New page of Sunpiercer (Issue 1 Page 8) now live! Check it out on Tapastic and give it some love!
Who wants to see some really ugly WIPs??
I’ve been really excited to start introducing more of the characters in Sunpiercer, so naturally I couldn’t wait for when they’re actually introduced, I had to give a little sneak peak.
First image is from the next page of Sunpiercer, which is currently in the tightening pencils phase. This is the first panel where you get introduced to Bafrib, the Kush scribe. He’s a nervous one, not really built for the life of adventure, but he has a major role to play in things to come.
The second is an early WIP shot of the cover for issue 2, which introduces one of my personal favorite characters, Ibi, the embalmer. Loneliness and insanity haunt him as his faith in Anubis is shaken by recent tragedies.
New page uploaded to Sunpiercer! (Issue One, Page 7).You can visit Sunpiercer at https://tapas.io/series/Sunpiercer - be sure to give it lots of love with follows, like, and comments!
A couple new pages of Sunpiercer are finally live! I’ve had to go on a pretty long hiatus for this due to some tight deadlines in my comics work, but I definitely want to be better about carving out some time to work on my own project. Hopefully I’ll be better about getting more pages flowing soon!
If you’re liking Sunpiercer, please do let me know, and also give it some love at

Hit those like and share buttons! Thanks!
More Sunpiercer drawings, feat. a rare glimpse at A’at’s face. Baraqa and A’at have a fairly one-sided budding romance. I’m thinking A’at’s kalasiri might need some redesigning though.
Changed up Bek’s hair. Still trying to figure out screentones.
Not really super thrilled with how this came out, just messing around with some tones. Ren and Baraqa, the crocodile siblings.
It’s official!
The first four pages of my comic, Sunpiercer! You can subscribe to the story and stay up to date at https://tapastic.com/series/Sunpiercer
Sunpiercer takes place in Ancient Egypt, more specifically in the city of Waset (known today as Thebes). The story is set in the very beginning of Tutankhamun’s reign as Pharoah, and follows the crew of a fishing barge named Sunpiercer. The fishermen of the barge are simple people, closely associated to a small Cult of Sobek just outside the city gates, but are drawn into political intrigue - and what will become a battle for their lives, as they are tasked to secretly retrieve an “artifact of the Gods” from a dangerous councilor of Tutankhamun’s father, the shamed Akhenaten. Unfortunately for our crew, they have very little idea of what exactly they’ve gotten themselves into.
New page up for Sunpiercer! Check it out!

Sunpiercer is now officially live on Tapastic!! Please feel free to go here and read the first couple of pages! More pages coming very soon!
Character Profile: Ren
Ren of Sobek is the owner and captain of the fishing barge, “Sunpiercer”. Born into a small cult located outside of the gates of Thebes, dedicated to Sobek, the crodile god. As a “child of Sobek”, Ren was raised in a harsh enviornment - the concept of “kill or be killed” instilled in him at a young age. Ren is aggressive, and sometimes cruel - to him, it is all just for the fun of it. Ren means well, however, but often doesn’t socialize well with others. During the reign of Akhenaten, Ren’s father - the caretaker of the cult at the time, created the Sunpiercer as a front to hide the cult from the monotheistic Atenists. After the fall of Akhenaten, the cult was returned to its original purpose, and command of the Sunpiercer was given to Ren. After his father’s death, Ren inherited the cult as well, but instead handed the leadership role to the loyal priestess and good friend, Aoh. Ren prefers the more simple life of a shiphand. Although small in stature, Ren has ample raw strength and a vicious killer-instinct. Ren is well-versed in fighting, preferring the brutal katar as his weapon of choice.
