Personal Rant

Just some feelings about my current job. I'm gonna stick it under a read more tag so if you're curious go ahead if not move along. :p

Basically I work in the food industry. The place is a type of restaurant that also does catering. You'd think something like that would be fun but instead it's nothing but a pointless drama fest on account of having a shift leader who is a lying bitch. There's no way to sugar coat it. The woman lies about absoutely everything just to cover her ass and to create drama.

If we run out of a paticular food, she tells the owners it's because I didn't tell her we needed more, even though I did and she forgot. Anything that goes wrong she finds someone to blame so she's not in trouble at all, ever.  She will outright contradict you and tell the manager that you didn't do something when you did. Naturally they always believe her.

Then there is the never ending stupidity of her showing up late for her shift nearly every fucking day and then reaming any of us out if we're late by a few minutes one day of the month. Of course she plays favorites and overlooks others being late because she likes them. Like today, for example, I was kept over for half an hour because my replacement was late, did she get in trouble? Of course not. =/

So today we had huge catering orders to be done and of course lots of work. What pissed me off so much is they keep telling me I need to learn how to do this part of the job and yet whenever they come around I get ignored when I remind them I want to learn how to do them. So I've been with this place for 7 months and I still get ignored EVERY single time.

It annoys me because later they'll go on and on about how I lack the initiative to do catering orders even though they ignore me and won't let me do them when we have them. So it's this never ending cycle of stupidity that makes me want to just walk out the door and never return.

Lets see if this read more break works... Anyway, I thought I'd answer this since I was born and raised in the LDS (Mormon) religion. Now I know I've told you that I'm not particularly religious anymore but I still wanted to share how my own beliefs have changed over the years.

Basically I changed into the belief that you didn't need religion (secular) in order to have good ethical values to live your life by. At the same time I also think one should respect others and their beliefs, kind of the rule of treat others how you would like to be treated.

So I just wanted to toss out the option of reading up on Ethics in addition to exploring religion. I honestly think you can learn a lot from both. As a guide for yourself and as a means to understand your fellow human being a bit better.

Either way, best of luck in exploring your options. ^_^
