more flag creators should look into vector software because there's so many flags i see with pixellated low resolution symbols and unintentionally messed up lines and the part of me that took graphic design courses cries out in pain every time

Embracing my truest self as the no-fun stick-in-the-mud miserable buzzkill motherfucker that I am. I don't owe you pretend happiness.
"I'm not an anti im NORMAL" first, no you're not you're just so insulated in your friend group that you think it's 'normal' to treat other people like shit for using fiction in ways you find uncomfortable, second, avoiding the label of anti doesn't change your actions, so you're still kind of dreadful to be around regardless.
Third, stop using "normal" as a goodness gauge for the love of god. Stand by your principles and don't fall back on being right because lots of people think what you think. It's cowardly.

Very funny for people to say to me "FICTION DOES AFFECT REALITY ACTUALLY" as if my headmates arent 90% fictives. Yeah we know.
I'm going deep undercover (logs into the host's main acc and plays nice with their mutuals)
Now hear me out. What if I just unfollow the anti mutuals on our main hm. What then
"You people" I don't even consider myself rq tbh!! God forbid I point out paramisia and transmisia when I see it
"If you keep getting termed stop coming back"
Except that the current trend of rq blogs being termed is being driven by automated systems based on mass reporting. Many haven't recieved any reason for their termination, even when they reach out to ask staff.
"We don't like you" isn't a good enough reason to erase someone from a platform, sorry. Block and move on.
okay I've finally formulated this feeling into words,
the thing about the "do it scared" mantra is that depending on your specific brand of brainweird, you may have to first,,, learn to be,,, scared. and also the difference between general anxiety and legitimate alarms.
like, I tried to do everything scared for basically all my life and it mainly led to a series of breakdowns because I was so allergic to my own emotions, fear being one of them, that I had almost no connection to my wants/needs/gut instincts, and therefore simply couldn't cope with Situations.
anyway I'm not saying it's a bad policy, I think it is really good in fact, but if you are trying it and finding things keep imploding for no reason, could be worth checking whether you are even letting yourself be scared in the first place.
Yep! As a therapist, âdo it scaredâ is helpful for people with anxiety disorders- provided they are able to process their distress! The âdo it scaredâ approachâs goal is to help people understand that their fear doesnât control them and that actually being afraid isnât a bad and doesnât prevent them from doing things they want to do. Which means that if youâre not able to recognize and process your fear, the exposure doesnât work.
Modifications to this approach involve mindfulness (specifically learning what fear feels like, how distressing it is, what triggers it, why the fear happens) as well as learning your zone of tolerance, because if youâre pushing yourself into the point of sheer mindless terror, thatâs not helpful. Also, anxiety stemming mainly from trauma can benefit from the âdo it scaredâ approach sometimes, but it tends to need trauma work along with it.
Has anyone coined/made a flag for transcanadian??
Update i just made a little thing since i still wasnt able to find a different one
Why do ppl call it "dead dove content" when "dead dove: do not eat" just means "Check the tags for warnings." In fact why does it exist at all? When did people stop looking at the tags to determine whether they want to read something or not? Why not just use "darkfic" and "hurt no comfort" and "whump" and "angst" alongside other specific warning tags that apply to the work? Since you're already doing it anyway? Why are we reminding people to check the tags all the time? If a reader fails to check an adequately tagged work, that's on them. It's like some kind of shift happened when I wasn't looking. I'm not like.. a fandom founder or anything what Happened when did it become an indicator meaning "this is not your mommy's fluff fic"
I agree that we shouldn't need to have a tag that tells readers to read the tags, but i like the DD:DNE tag because it shows fics that deal with terribly heavy themes and i like reading them :')
Its purpose as a cateory to search FOR makes the most logical sense personally which I hadn't considered yet. Still, a lot of people in the notes are repeating "because thats how you know we MEAN it" and "because they don't take the tags seriously otherwise" which is exactly the issue I have with using/misusing DD:DNE for placating antis. I think it's a bizarre trend that there are people, a lot of them, that refuse to read tags (or do read them, but disregard them and get mad when the scary fic has scary things in it) unless it has One Specific Tag. And I suppose that is what I'm really complaining about here, not the use of DD:DNE in and of itself.
Anyways: definitely not a useless tag like I once thought, thanks!
Headmates' mutual pitching a fit over people doing the Crime of shipping icky yucky ew things how should I tell them the alter they interact with most is literally dating his sister in here
Sigh being proship in the s0nic fandom is exhausting
