Before he could find her, she immediately rushed toward him with her knife aiming right for him, but it was more playful than actually malicious, somehow.

"Heads up~!" She called. Late warning, but okay.

Telemakhos’s eyes widened, and he moved without thinking. And he just.. grabbed Solana, but thankfully not too roughly, he learned.

(Acting as if he couldn’t get stabbed, this idiot.)

Solana yelped only to stare at him with a deadpan expression. She clearly took the opening to slam the hilt of Katoptris into his wrist. Not enough to break it, she loves this idiot too damn much, but enough to hurt.

"Smart move, Prince of Ithaca." She whistled. Now she's just taunting him- "Your mentor teach you that one?"

“Damn! Jesus Christ—” Makhos you don’t even know who that is.

His eyes narrowed. “Shut up.” He said, but there was no anger behind it.

He took a deep breath and tried to calm himself down, he didn’t want to get mad… not at her. “Apologies.” He said hesitantly, rubbing his arm.

"Isn't he, like, billions of years after your time?" She raised a brow, grinning at his frustration. She's a fucking ragebaiter I love her...

She then grabbed his cheeks and squished them. "Daaw, Makhos is learning to apologize!" She cooed, before gently grabbing his definitely bruised wrist.

"Well, it's not broken, least it's not supposed to be." Reassuring. "Anyway, it was unfair of me to come at you when you're unarmed. But also, you're unarmed. So sorry, but not really, actually."

“I met the guy.” Makhos said, sarcastically.

“Sure.” He grumbled, gritting his teeth, it hurt. And he hated to admit it. So he looked at her straight-up annoyed.

IT WAS CRAMPED

And, quite frankly, hot in the stuffy closet you were shoved in. Jogging your memory to try and get a hint of how you ended up in this unsavory predicament yielded no results, and instead granted you a massive splitting headache that you really could have done without.

Looking around, above you was a singular yellow lightbulb, and some miscellaneous boxes positioned precariously on the shelf above. Your wrists were tied behind your back with your feet bound in front of you, having to be pulled up practically to your chest due to the lack of space. The air smelled faintly musty with a bit of mildew, like something you would find at an old person's home, and whoever was holding you hostage was kind enough to even provide you with a blanket. Not that it did much, as you couldn't even grab it, that is to say if you DID want it.

The yellow wallpaper was chipped.

Just as you had half a mind to scream out for help, the door suddenly opened to show your captor- a man who's face you instinctively grimaced at due to how fucked up the left side of it was. His brown hair curled over him and his eyes, though bright, were manic and almost crazed. He held a large saw by his side, which made you immediately start to realize that you could very well die right now.

"Poor lil' thing.." the man crooned out, the easy smile on his face pulling more taunt "M' sorry, junebug, I didn' wanna have to do this to you. But you know what they say- wrong place n' wrong time."

He cocked his head, humming.

"Would you like somethin' to drink? Your throat must be right dry 'bout now."

Well, this isn't the first time she's been kidnapped. At least, that's was Sola wanted to say, but she was too disoriented, dizzy, and maybe even having a headache going on. Or maybe it was just phantom pain from the brain damage she already had.

The demigoddess struggled subtly in her binds, cursing under her breath. She'd had hoped he wouldn't have thought far enough ahead to snatch up Katoptris from her belt loop, but, of course, her luck couldn't be more dry than her mouth right now. But the real panic came from something that wasn't the kidnapping or even the fact that she was definitely in a murder chamber.

Her mask was gone.

It wasn’t on her face when she woke up, and she damn sure couldn't see it in the flickering light of her prison. It didn’t help that her captor was clearly deranged in some way. Was this a monster? An agent for one? A clear-sighted mortal who kills demigods? I mean, the saw gave her a pretty good idea, and she didn't like any bit of it.

Her voice came out stern, despite how her heart hammered in her chest and her eyes darting side to side like a scared animal. "What do you want with me?"

"What are you doing here?"

He parroted, cocking his head further, good eye upturning slightly "S'rude not to answer questions when they're asked *first*, y'know." He hummed. Shrugging, his shoulder audibly crack, kneeling down to her.

"As I said, junebug, wrong place n' time." His free hand reaches out and he poked her head with his pinky, his hands cold despite the heat "You caught me while I was havin' myself dinner." He smiled wider, showing off his visibly blood stained teeth, tongue running over them "S'*also* rude to interrupt someone havin' a meal, don't you think? Your momma ever teach you manners?" He asked idly.

