What else to do if you visit Jangseong County ? Undoubtedly head to the Confucian Seowon school - Pilam Seowon . My friend told me that this is the place where Korean aristocracy would send their children to study in order to hold national civil service examinations and later on achieve some positions in bureaucracy. The architecture of the construction is very simple but it does not make it any less unique and attractive. The entrance doors to the main yard are very low, and i was told that it is probably to remind students that they must always stay humble (no matter how reach some of them are). Absolutely worth visiting for those who are interested in Korean culture, Confucian traditions and education system.
