It feels like Verizon is tolling out “Closing Time” into the world wide web. Once again, adult creators are shuffled off a social media coil.

I loved you for a long time, Tumblr, and even though I left you earlier this year, I thought you’d always be there in the background, humming along to the sound of vibrators and alpaca memes. I can’t believe ALL nudity is being removed from here, in the name of “inclusion and welcome,” although given the current state of things, I sadly can believe it.

Everywhere I look I see regression, I see a backslide from progressive ideals. I saw change firsthand here in the US, then I saw Britain, and Brazil, and now China, tightening the fists of “traditional” control. Even though I understand the reasons for this shift, I deeply disagree with it. Sexuality should sit side by side next to the rest of the human condition. And Tumblr made sex a community experience, in the words of FourChamber’s Vex.

I’m not interested in being traditional, and I think many of you here aren’t interested in it either. I hope you’ll join me elsewhere, while we still have a few safe spaces.
