Age four. Your neighbor and favorite playmate, Han Jisung, pushed you so hard on the swings at your neighbourhood playground that you literally flew out of your plastic curved seat and bruised your knees, elbows, and chin. 

Maybe you did had it coming from continuously complaining that he ‘pushed like a sissy’ and even standing up on the swing set just to brag that you can balance all of your body weight on such flimsy material. Maybe your neighbor has always had a secret grudge on you finally enacted through this incident. Either way, the next thing you knew, a wide-eyed Jisung was on your side alternating between calling for adult help, crying over your bruises, and muttering curses he probably heard from his older brother under his breath. 

“Shit, shit shit…” He squeaked out frantically in his tiny voice, gently moving you to a sitting position on the stone pavement and dusting the dirt off of your bleeding injuries despite your loud complaints that your entire body was hurting. Looking around your surroundings, his breath then got caught up in his throat at seeing your mother fast-approaching with a mix of furious and worried in her expression. “Auntie! Help!”

papa's fault 👼 | maknae line toddler au

notes: ignore that i was away for over a month i have academic anxiety and tend to obsess over school work (｡ŏ﹏ŏ) but here's a drabble for the maknae line toddler au! it's kinda bad, but i'll return with a (slightly) better one! happy christmas eve 🎄

"dear god. . ." you mumbled under your breath upon entering your home.

clothes were piled up on the floor. the sofa cushions were thrown around the living room. you could see the sink overflowing with plates from where you stood. your children were playing tag and chose jeongin as the 'it' in their underwear (despite a bit wobbly and at high risk of tripping, he tries his best to keep up with his brothers).

most of all, your husband was nowhere to be seen.

you were gone for three days and came back to a disaster of a home.

"mama!" jeongin was the first one to notice you and give a huge grin, his growing milkteeth showing up. he wobbled to your direction and that was when your other children turned their attention to you.

"uh oh. . ." you heard hyunjin whisper. you picked up jeongin to greet him and looked back at your two older sons.

"do you mind telling me what happened here?" you asked. jeongin giggled in your arms. the two of them looked at each other and said. . .

"it was papa!"

"papa's fault! he brought other kids here—" seungmin immediately brought a hand to hyunjin's mouth at the mention of other kids.

"papa said not to tell about felix and sungie!" you heard seungmin loudly whisper to his older brother. you found seungmin's reply ironic.

"felix and sungie? and where's papa?" you asked in your 'intimidating' tone, as what seungmin called it when he learned about the word.

"taking a bath! innie puked on him," hyunjin explained, pointing at the giggly baby in your arms. no wonder he's in a good mood.

"well, what's the answer to the other question?" you asked again, picking up stray clothes from the floor with your foot and placing it on the cushionless couches. you're going to have to do the laundry later.

"umm. . .they're our friends," seungmin explained, albeit a little unsure. you decided not to stress them out and just ask your missing-in-action husband later.

for now, chores.

you asked hyunjin to look after jeongin for a while, much to the baby's chagrin. your suitcase was left forgotten by the front door as you shook your coat off and rolled your sleeves for some greasy plates cleaning.

halfway through soaping up the utensils, you heard a gasp from several feet away. the heavy footsteps told you it was your husband, and true enough, he was there standing by the archway, mouth agape in shock.

"honey!" he nervously greeted, taking a step towards you but falling short when you shot him with a, "do not 'honey' me, bang."

"come on, really? you're a bang too, you know," he whined, deciding to take any hits you'd attempt as he shuffles closer. "i'll help you with that."

"what the hell happened here, chan?" you asked, your tone incredulous. "i left for three days and came back to your college dorm."

"you're reaching. it wasn't as bad as before," he said offended, washing the plates and placing them on a drying rack next to him. "the kids just had friends over. there were five kids and one adult; cut me some slack."

"and why didn't i hear about this playdate?" you asked again, finishing up by sponging the sink and washing the soap away.

"well, i did! but you passed out while we were facetiming. . ." he reasoned, and suddenly it was your fault now. realization dawned on your face. in your defense, the meeting took over eight hours and the businessmen loved making misogynistic jokes thinking you'd laugh. well you did, but it was so you could seal the bag.

and seal the bag you did. passing out was your prize.

"okay," you simply said, patting your hands dry. "now, give me a welcome home kiss and carry me to our room. i'm dead tired."

chan chuckled. "yes, your highness."

"and don't forget the mess in the living room."

and the inquiry about the children's friends left your mind as you drifted into dreamland.

day 22 - bang chan

Coughing, you watched your husband lift up several dusty bins, the contents causing the plastic to bulge at the sides. Each box was labeled with its respective contents; ‘houses’ for miniature houses, ‘street stuff’ for lamp posts and other assortments, ‘people’ for figurines – the list went on.

