Re-blog if you can write in cursive.
I heard cursive is dying. I want to see who still uses it.
…you know what, I’ve just figured out the best moment in history that the Legends of Tomorrow ought to go visit.
One of the jokes I have heard most often as a history major when talking about ways in which history (or at least, surviving legends about history) can be sillier than fiction is about how Lichtenstein decided to participate in the Austro-Prussia War of 1866.
They sent 80 men to Italy to fight.
The army returned with 81.
Now c'mon, tell me that isn’t the perfect opportunity to put one of the Legends in there, going "I’m totally from Lichtenstein, yeah, really, I swear!“
@robininthelabyrinth -- maybe that's how Mick gets away from the Legends?
Mick: "Yeah, I gotta stay here... they need another guy for history? It's a... a predestination paradox!"
Gideon: Mick is correct.
All the rest of the crew: ...for once?
*Legends depart in Waverider. Mick heads off to Lichtenstein soldiers... and one of them suddenly runs over and embraces him!*
Len (the soldier): Told you it would work.
Mick: *grins* Yeah, they're all suckers!
Len: *smiles fondly* Let's go, partner... those pharoahs' tombs won't rob themselves?
*They disappear in a sparkle of icy blue lights, thanks to the time-travel powers Len got from the Oculus explosion. Together again, for good...*

I love every single person who reblogged this
I don’t think people realize how much of an impact this kind of support can have, I don’t think everyone knows what these little things can mean to us.
It may just be me, I don’t know. But every single time I see this on my dash or on someone’s blog or anywhere else, I kind of just breathe a sigh of relief. That’s one more person who cares. That’s one more person who doesn’t hate me.
Because it means so much, especially when all the media is spewing out is that I’m a terrible person and no one wants people like me near them. It means so much because I’m tired of people who won’t sit next to me in class, or who choose to join the longer line at the grocery store because they don’t want to be beside me and my family. It means so much when I have to lift my head any time someone says the words Islam or Muslim because I’m scared that they’ll say something that’ll hurt, when I have to pay attention to the news because who knows what so and so is saying now, who knows which of my people are being attacked now, who knows what’s going to happen to me now.
It means so much because I’ve been given the idea that the world is against me. And a huge part of it may be, but at least I’ve been reminded that some of it, just a small group of people, acknowledges that I’m a person too. That people like me are just that, people.
Maybe it’s just me, I don’t know. But now you do, so thank you for believing that I’m human when so many people don’t.
Have a great day x
Go unfollow this blog all you want, I am reblogging this.

For the chibi post: How about Trickster (James, not Axel) with one of those multicolored spiral lollipops?
Thank you very much! He's just darling!
If the New52 Rogues got powers from their weapons being merged with them... then was that device an ancient prototype of the Humanifold?
That’s an excellent question. Within the New 52 story itself I doubt the issue was given much thought, since the New 52 threw out as much Flash continuity as it could in its effort to be fresh and different. But now that DC’s at least acknowledging previous continuity and kinda-sorta trying to wrap it back into the current universe, I think a person could make that argument. It’s certainly a compelling idea, and makes a lot of sense.
For those unsure of what the Humanifold is, that’s the device which took the Rogues’ weapons and empowered Anthony Gambi into becoming the Replicant.
Figured that it wasn't on purpose; I'd been researching Tony Gambi, and the New52 story just popped into my head as "hey, that looks familiar". Doubt Tony will return, considering how long Paul Gambi (who has a lot more history with the Rogues and DCU) remained dormant?
lego-joker replied to your photoset: The truth about the “cure” for Two-Face, from…
One, I need to track down and read this mini first. Two, *why* do so many writers keep injecting comic-book superscience into what is arguably Bruce’s most grounded rogue?
Yes, please do read it for yourself. I am anxious to hear your thoughts, especially given how many classic rogues Snyder brings out of obscurity for this tale.
Secondly, Snyder has a tendency to want to really, deeply reinvent the classic rogues, if his take on the Joker as possibly being an immortal, centuries-old supernatural creation is any indication. I’m not surprised that he tried to use some kind of ridiculous super-science in order to explain away some manner of “cure” for Harvey’s mental illness.
That said, since when is Harold Allnut–savant mechanic–also supposedly a brilliant neurological chemist?