His good eye suddenly snaps to her's, going silent for a bit before leaning in far too close for comfort "My, my...Well I'll be." He mused, his breath smelling that of the distinct metallic odor of blood and something fakely citrus. "You're a strange lil thing, aren't ya?."

He was sure one to talk.

Solana's eyes glowed dimly as she watched him like an attack dog waiting for an order. The sarcasm clearly wasn't appreciated, nor was the touch as she jerked her head away. She then turned to him, her eyes glowing with an angry fire now. "I'll say this once, and it'll be the only time I say it: Don’t touch me." She hissed.

She slumped into her chair slightly, her eyes full of annoyance yet resignation at the same time, almost like she was expecting this sort of thing. Seemed silly, but for a girl as tense and vigilant as she is, it made sense. Always a step ahead. Well, at least she tries to be.

"This is so stereotypical," she grumbled, staring up at him with a grumpy expression. She wasn’t scared of dying, she was upset because she was bored. "You kill and cannibalize strippers because they're easy targets, I'll grovel, beg, cry I have a family, blah, blah, blah. Then you'll say some corny catchphrase, take that saw, aand—"

She lifted her leg, the best she could, then violently swung it down. "Whack. Sola's gone. A true horror movie slasher, I give you my props." She shrugged, again, the best she can.

She then raised a brow at the mention of dinner. Then her eyes dropped to his bloody teeth and sighed. "...Aand I'm spot on."

"And my family ain't none of your damn—OH GODS-!" Solana yelped and flinched back, the first time she was genuinely startled, only for her face to drop with a mix of embarrassment and annoyance, now equally split between being toward him and toward herself for showing emotion. "You're talkin' about my momma, did yours teach you to keep your hands to yourself?" She mumbled.

You were walking around camp, hearing two people fighting in the Hermes cabin. You snuck in, and spotted.. Athena and Apollo?! And a.. not so happy Telemachus in the middle.

“Well you can’t just do that!”

“I can!”

The prince slammed his fist on the desk. “SHUT UP!”

Telemachus was scary when he was angry, and it wasn’t an exaggeration. The prince was TERRIFYING.

The two gods immediately stopped yelling.

“If you two don’t stop fighting for the love of the gods, I’m going to poke your eyeballs out. And feed it to Scylla herself.”

The music god scoffed, “As if you have the guts-“ he then cut himself off. As Telemachus glared at him. “Yes sir I’m sorry..”

Solana tiredly adjusted her mask, as two gods seeing her face is the last thing she wants, especially not her father of all people, and walked inside, closing the door behind her so no other poor soul would hear her fiancé crashing out.

"So, I'm guessing we're.. not having a good day?" She said, tilting her head as she leaned over him trying to see what he was doing. She completely ignored the two gods in her presence, unsurprisingly. "What's got ya tail in a twist, Wolfy?" She asked, lightly poking his forehead.

"Teleeee–"

Sola grinned and laid her head on his shoulder like he wasn't her captor and just a casual roommate.

"Hii~ So, like, since you love me sooo much and I'm your favorite human in the world—" that's a stretch. "—could you maaybe.. unchain me? For a little bit? A teeny tiny bit? Just for a walk in the garden? I'm begging–"

"And if I loved you-" he scoffed, a humorless breath, "—which I do not—why would I reward begging?"

Solana mimicked his sigh, keeping her head rested on his shoulder like a bird perched on a cage. She wasn’t scared, just annoyed, which was starting to become more common.

"Okay, Shakespeare," she scoffed. "I was gonna let you do the honors of unchaining me because you have suuch a hateboner for me it's ridiculous."

She then nuzzled into his neck more, even if he was cold to the touch. "Buut, I guess I could ask Amphi or Leo for a hand. You're so booring, and I'm here giving you entertainment daily~" By "Entertainment," she meant for her, not for him. But she didn’t find a point in stating the obvious.

He’d heard worse in dead languages, and she there was a way she said their names so easily. Casually. Like they were down the hall and not very far away from becoming a problem.

“Hateboner,” he repeated flatly, like he was tasting a foreign word. “You humans invent the ugliest phrases for intimacy.”

His hand slid up, fingers threading into her hair at the nape of her neck.

“And Amphinomus would feel bad for you,” he said. “Which irritates me. And Leodes would listen to you.”

