Hi, I'm a latecomer to The Lost World fandom (circa 2021) and believe saw your name across various places? I apologize if this is forward, but since thelostworldfanforum is offline now, maybe if you were connected with anyone in the old groups, there might be some who'd like to know that Michael Sinelnikoff (Summerlee) passed away this year (July 2024). I saw he kindly commented a few times on the forums (before it went offline) and maybe they would like to express condolences? Thank you.

Sorry to respond so late, I don't come here as often. Most of the people I know knew about Michael's passing. Thank you for thinking of other fans.

ao3 is not instagram, and it’s not embarrassing to comment on a story that’s old. we understand that you just happened to come across it now; writing is magical in that you often come across the right story at just the time you need to read it.

also, authors will literally cry over their keyboard if you comment on the stuff they write.

#this is one of the hardest things to learn#and one of the most painful things to accept#you can’t love someone’s mental illness away#but you can love them through it and with it#and you can love them on bad days and good days and nothing days and everything days#and that’s more important really

All. Of. This!!! You don't even need to understand the mental illness, just love the person UNCONDITIONALLY, period. Knowing I am loved is what gets me through most of my days, even the bad ones. Understanding the mental illness lies to your loved one and makes it hard for them helps. BUT even if you don't understand that, love them. Don't force your expectations onto them. It's not our job to live up to someone else's expectations.