Oh God that resolution… Now I’m not a Bio Chemist but I call bullshit. As someone who required hormone injections and has known people that require daily or weekly injections of various chemicals for Multiple Sclerosis, Cerebral Palsy, etc. If the fictional chemical does what its supposed to do The injection would be AT BEST a first dose to suppress a personality. Of course its supposed to “Work on Oxycotin” but that makes no sense as far as I can tell because Oxycotin is a painkiller which doesn’t even have “mood swings” as a side effect giving even the slightest credulity to “The Chemistry that makes us Compassionate or Selfish.” While the stated Idea of killing off “weaker” neurotransmitters makes sense, fun fact: NEUROTRANSMITTERS DO NOT HAVE MORAL ALIGNMENT. You can’t kill the good or bad ones, hell a neuro-acid would affect even healthy transmitters. Cyanide works the same way, does injecting it into an arm destroy only the weak neurotransmitters? NO! IT KILLS YOU! Hell, Even in most cases you would need enough of the acids injected or whatever to effect said transmitters. Its why drug use can effect a body physically over time. Even for Comic Book Science this is bad. Actually, I would have loved it if the resolution had been Bruce injecting Harvey with the purported “cure” only for it to not work anyway. and for Batman to outright say “Neurotransmitters don’t work that way.” Although a much better constructed climax would have been preferable. I dunno. I only read the first issue in full before deciding on waiting for Trade to pick it up, maybe this would have been better if I continued to read past Issue One, but this is a letdown after what felt like pretty great buildup in that issue alone.
Well, let’s not forget that this story is written by the same guy who wrote Batman: The Black Mirror. That’s the story which ended with James Gordon Jr. spiking the water supply with a drug that would supposedly, irreversibly turn an entire generation of Gothamites into psychopaths, a drug which James Jr. reverse-engineered from an anti-psychotic medication he was on that stopped working once he stopped taking it. If the drug stopped working once he stopped taking it, why would the Bizarro version of the drug permanently affect the Gothamites who drank it? It makes no damn sense.
I think that they meant oxytocin, which does contribute to social bonds; oxycontin is the painkiller. But that still wouldn't be enough to help Harvey. Especially not with Batman's description that neither personality can gain the upper hand, so it will never be settled... not while Harvey lives.
Which leaves me with a terrible feeling that Batman's pushing Harvey into despair, trying to convince Harvey that there's only one way left for him to ensure Two-Face no longer is a threat to Gotham. Because if Harvey destroys himself to take out Two-Face... well, that blood isn't on Batman's hands. Is it?
Look to your left. The first thing you see is what you would hoard as a dragon.
Books... but I already hoard those anyway. :)
how can Superman go to court and have his face plastered all over the news and nobody turn to Clark Kent and be like you know what you look just like this guy
like please tell me that’s gonna come up
That is preposterous.
Clark Kent wears glasses
Clark Kent’s gonna take off his glasses to clean them or something and someone in the office is gonna scream and say he looks like Superman and he’s like huh as he puts his glasses back on and they’re gonna be like oh never mind I guess
Actually, Clark holds himself so drastically different as Clark than he does as Superman that people don’t seem to recognize them as the same person. Also, as someone who grew up with someone with glasses, if you only know someone when they wear them, seeing them without is disorientating enough to not recognize him. Comics are weird.
Clark is a couple of inches shorter than Superman, because he holds himself differently. Clark’s clothing is artfully bagged and tailored to hide Superman’s muscles. Clark’s moves are a bit clumsy, a bit skittish, while Superman strides with confidence. Clark’s weaker voice sounds nothing like Superman’s deeper, more powerful one.
It’s not just the glasses. It’s never been just the glasses.
I’ll never understand why the majority of men are convinced women don’t enjoy sex.
Maybe because of the still-lingering standards that "good" women had to see sex as an unpleasant chore, only necessary for them to be mothers. (Close your eyes, and think of England...) Any women who dared admit that they enjoyed sex were "evil temptresses", trying to lure men to destruction.
Men might be allowed sometimes to relieve their "needs" with those temptresses, but they were supposed to marry the virgins, the ones who signed their lives and loyalties over to only that one man's benefit. Those good women did not have “needs” like men did.
Many male-ruled cultures over time feared and came to hate the power that women's beauty and sexuality might exert over men, so they had to tame it... or claim that it was evil. Think of Eve, of Pandora, of Salome, of Mata Hari.
Not that I agree that these attitudes are right, but ideas that were built up and reinforced over millenia are not that easy to disassemble?
