Two fakemon I made based on gadflies and the philosopher Socrates. Theyre also based on the Social Gadfly which is a term for a person who ''interferes with the status quo of a society or community by posing novel, potentially upsetting questions, usually directed at authorities.'' according to Wikipedia. I made them with the fakemon region made for a dnd game I'm playing, which is based on Greece/Italy in mind. The region itself was made by my dm.

Furyfly is based on the idea of a rebel. Having a kind of punk vibe with a little 'biker jacket' and 'googles'. The horns are based on real gadfly heads having these little spiky antennae. the way i exaggerated them makes it look like a Kamen Rider character tho lol. Tabrities is directly based on Socrates. With the wings forming a toga and his pose being inspired by the painting: The Death of Socrates. They both have sharp teeth since gadflies have painful bites even to humans.

They're also supposed to be a duo with a regional form of Rapidash based on Pegasus. I'll post that later at some point.

i only really included the general info in this since I don't know shit about fuck when it comes to pokemon stats.

About a year ago I did studies of him but I thought to do it again to see how I improved... and also because I felt like I needed to lock in on finding my style for Human Rocky lol So hopefully now I have a better feel for him so I can start drawing this version of him a little more :]

Hair Day

most carousel companies had their own individual style when it came to their horses manes but some shared common labels

today we’ll be talking about the different kinds of manes used on carousel horses

Windswept

also known as wind blown manes, carousel horse carvings were all about showing a horse in motion! this was the perfect mane to do the job

Peekaboo Mane

just as it sounds, this mane has a gap that you can look through!

peekaboo manes were an incredible flex in the carousel world, it proved that a company could carve thin pieces of wood without the risk of it snapping

Trojan Mane

also known as roached or chopped manes, this style of hair was given its name for its trojan-helmet resemblance

allan hershell is my personal favorite when it comes to trojan manes. sometimes they blend the trojan mane & peekaboo mane as seen in the first photo below

Side Swept

these manes bring a softer/elegant side in contrast to their energetic counterparts

it also brought great emphasis to the romance side, the side of a carousel horse that always faces the crowd

Flying Mane

similar to the windswept mane but with more volume and exaggeration

sometimes carvers such as parker would combine the peekaboo mane with the flying mane as shown below to the right

Top Knot

this mane is styled as if the bangs are floating or curled into a knot on top of the horses head, giving an energetic appearance

introduced in the 1920s, this style was used by the dentzel/muller company the most

remember that many carousel companies differ from eachother! some may share terms while others do not, thank you for reading!

Me and my pokemon dnd group all made an ocsn page (its and app for people to role play as their oc using a social media format) for our characters and I've been drawing stuff for it. Its photos and screenshots that are supposed to be in Reines pov. Like a pic from a rave she was at or a screenshot of a vid she found on poketube lol. Also because I'm holding myself to that standard i always feel like i need to add an appropriate background lol so that's fun for me eeeeeehhhh.