His grip loosened, thumb brushing idly behind her ear.

“You stay right here. And you stop pretending you are doing me a favor by breathing. You exhaust me."

Solana grinned against his skin, her warm breath puffing gently against him. Others would be hyperventilating in her position, but she didn't care, she's been through worse than dealing with a vampire.

"Mmhm," she hummed. "Well, it's way funnier than saying "Intercourse," or "mating." I say humans are way more creative with our phrasing! 'Sides, how do I describe someone hating me soo much, it's like they wanna fuck me? "Intimacy"?"

Solana let out a small chuckle, though she shivered at his touch. That was always a dumbass response when he touched her, probably because he was so cold and she was a human heater.

Her warmth against his skin was… distracting. Annoyingly so. He shifted, just enough to put a fraction of space between them, though his hand still rested at her wrist, thumb idly brushing the edge of the shackle as if considering it.

“And because empathy,” he went on, eyes flicking back to hers, “is a luxury I gave up centuries ago. Do not mistake possession for cruelty. I did not steal you.”

He smiled.

“I kept you.”

His gaze then shifted somewhere else in the room.

“As for your… phrasing,” he added, “if you insist on describing my temperament with vulgar poetry, at least have the decency to be accurate.”

Solana sighed, placing a hand on her hip while the other laid limp inside her deathly beautiful prison. She was sure she wouldn't remember how to even use her powers by the time she got out... If the man imprisoning her ever let her out, that is.

"Confidence is a mindset," she said simply, her golden eyes staring into his, almost bored. Though they were amber now due to her powers being locked away for so long. But they still had that faint fire in them that she never lost. "Y'gotta be confident and charismatic to get far. Or else you're bitter, lonely, and you don't have anyone who likes you. Ring a bell?"

Solana then gave a childish pout at his smile. "Oh, now you wanna smile at the expense of my suffering? Real classy one, aren't you? At least I'm a precious enough jewel to be kept by the mighty Telemachus! Like a prized Dove, kept trapped in a cage to be admired, but never to fly!" She gave a dramatic pose, just to really sell the Damsel In Distress look.

She then blinked, tilting her head. "How accurate can I get? You quite literally told me to stop breathing and that I exhaust you." That was a reach.

Telemachus laughed.

It slipped out of him before he could stop it—low, brief, almost surprised. The sound of someone who had not laughed often and did not intend to make a habit of it.

“Confidence is not a mindset,” he said, recovering quickly, voice smoothing back into silk. “It is a weapon. And like all weapons, it is only impressive until it is taken away. You forget arrogant. That one is essential.”

The dramatics did not annoy him as much as he pretended. If anything, they distracted him from the gnawing quiet in his skull.

“A dove?” he mused. “Please. Doves are obedient.”

“You are more like a spark,” he said. “Annoying. Inconvenient. Capable of burning down a house if left unattended.”

He shook his head.

“I told you to stop pushing,” he corrected. “There is a difference. Breathing I tolerate. Insolence I endure. What exhausts me is your insistence on narrating your captivity like a play written for an audience that does not exist.”

“And do not flatter yourself,” he added quietly. “I do not smile at your suffering. I smile because you are still trying.. I-It is amusing." He straightened, stepping back.

Solana looked genuinely shocked at him laughing. Sure, it sounded like he'd never laughed at all before then, like being an "amateur laugher" was a thing, but it felt pleasant, hearing her actually entertain him for once.

She grinned and made her way toward him, disregarding the space he put between him in the first place. She just looked right at him with those annoyingly adoring eyes. They had mischief in them, something you couldn't get rid of, but there was also a hint of adoration—as if she'd never seen him in whatever light she currently is before.

"Mhm," she hummed, tilting her head like a puppy. "I'm sure arrogance is just confidence evil cousin. But whatever makes you feel better about yourself."

Solana let out a small laugh. It was the opposite of his—natural and slipped out easily. Even though she rejected her parentage, it sounded bright and sunny, a warm breeze in the summer air. It came easy to her, yet, if she had to pick, she would choose to hear his laughter every time.

At the comparison, she gave him a disappointed pout. "You could've compared me to somethin' prettier.. 'Least I'm pretty like a dove." she mumbled.

Solana noticed his stammer and only grinned wider. Her unshackled hand moved to his chin, turning his head toward her as she continued to stare up at him, but more directly this time.

