Howdy folks. Just like to mention that I’m still very much around. But my energy levels IRL have dropped immensely to the point where it’s very difficult for me to get on the computer and RP on Tumblr. Discord’s been a lot quicker for me, since it’s moreso chat-based and it doesn’t drain my data off my phone at all. 

I’m definitely still around, but because of this, it’s just hard to find regular times to post replies. 

If you’d like to keep in contact for the near future, you may add me here. I strongly encourage it if you want to talk OOC, or possibly even do IC things since I’ll more likely than not agree to doing whatever~

I’ll accept anyone so long as you tell me who you are.

"mr. Volkner. I'm not used to havin' electric types. But my Raichu keeps zappin me."

“Hmm? Zapping you, huh?”

It takes a lot of his self-control not to smile or laugh. Raichus were quite troublesome. Many of them wished to be stubborn and refuse to listen to anybody except the best electric type specialists. This one seemed like it was no exception.

“That’s rather normal. It’s something you have to tough out, or maybe Raichus might not be for you. They’re high energy, often stubborn, though they respond well to mastery, especially of the electric type. At the very least, I’m sayin’ you shouldn’t worry if it’s not immediately liking you. That’s typical.”

He’s simply gonna let it happen for a few minutes, silently brooding. After he was sure the other wouldn’t move that much, he’d simply turn to the side to deposit him onto the floor.

“You mind?”

Volkner’s not one to shy away from body contact, to a certain degree. This was taking it to an extreme. Volkner had asked for help from the other, mainly because he knew he could count on Morty to do the job right... However, upon asking him to help Volkner with screwing in a bolt practically inside a nearby vent... It seemed as though they were stuck. Every time Volkner would try to back out, Morty’s body would move in a way that blocked him. It was funny to an extent, but he really did want to get out to finish the job.

“Your ass is in the way again. Normally I wouldn’t mind but...”

        “Indeed I have. I suspected someone         who so qualified like yourself would         typically be busy, so you get a pass.”         It was true, and the patience on Siebold         was practically nonexistent. He could         sense the obvious disinterest in Volkner's          face. A SHAME, truly. Siebold knew a         certain gym leader was among the best         in working with electrical work, thus such         superior skill was a must to setting up the         restaurant. Siebold was lucky to have had         his request accepted. He held no real         plans to bother Volkner too much, but         keeping out of the man’s hair entirely         was NO PROMISE. Siebold had no         intention to get back to the hotel room         any time soon, so he would continue         to enjoy the view and…er…supervise?         “And surely you know what you are here         to do, correct?”

There’s nothing more than a simple nod from the gym leader as Volkner allows himself to be complimented. The blonde is well aware of his talents, though he always promised that he would help others out, even if he would rather be sleeping or ignoring responsibilities for the day. It got him out and about and gave him purpose. To be complimented world-wide was simply a bonus to Volkner.

“I think I do. Then again, no offense, but...” 

Volkner sticks one hand into his pocket as blue eyes quickly scan the restaurant’s front. It was fine... But that was all it was. It could be better. Perhaps he should just offer to do the ‘whole package’ and not have to come back again for technical work in the future.

“I could have this place lit up a bit fancier too while I’m here if that’s somethin’ you’re interested in. You’re the boss here, right? All I’d need is permission and a vision.”

The blonde’s fingers rub against his temples as he tries to process what he’d been asked to do. Well, it was acceptable based on the rules of the game, so, he wouldn’t be one to decline.

“Fine. You want me to do what with my hair exactly? And will there be pictures taken? Because that’s a deal breaker. I’ll admit it’s not the worst thing I’ve ever been dared to do. But you’re rather cruel aren’t you? Heh.”

📖 There isn't much writing about him besides what she has heard referring to Volkner, and even less about their interactions. But there's an entire paragraph dedicated to a deep admiration to the Gym Leader and a immense interest to know more about him. Maybe she also wants to take a picture or even paint a portrait.

Cliche Things

“... Well, that’s a thing.”

There’s a long pause, as Volkner closes the book and puts it into a nearby drawer for better hiding. He wasn’t quite expecting all that ‘feelsy’ stuff about him. Volkner would have to admit that he felt touched by the other’s words, and though he would never admit it out loud nor let it get to his ego, he would have to show the other some appreciation as subtly as possible.

“Actually... I’ve got a decent idea...”

