Chapter 1
-break room-
hari: Oh, Saki-san. Look at Kasumi.
saki: What about him?
hari: He said that he won't raise his bangs at Starless, even though he wears his hair up whilst we're at the off-site venue.
zakuro: Everyone has their own personal reasons for doing things, but I would still like to see the guest’s reaction to your face.
hari: You should try putting your hair up whilst wearing your butler outfit. I’m sure it would suit you, Kasumi.
zakuro: I was shocked to hear about the butler service, even more so that it would still continue while we're performing off-site.
kasumi: It's something that only takes place for a month and the guests have been looking forward to it. I’ll be the best nondescript butler you’ve ever seen.
hari: I’ve heard that some of our audience members have misunderstood your part in our off-site performance as being a special guest. If you're going to show your face elsewhere isn't it fine to show it at Starless too?
kasumi: You may think so, Hari but I’ve gotten used to wearing this style here at Starless. Right, Saki-san? You like both versions of me don't you?
zakuro: My my, do you not think that the guests would like to see your face? Look, if I just lift your bangs like this–
-zakuro pushes kasumi’s bangs back-
kasumi: Uwah, w-what did you do that for~?
zakuro: We wouldn't be able to call you a background character anymore, but don't you think this look suits Starless’ service?
hari: What do you mean by that?
kasumi: No, if the world gets too bright then background characters like me will go extinct.
hari: I see, so having your bangs up or down is like flipping a switch on your different modes?
zakuro: Right now his background character switch is off. Does this face of his make your heart flutter?
saki: Whether his hair is up or down he's still the same Kasumi-san.
zakuro: Hm hm hm, stand close to the wall here for me then.
saki: Ok?
zakuro: Now I’ll have Kasumi stand face to face with you and then when I give him a little push, bam.
-zakuro makes kasumi kabedon saki-
kasumi: Uwah!
saki: Uwah!
zakuro: What do you think? Is your heart racing now?
saki: Yes but that's got nothing to do with his hair! It's cause of the proximity!
-kasumi quickly pulls away and pushes his bangs down-
kasumi: Zakuro~ You shouldn't do that. Cornering someone against the wall like that can be considered as sexual harassment! I could even be charged for assault or criminal intimidation!
hari: Correct, penal code article 208 or article 222(1). You know your stuff, Kasumi.
kasumi: It's just common sense. Zakuro should consider brushing up on the basics of it. Sorry about that, Saki-san. I shouldn't be doing stuff like that to you.
saki: It wasn't your fault, Kasumi-san.
zakuro: My apologies, Saki-sama. I will brush up on my common sense if the opportunity arises.

Chapter 2
-green room-
saki: You wear your hair up when you come to this venue, huh?
kasumi: Yep, that's the rule I’m sticking to.
aogiri: Rule? What do you mean by that?
kasumi: I’ll give you a hint. The God of Revenge.
saki: What? That sounds dangerous.
qu: That's your role in ‘MAD LOVE’ isn't it?
kasumi: Yes, it's a role that doesn't exist in the original source. I had Kei add it for me. “Revenge is a grotesque venture that reveals all”.
aogiri: Why did you ask him to add the ‘God of Revenge’ to the story? Jean Racine’s ‘Andromaque’ takes place after the Trojan War. The way the Greek mythology of the original has been adapted to take place in the Japanese Sengoku period instead is quite complicated as well. In Greek mythology the God of Revenge is a Goddess and there isn't any fitting equivalent in Japanese folklore either.
qu: It was probably rearranged to be Japanese themed because we're performing it alongside ‘Akatsuki no Negai’. That show is also a Japanese style fantasy story, so they match.
kasumi: I don't know the reason that ‘Andromaque’ was adapted into a Japanese setting, but… I thought it would be more interesting if it were easily understood as being a revenge story.
qu: You say that, but the only reason it becomes a revenge story is because your character instigates it.
aogiri: And because of that, the Shogun that Qu plays loses his mind and dies.
saki: It sounds like a complex story…
kasumi: Just think of the God of Revenge as that extra bit of spice added to ‘MAD LOVE’.
qu: That's one strong spice. Come to think of it, the order of the shows was originally planned to be ‘Akatsuki no Negai’ first and then ‘MAD LOVE’ second.
aogiri: True, but both shows have been adapted so much that it shouldn't matter which is viewed first.
