Do you know him? The one I know?
Growing up, I heard frivolous stories of him flirting with the milk maids and effortlessly fighting off the demon assassins sent to kill him. The depth-less protagonist who did not hesitate to show off his other-worldliness did not garner much interest in me.
After peeling down the layers, I found the One I have come to respect. He taught me the difference between Dharma (moral codex) and societal conventions. His perceived act of cowardice inspired me more then any act of misplaced bravery could.
He is a feminist. (A feminist God. Unbelievable, but true!)
He is Infinite in a finitely bound society.
The Krishna I know.
