I don't have a dream job. I want to be a fairy and sleep in a tulip

tumblr tuesday: stop and smell the flowers
So yesterday wasâŠyesterday. But why should roses have all the fun? Letâs all just take a moment to stop the scroll, smell the flowers (metaphorically, at least), and maybe we can collectively dream spring into existence. (Southern Hemisphere, Iâm sorry. Youâre warm, and so this missive is not for you. But please enjoy the pretty art regardless).

Our friend @elevatedspaces just sent along some new photos from a recently finished project. He writes:
âAfter Californiaâs wildfires vaporized our previous cabin we havenât quite been ready to invest much emotion or money into rebuilding. Still, Molly (my wife) and I were yearning to build something with friends, so I worked up this little A-frame hut thatâs super-efficient with time and materials.Â
Itâs just under 120 square feet (meaning it wonât require a permit in many areas) and used only $2500 in materials. (Yes, thatâs 2022 prices.) None of the roof panels needed to be cut and most of the plywood are full sheets. Ours is half suspended in a couple of redwoods with Garnier Limbs, but it obviously doesnât have to be. The siding is Canadian hemlock and the floors and ceiling are cheap plywood. The queen-size bed frame is pine boards and 2x4s, and the bedside tables are built from the scrap furring and siding. We built the whole thing over two weekends and I have to say it felt very rewarding to stand in a structure with our friends, under a roof that didnât exist just that morning. Like old timesâ.