“We need to dust this room more,” you mumbled behind the sleeve you had brought up to cover your nose. Chan let out a gruff noise, his attention too focused on making sure none of the items fell from his arms.

The two of you carefully exited the storage closet in your living room before closing the door behind you and making sure that nothing was falling over on the shelves. Turning back to Chan, you watched him bend down to place the bins on the floor, a soft thud sounding through the hardwood floors.

Glancing over to you, Chan gave you a sheepish grin, one of his hands coming up to scratch the back of his head.

“Decoration time?” His voice was filled with humor, the teasing edge egging a smile onto your face. Hurriedly, the two of you opened the boxes, a fresh wave of dust puffing up at your faces. Waving your hand around in the air, you let out a brief cough before quickly recovering and admiring the small village houses.

Each box was filled to the brim with beautiful miniature houses; their plastic frames bedazzled with fake snow and light-up windows, some having their own mechanical assets. It was everything that you two adored, especially during the holiday season.

The next several hours were filled with Christmas music buzzing faintly in the background along with soft giggles occasionally erupting from the both of you as you teased one another. Nothing felt like home more than Chan’s laugh did. It had taken roughly one full playlist and two cups of tea for the two of you to finally finish setting the village up.

Backing away from your masterpiece, you and Chan fell back onto the couch, smiles adorning your faces as you both admired your work. The sun was far gone by the time you had finished, so the only light in the room was the warm glow of the village lights along with a dimly lit lamp next to the table. 

What really wrapped it all together, though, was the arm that had wiggled around your shoulders before pulling you in. As your face met Chan’s chest, you looked up to meet his eyes, the reflection of the lights shining beautifully. 

“I love you,” he whispered, before leaning in to plant a gentle kiss on your nose. You let out a breathy laugh before replying.

“I love you too.”

It’s really hard to describe, you just smell like…Jisung.” He let out a few soft giggles and placed a gentle kiss on my forehead, “alright baby…go to bed.”

what she means: jisung once literally passed out because he was practicing too hard and his teacher had to take him to the hospital. he’s been writing and producing music with 3RACHA since he was 16 years old and has now just gone through a fucking survival show and a whole debut at just seventeen. he helped his teammates write their predebut mixtape, debut album, and now he helped compose every single one of the tracks on their comeback album. he’s an INCREDIBLE singer, a PHENOMENAL rapper, and a suPERB dancer, and it is so evident how much effort he puts into his craft and how much love he has for each and every single one of his teammates. he’s so young still but has so much in him and gives so much of what he has and still remains one of the absolute most selfless kids to exist in this earth he is made entirely of stardust warmth and clean laundry and when he laughs he scrunches up his arms and knees to his chest and his whole body shakes… there is so much joy and sunlight in his smile and he probably possesses THE most kissable cheeks in the entire world and also universe and every moment he is not actively being hugged loved and told that he’s beautiful is a moment wasted

slowly, you nodded. “okay. . .but how do i know which formula to use?”

“it’s usually already stated in the problem, just like this one. if not, look out for keywords such as below or above. you know the keywords, right?” you let out a strangled huff, resting your back on the couch. the two of you were sat on the floor, and your boyfriend kindly offered to help you study with calculus since he couldn’t cuddle you–not when you were so focused on maths yet not actually absorbing any information.

you sat back up, a determined expression on your face. “okay, i think i’m ready. hit me with a problem, baby.” changbin shook his head at your silliness, but gave you what you asked.

for a few minutes, you stayed silent; only the sounds of your mechanical pen scribbling could be heard, until you let out an exasperated sigh. “hit a slump?” changbin asked as he continued scrolling through instagram.

“this value is weird,” you complained, redoing the solution. “i’m going to do it again.” changbin peeked at your paper and frowned.

“no, no: you were already correct. the value is weird because the given variables were big to begin with,” he explained. you gasped rather dramatically.

“me? getting something right in math?! damn, how come i learn more from you than from professor yoo. . .” you grumbled, continuing your original solution. when you showed your answer to changbin, he took some time to analyze, before nodding proudly and petting your head.

“good job, baby. you can join a maths quiz now,” he said, earning a snort from you. nevertheless, you squealed and attacked your boyfriend from the sides. he tumbled down on the floor with a groan, his body wrapped in your arms.

“thanks a lot, binnie! what will i do without my smart boyfriend. . .” you dramatically said, earning a laugh from him.

“i’m a limited edition, so don’t lose me,” he joked, hugging you back. the two of you were still on the floor.

“of course i won’t! i snagged a handsome genius, what more could i ask for?”

“oh shut up, dorkie.”