"My darling, my Telemachus," she said, her voice coming out as a low purr. "Forgive me if I am wrong, but I believe I heard that stammer, from you, no less. Losing your composure? To a lowly human? My, what a scandal!"

Her warmth bled into him where she touched, an unwelcome reminder that he was cold by choice, not necessity. His jaw tightened beneath her hand, and he tried to stay calm.

“A scandal,” he repeated, dry as dust. “Please. I have survived bards, gods, and entire civilizations inventing worse lies about me.”

He then paused, thinking about how to word this. “You humans romanticize every pause,” he murmured. “Every breath you do not understand becomes weakness in your stories.” He seemed to get even more annoyed. (Sola ragebait him to death please.)

“Pretty things are replaceable,” he said. “Doves fly away. Sparks burn. You, unfortunately, do neither.”

Her warmth against his skin was… distracting. Annoyingly so. He shifted, just enough to put a fraction of space between them, though his hand still rested at her wrist, thumb idly brushing the edge of the shackle as if considering it.

“And because empathy,” he went on, eyes flicking back to hers, “is a luxury I gave up centuries ago. Do not mistake possession for cruelty. I did not steal you.”

He smiled.

His gaze then shifted somewhere else in the room.

“As for your… phrasing,” he added, “if you insist on describing my temperament with vulgar poetry, at least have the decency to be accurate.”

Solana sighed, placing a hand on her hip while the other laid limp inside her deathly beautiful prison. She was sure she wouldn't remember how to even use her powers by the time she got out... If the man imprisoning her ever let her out, that is.

"Confidence is a mindset," she said simply, her golden eyes staring into his, almost bored. Though they were amber now due to her powers being locked away for so long. But they still had that faint fire in them that she never lost. "Y'gotta be confident and charismatic to get far. Or else you're bitter, lonely, and you don't have anyone who likes you. Solana then gave a childish pout at his smile. "Oh, now you wanna smile at the expense of my suffering? Real classy one, aren't you? At least I'm a precious enough jewel to be kept by the mighty Telemachus! Like a prized Dove, kept trapped in a cage to be admired, but never to fly!" She gave a dramatic pose, just to really sell the Damsel In Distress look.

She then blinked, tilting her head. "How accurate can I get? You quite literally told me to stop breathing and that I exhaust you." That was a reach.

It slipped out of him before he could stop it—low, brief, almost surprised. The sound of someone who had not laughed often and did not intend to make a habit of it.

“Confidence is not a mindset,” he said, recovering quickly, voice smoothing back into silk. “It is a weapon. And like all weapons, it is only impressive until it is taken away. You forget arrogant. That one is essential.”

The dramatics did not annoy him as much as he pretended. If anything, they distracted him from the gnawing quiet in his skull.

“A dove?” he mused. “Please. Doves are obedient.”

“You are more like a spark,” he said. “Annoying. Inconvenient. Capable of burning down a house if left unattended.”

He shook his head.

“I told you to stop pushing,” he corrected. “There is a difference. Breathing I tolerate. Insolence I endure. What exhausts me is your insistence on narrating your captivity like a play written for an audience that does not exist.”

“And do not flatter yourself,” he added quietly. “I do not smile at your suffering. I smile because you are still trying.. I-It is amusing." He straightened, stepping back.

Solana looked genuinely shocked at him laughing. Sure, it sounded like he'd never laughed at all before then, like being an "amateur laugher" was a thing, but it felt pleasant, hearing her actually entertain him for once.

She grinned and made her way toward him, disregarding the space he put between him in the first place. She just looked right at him with those annoyingly adoring eyes. They had mischief in them, something you couldn't get rid of, but there was also a hint of adoration—as if she'd never seen him in whatever light she currently is before.

"Mhm," she hummed, tilting her head like a puppy. "I'm sure arrogance is just confidence evil cousin. But whatever makes you feel better about yourself."

Solana let out a small laugh. It was the opposite of his—natural and slipped out easily. Even though she rejected her parentage, it sounded bright and sunny, a warm breeze in the summer air. It came easy to her, yet, if she had to pick, she would choose to hear his laughter every time.

She then nuzzled into his neck more, even if he was cold to the touch. "Buut, I guess I could ask Amphi or Leo for a hand. You're so booring, and I'm here giving you entertainment daily~" By "Entertainment," she meant for her, not for him. But she didn’t find a point in stating the obvious.

His grip loosened, thumb brushing idly behind her ear.