-kongou appears-
kongou: Aogiri, could you help me for a moment? Some water bottles were delivered and they need to be brought in.
aogiri: Got it.
-kongou and aogiri leave-
qu: I’ll be going too, I need to confirm some things with Mokuren before the show.
-qu leaves-
kasumi: I’m falling behind as a background character. Maybe I should leave my bangs down after all?
saki: Does it matter if they're up or down?
kasumi: I can't even keep my way of speaking consistent, it's unsettling right? Actually speaking of what we were discussing before, it's true that it was originally set up to be ‘Akatsuki no Negai’ and then ‘MAD LOVE’. But then Kei decided to swap the order.
saki: Is that so? I wonder what his reasoning was.
kasumi: ‘MAD LOVE’ is a story where everyone dies due to one person's one sided wish. “If your hopes are futile, then kill them”, they're all strung along by those words from the God of Revenge.
saki: Once they realise what they've done they can't take it back anymore… It's a tragic story.
kasumi: But on the other hand, ‘Akatsuki no Negai’ is filled with struggles and the protagonist gives up hope at one point. But he still manages to get it back in the end. I feel like there is a reason for putting these two shows in this order…
Ahaha, sorry I started rambling about nonsense. I should talk about something more uplifting. I’d like for the audience to be glad that we put the shows in this order.

Chapter 3
-theatre hall stage-
kasumi: “No matter how much you pride yourself on your loyalty, you'll never get through to your lord. Just look at how easily that man destroyed a country for the sake of a woman who isn't even interested in him.”
“The man that you once served is long gone, wouldn't you consider that a betrayal of your trust? You should do what you can before you get destroyed yourself. If your hopes are futile, then kill them.”
-stage wings-
saki: (The God of Revenge says the same words to everyone and they all decide to ‘kill their enemy’... Ah, he's coming off the stage!)
kasumi: (shocked) …….
saki: Kasumi-san, here's a water bottle. And a towel.
kasumi: T-thanks, I wasn't expecting you to be in the stage wings today.
saki: I’m handing out towels and water to help you guys out.
kasumi: Being looked after by you puts me in a strange mood.
saki: Let me know if you need anything else, I have different drinks too.
kasumi: No, I'm good. I’d just like to hear your thoughts on the show.
saki: (I wasn't expecting that.)
saki: The scene you performed just now is quiet but impactful. Especially when you say “If your hopes are futile, then kill them”.
kasumi: It's my role to incite the desire for 'revenge’ in the others. I tell them to get revenge on those who have betrayed them.
saki: If they really could kill off the very concept of that hope they can't attain then maybe this tragedy wouldn't have occurred at all.
kasumi: ……..
saki: Ah, sorry I’m chatting so much while you're in the middle of your show.
kasumi: It's fine, thanks for your thoughts. I’m gonna be on again soon, so I’ll be going.
saki: I’ll take your water and towel back.
kasumi: Saki-san, what you said just now is correct.
saki: Huh?
kasumi: What my God of Revenge told me to kill is the hope that's futile to believe in.

Chapter 4
-theater hall stage-
kasumi: “You should do what you can before you get destroyed yourself. If your hopes are futile, then kill them.”
-stage wings-
kasumi: You're staffed in the stage wings again today, huh?
saki: Yes! Do you want some water?
kasumi: Yes please.
saki: Here you go. I’ll check if your costume looks right.
kasumi: ‘Akatsuki no Negai’ has a lot of solo parts, so if I don't perform mine properly I’ll stick out like a sore thumb. Last time we met in the wings like this we talked about the God of Revenge, remember?
saki: Ah, yes. I said something strange even though you were still in the middle of your show…
kasumi: No, you were correct. If the very concept of that hope that can't be attained could be destroyed, then this tragedy wouldn't have happened…
However, humans can't help but cling to hope, no matter how unattainable it is. For example, my wish is so strong that even if it ended up hurting the world, I still wouldn't be able to give up on it.
saki: A strong desire… Love, loyalty and faith can all fall under that description.
kasumi: ‘Akatsuki no Negai’ is the same way, I think. Even though you think that it can't be attained, the fact that you don't give up could be seen as hope in itself. My wish was never able to get through…
saki: But, you said this before, Kasumi-san. That ‘Akatsuki no Negai’ is a story where the protagonist loses hope at one point, but still manages to seize it in the end.
kasumi: A wish to be able to seize that hope that you couldn't let go of, huh… If only it were that simple.
saki: ‘Akatsuki no Negai’ is a hopeful story. I’m sure your wish will come true.
kasumi: Hearing you say so makes me believe it will. The second act is starting, I’ll be going. Watch me from here, ok?
