idk I can tell that some tumblrinas are not up on fat politics because I see a lot of people saying stuff like “it’s better to be a little fat than waste your life trying to be thin” or like “it’s chic to have a little belly” like okay but there are fat people who are “a lot fat” and have “a lot of belly” which everyone is weirdly silent on all the time. Like the fattest person on earth still deserves to exist in human society with joy and dignity regardless of how they got to that weight or how many health conditions they have as a result of their personal actions…that should be everyone’s baseline here I’m not really sure what’s complicated about it

I think when sincerity (of emotion) is frequently mocked by society as immaturity, it's easy to lean on irony as a means of distancing oneself from notions of weakness. In turn, the ability to be genuine is a skill that needs to be reframed and relearned, not as a marker of immaturity, but as fidelity to yourself and your own needs.

And like, on an alterhuman level, splitting hairs on whether a line of thought or behavior is non-human or not is... complicated. I hesitate to say all of me is non-human because I also recognize that a lot of my own behaviors are masks I developed to deal with chronic ostracization *as* a gender ambiguous neurodivergent of color. Who I present as, and subsequently my relationship to my ~self~, isn't insincere per se, but its also a work in progress learning to *sit* with everything and being sincere to who I am when no ones looking. I have found the anger to be human, but the acceptance to be more (than just my flesh).
