous Daiyokai, which come with their own modified chakra that will be expanded upon in a future post as well as the ability to make human and yokai halfbreeds called hyanos or half demons who can have access to said chakra, and finally many newer OCs, if you don’t like OCs in fanfics, this will not be you, though the end goal in all of this has been to have everything be balanced with itself rather than there being too much of a focus on the OCs or the main cast, while hopefully fixing certain short comings of the original story, such as hopefully improving certain characters in specific aspects.