-time pass, theatre hall-
saki: (A lot happened, but all of the shows ended up being performed without disruption. …Huh? Someone’s still on the stage. I thought everyone had gone and gotten changed already.)
-stage wings-
saki: Um, is someone still here…?
kasumi: You surprised me. I was just thinking about you. Ah, not in a bad way, I meant that in a good way. I think that performing the shows in this order was the correct choice after all.
saki: ‘MAD LOVE’ and then ‘Akatsuki no Negai’. The show ends on a hopeful note this way
kasumi: I had thought that the order didn't matter either way, but… Hearing you say that you believe my wish will come true made me start to believe the same thing. Some people pray in order for their wishes to come true…
saki: I’m sure it will.
kasumi: Could you say that one more time?
saki: I’m sure your wish will come true, Kasumi-san.
-bloomed cg, kasumi with tears in his eyes
kasumi: This is the first time I’ve wanted someone to say that to me. All this time, that's all that I’ve wanted to hear. Thank you, your words have saved me.
[BSTS] Main Story S6Ch5.5 Medley: 'Merely Praying for a Dawn That Can't be Reached’ - Final
Part 1
Chapter 4-1
-starless rehearsal room-
-beeping noise-
saki: (Ah, it's the alarm I set… It's time.)
saki: Everyone~ It's time to head over to the theatre hall.
qu: Oh, thanks for letting us know, Saki. Let's stop practice here, Mokuren.
(note: there is a choice here to have the convo occur on kasumi’s birthday or not)
>kasumi’s birthday
mokuren: Yeah, it's a good place to leave it. Let's get going. Are you done with your floor shift, Kasumi? You have your butler service now, don't you?
kasumi: Of course, I was quietly going about my work right behind you, Mokuren~
hari: You were called to more tables than usual today.
saki: Well it is his birthday after all. Happy birthday, Kasumi-san.
kasumi: Ahaha, thanks so much. Once I got the hang of it the butler service was pretty fun.
qu: I’m sure the guests appreciated the enthusiasm.
zakuro: Now then, I shall go and warm up my vocals at the theatre. I presume Sotetsu and Ran have already gone there ahead of us?
aogiri: They should have already left with our costumes. They’d like for us to bring them their stuff from the locker room.
hari: I’ll go pick up their things then. Will someone help me?
saki: I’ll come with you.
aogiri: You don't have to do that, I’ll go.
qu: Let's get going then, Zakuro.
-hari, aogiri, qu and zakuro leave-
kasumi: I’ll head over too.
mokuren: Not yet you won't, I need to talk to you. Stay here. You too, Saki, could you stay behind for a moment?
saki: Huh? Sure.
mokuren: With you watching I know that I won't make a mistake.
saki: (Mokuren-san…?)
mokuren: Kasumi. You're planning to do something today, aren't you?
kasumi: …What do you mean?
mokuren: Your dancing is different from usual today, I can tell your mind is elsewhere.
kasumi: ……..
mokuren: Kasumi, you don't have to perform today.
kasumi: Mokuren, that's–
mokuren: There's something you're worried about isn't there? You should focus on sorting that out and do what you must.
I don't know what your circumstances are. It's your own problem to deal with, I don't need to know the details. But if that's what you must prioritise, then go ahead and settle it. Just as I always prioritise my dancing above all else.
I think I understand why you were so concerned over Team C’s rehearsals for this show now. Well, actually I’m not really sure if I fully understand your reasoning. But still, the rehearsals that you led weren't half bad, I had fun.
kasumi: Mokuren… Was I able to protect Team C’s stage then? I promised you that once, remember?
mokuren: Did you?