He mumbles to himself, takes a picture of himself smiling as bright as he could manage on his phone, then leaves it face up with the picture still displayed for her to come back to. That might get the ball rolling.

“Now that you mention it…”

Volkner holds up a finger in order to silence the other as his eyes gaze over to the window. Was it a rabid pokemon or a trainer? It was too dark outside to tell, and although Volkner wasn’t too afraid of who might be out there, he certainly did feel nervous.

“Mmm… Should I turn on the outside lights to scare it off?”

Blue eyes refuse to move from the other as the electric specialist freezes, a wrench fixed around a part of Volkner’s latest contraption. He obviously hadn’t tested it yet, but he wasn’t worried about any ‘consequences’. This wasn’t the first time he’d been told this, and it most likely wouldn’t be the last. Did people think yelling at him like this would deter him in any way?

“Now are you gonna help me, or move outta the way? Busy here y’know...”

“I completely understand you.” To say that Cyrus knows about Sunyshore City’s progress from the old time until now is an understatement. He knows of the city’s management inside out, funded those developments. Always, always he’s tied with this town of his. Years of not looking back and yet he always mingles in this very place. A part of him still wanting to show that impossibility to his parents, but all his works were done anonymously. All ties are to be severed, his business in this city should not be anybody else’s concern except his.

“I’ve known this city since it was just a town by the shore, when you can still gaze at the stars without interruption from the light pollution. In just matters of years, towering buildings began to be constructed here and there. I’ve known this city for a long time.”

He doesn’t want this nostalgia, doesn’t need it. This ugly emotion invokes unnecessary memories. He does not require a trip down the memory lane. Clear your head like the glass of water in your hand, Cyrus. This is not why you’re here.

What were you here for exactly?

“The city may have changed, but you are correct to say that its people remain the same.”

Always, always there is something too bright and overwhelming in this city.

“I’m glad we’re on the same page then. Ya don’t seem half bad, if I may be so forward. It’s rather refreshing. You know, you can really tell which people have a better understanding of this city. I suppose that’s common for each city, or region for that matter...”

Volkner brings the glass to his lips, taking in another small mouthful of alcohol. The taste is familiar and welcome in his mouth. To him, a small amount is all he needs to have a clear mind, though a couple of his acquaintances have tried to persuade the electric specialist into having more than he would prefer. Today he would not be pushing himself.

“Many of the buildings you see here, at least the taller, more modern ones, are in part my doing. They may not have a rustic charm like some other places in our region, but I don’t happen to mind modernity in moderation. Still, unlike other places which try to upgrade for aesthetic, many of my upgrades were for the betterment of the city. For example, running the city entirely on solar power in abundance...”

       One could see the whole of JUBLIFE CITY         from here. A successful opening and smooth         close for the night, Siebold felt he was         becoming USED to this process. He stays         behind, in no hurry in particular. Soaking         in the lights of the CITYSCAPE, bathing the         walls of the outside seating area in gentle         and ever-changing colors.         NOW was the perfect time to pour himself         a glass of wine, or have a smoke.         Unfortunately, with only an unopened         bottle of PINOT GRIS in his grasp, he         notices SOMEONE approach within the         dimmed establishment. Siebold straightens         his stance, professional and confident.         “Bonjour, welcome to-   oh.”         Two realizations hit him grievously. Working         hours were over, and this restaurant had         been closed for a while now, so only a select         few could be here. Second, the other was―         “You are…the gym leader of SUNYSHORE         CITY, non?”

“Hmm?” 

The gym leader’s voice gives off the impression that he’s tired, disinterested by the fascinating city in which he’d been asked to visit for some electrical work. He’d been here many times before, and although he would never get tired of the nightlife here, the hustle and bustle of the city wasn’t quite his thing.

Upon entering the restaurant that he’d been given directions for, he’d been greeted and identified rather quickly. A part of Volkner felt rather bad that he couldn’t quite recognize others who recognized him. It was surely in part because of his strength and position as Sinnoh’s ‘strongest’ gym leader... But he really should begin to remember others.

“Yeah, that’s me. Volkner. Sorry for being slightly late. Another job ran a little longer than usual. Tough bein’ the most reliable person that can work with electrical equipment in pretty much most regions. Ah, but it gets me out and about I guess. You were informed of my arrival or what?”
