I like to think that Sabo and Law were dating, before Sabo regained his memory and Law came to Sabaody… How? I imagine the teenage Sabo (17) meeting the rookie Law (21), on some island, they like each other a lot but they can't keep each other, that's why they maintain their relationship at a distance, for years, on dates and calling each other.

When the Marineford incident occurs, Law helps Luffy without knowing that he is his brother-in-law and Sabo recovers his memory when Robin arrives at the Revolutionary Army, around that time Law goes to see Sabo, worried because when he tried to contact him he told him that he had a breakdown, which is why he leaves when Rayleigh arrives at Amazon Lily knows that someone else would be responsible for her patient, and it was there that Sabo explained his memories of Luffy to his.

That's why when Law sees Luffy again in Punk Hazard, he is surprised by the coincidence, he tells him not to thank him and forget it, but he trusts him and proposes the alliance, they are family after all.
