Healing
Base use of “El Hilo Rojo” without etching her name into her activated Vital Instrument. Can be used to both heal wounds and dampen pain receptors.
This use is commonly known as “Stitches”
Combat
Secondary use of “El Hilo Rojo” when Arabella etches her name into her activated Vital Instrument. Her strings harden into blade like threads and her needle/s grow in size. If not careful or properly handled, this use of her jinki can be harmful to her colleagues and herself.
This use is commonly known as “Thread of Fate”
Manipulation
This tertiary use of “El Hilo Rojo” manifested after Arabella received her second needle. Amongst boosting the other two existing uses, when she etches her name into her Vital Instrument, Arabella can control 2 people at a time by inserting her needles into the base of their necks. When removing the needles, she uses “Stitches” to heal the hole left and erasing any traces of her manipulation.
This use is commonly known as “Puppet Strings”

I misheard her when she introduced herself and thought she said ‘Sumiu’ not ‘Semiu’ and so I went around calling her that until Arkha corrected me. Yeah. She wasn’t even the one who corrected me. Anyways, that’s where the nickname ‘SumSum’ comes from.”

“I studied medicine under Alice for a little while after Semiu joined. I actually read every single one of Alice’s articles involving her studies on body pollution. She sorta became my idol, someone I did and still do look up to, a badass woman in my opinion. Arkha took note and figured because the main use of my vital instrument is healing, it wouldn’t hurt for me to learn from a real doctor. So I spent about two weeks out of each month learning from her for about three years—almost four. That’s where I met the siblings. August frequently used me as one of his models, claiming his ‘grandmama’ was too old and Eishia was too little and shy. Despite his outgoing personality, he was often too busy with his designs to really spend time with—like grandma like grandson I guess. Eishia and I, however, became pretty close. Really, I think she just appreciated being able to talk to someone at a normal speaking volume. Now that she’s with the Cleaners, I’ve been tasked with being her mentor, which I don’t mind at all. In fact, I like being able to teach her what her grandma taught me.”
