First up on my review-to-do-list is something not phone related.
I know lol.
Anywho, as the summer set in, I decided to try a new do - midback length senegalese twists. Although I loved the do, the length posed a problem for my normal beauty supply showercaps. I tried all sorts and with no luck. Showers almost became dreaded (NO, I still showered lol). Wet twists weren't working out so I began looking for better shower caps and stumbled upon: Celestial Crowns.
I thank YouTube and Google for helping me find this company.
Celestial Crowns, owned by an incredibly sweet and kindhearted woman named Miss Margie, specializes in shower caps and sleeping caps for those of us rocking dreds, twists, braids, long hair and the like but have trouble finding larger accomodating sizes.
Her caps run in mini, large and x-large. However the mini is far from mini. For my midback twists, this cap had more than enough room! For my first order, I purchased the mini cap in her owl print but accidentally received a large.
Review Time:
The cap came with a personalized note - handwritten as well! Personal touches and direct owner-customer interactions are always things that resonate well with me.
First Impressions: Beautiful packaging and resilient feeling material. Things were a plus so far.
To get an idea of the sturdiness of the material, it is very similar to a thick shower curtain.
To understand how large the Large sized cap is, here it is next to my 20"x20" pillow:
The Large is very large.
So I hopped into the shower to give it a test and YUP! It lives up to the hype! No more wet ends, crown or nape!
Update: So I've had this shower cap as well as another one I ordered in the Mini for about two months now and I must say that shower cap is as wonderful as day one! VERY durable material, tight & secure stitching and strong elastic.
I give this shower cap 10/10 and I recommend this shower cap line to anyone with long hair or anyone seeking a durable and long-lasting cap.
A very special friend bought me this gift and sent it as a surprise :)
Opinions on the Seller:
Since this wasn't bought by me, I unfortunately can't give a review on the seller. However, I know it was bought from Groupon; they mixed up his order so the case took (If I heard & remember correctly) almost 3 weeks to get to me from his initial order date. Not good Groupon *thumbs down*
Grade?: Can't really give one -_-
Case Opinions:
I must say I luv this case so far! It was ordered in the Carol Green color because it reminded the buyer of an Arizona Iced Tea can lol. Anywho, the case is what I'd call a hybrid. It has a silicone inside with a hard shell that fits over it.
It definitely reminded me of a OtterBox. But what I luved the most was the lack of all that bulk! >.<
The cut outs are easy to access by flipping the flaps along the bottom, which keeps ports protected. And the lock button and volume keys are very responsive and easy to used based on the soft silicone that surrounds them.
One thing to notice and what has made me keep this case on so long is the softness/smoothness. I don't know what the hard shell is made from, but it almost feels like silk! No fingerprints show up and I've yet to see a scratch or sign of wear & tear.
The case also has a raised edge design to keep the screen safe in the event of placing your phone face down. Another plus.
Grade?: This case gets a 9/10. Hands down. My only two negatives about the case are 1) I don't like the color LOL. I know that's subjective but it takes a .5 from my rating.
The next thing is 2) I'm seriously a non-bulk person. What I luved about the new ip5 was the sleekness to the design. I noticed that when I put the case on, it seemed to become the same width as my ip4 O_O.
Or is it just me? lol
Anyways, I luv the case & it was a great lil gift :) I like how the black silicone compliments my black ip5. I'd definitely try the red one or maybe another color. You can check out the pink on my good friend's page - Bee.
I would say if you're looking for added protection like an OtterBox with less of a brick feel and less of a pocket drain, this is the definite case to get.
I recently bought this case from this ebay seller. I was initially looking for this case that my wonderful friend Bee re-blogged on her tumblr.
Opinions on the Seller:
I never buy things from sellers that don't have a lot of feedback. And usually it's wise to buy this way, but (because of over-eagerness maybe? lol) I clicked "buy" and didn't even look at ratings.
When I ordered the case, it was advertised in a way that made it seem like I would get both cases at the listed price. However, that wasn't the case but I brought the issue to the seller's attention. The seller was very understanding and without question, rectified the error and sent me both cases. This was beyond nice and I appreciated the help. The seller was also courteous and professional and for that I'd highly recommend this new ebay lister to anyone. Plus, on top of that, shipping was incredibly fast.
Grade?: A well deserved 10/10.
Case Opinions:
First, this case is very comparable to the Elago S5 case. They both have a very slim & sleek design that makes the phone keep its signature look. Both have the same bottom and top portion wide cut outs that prevent obstruction to both sound quality and buttons. The Elago and Air Jacket both have the same "lifted edge" design that protects the screen if the phone was ever placed screen side down.
The Air Jacket was advertised as "Pink" but as one could see (hopefully in the pics as well) it is more of a deep red mixed with pink that has it look red compared to my S5 in Hot Pink. In the sun, however, there are flakes of hot pink sparkles in the case which makes it very pretty! (Couldn't get the effect on camera though :{ )
What I like more about the Air Jacket is the cute apple logo cut out vs. the wide circle on the Elago. I just like that more distinct design more.
The plastic on the Elago, however, seems just a slight bit more stiff than the Air Jacket; but the difference is very very subtle.
Grade? : I'd give the case a 8/10 just because I wish the plastic was a bit more rigid but I luv the case so far!
To speak on both cases, I wish both the Elago and Air Jacket covered more of the bezel on the top of the phone & bottom (since the i5 bezel in Black seems to be scratch-prone) but so far I've had no problems!