-flashback, starless kitchen-
mokuren: No matter what happens, protect Team C’s stage for me. I don't care what kind of things you negotiate with Kei or the owner to make it happen. I don't even care if you use me as a bargaining chip.
kasumi: Roger that~
-present, rehearsal room-
mokuren: It's true that it sounds like something I’d say, but how long ago was this?
kasumi: It was around five years ago now. When we first officially stood together as a team.
mokuren: When we performed ‘To be, or not to be’ then, huh? I knew it must've been a while ago.
kasumi: Even so, it doesn't change the fact I made that promise to you. The one who decided to form Team C, and the one who believed in Qu and I was you, Mokuren.
mokuren: That really was such a long time ago now. Well, whatever. Thanks to that we're able to perform as C today.
-hari and aogiri return-
aogiri: We picked up the bags, Qu and Zakuro have already headed over to the theatre.
hari: We should head over there too.
mokuren: Oi, Hari. You're able to perform Kasumi’s part aren't you?
hari: Yes, um, yeah I am. I can't perform it as well as Kasumi though.
mokuren: Well you better perform it as well as him, cause it's going to be your role today. Aogiri, you’ll sub in for Hari. You're standing on the stage.
aogiri: I am? This sure is sudden.
mokuren: Once Hari quits Starless, you'll be inheriting his roles, Aogiri. So you mays well start getting the hang of them now. Is that good with you two?
hari: Understood. In that case I must revise some things before the show. Let's hurry over to the theater, Aogiri.
aogiri: Huh? Oh, yes, understood.
-hari and aogiri leave-
mokuren: Kasumi, Team C’s show will be fine without you for today. We won't be disappearing any time soon, so you can do what you want. Give it your all.
kasumi: Got it. Thank you, Mokuren.
mokuren: Thank Saki, not me. It's thanks to her that I was able to make this verdict.
saki: You made this decision yourself though, Mokuren-san.
mokuren: Then think of it as thanks for watching over us. I’ll be heading over now. Do as you wish, Kasumi.
-mokuren leaves-
kasumi: Thank you, Saki-san. I have to do something that can only be done today.
saki: I see, good luck. But don't push yourself too hard, ok?
kasumi: (shocked) ……
kasumi: There aren't many people who would honestly look out for me like that. Only those I’m close to would say it, my little sister especially used to say that to me all the time.
saki: I’m sure your sister says that because she's worried about you.
kasumi: Yeah, she probably is. That's why I must do everything that I can. I don't want to have any more regrets. I don't want to lose anyone else important to me. I don't want to think that my hand won't reach her.

Chapter 4-2
-green room-
qu: Hari and the others should be back soon. They said they'd get here right before the show starts.
mokuren: Kongou has things under control. It should be fine.
qu: Are you sure about leaving Kasumi out?
mokuren: Even if we have to shuffle the cast around a bit, all we need to do is perform C’s show. Once things settle down for him we’ll perform again– If this is his choice, so be it. Just as I have my dance he has something that's just as important. You probably have something like that as well, don't you?
qu: Mokuren… You have a vision for us, right? Something that you've seen ever since you stood on the stage alone during ‘silly and absurd’. Something that you found within the ‘MAD LOVE’ and ‘Akatsuki no Negai’ that Kasumi brought together.
mokuren: It's nothing that groundbreaking. I just want to dance, that's all. And getting to share the same stage together is what makes us Team C. And as long as Aogiri can play his role properly then today's show will go well.
qu: Does Aogiri concern you?
mokuren: I don't know, it's just… No, it's nothing. However it is true that I forcibly added a new person to C. So I’m responsible for him now that he's joined.
qu: We’ll all bear that responsibility together. Say, Mokuren. You really have changed. Before you were just a dancer, but now–
mokuren: It's not like I was trying to change.
qu: That response is exactly why I think you’ve changed. Before you wouldn't even bother holding a conversation. But for as much as you've changed you also haven't changed at all. Back then and now, you're still a dancer.
–end
Chapter 5-1
-green room-
kongou: Oh, Kasumi isn't here. Did you change the cast members for today?
saki: Hari-san is substituting for Kasumi-san and Aogiri-san is substituting for Hari-san.
kongou: The cast changing won't affect the show itself much, but I’ll have to inform the production team of the changes.
saki: I’ll go and look for someone on the production team then.
kongou: Hmm, Kei told me not to leave you on your own.
sotetsu: I’ll go with her then. That should be fine, right?
saki: Sotetsu-san.
kongou: Yeah, that’ll be fine. Thanks, Sotetsu.
-kongou leaves-
sotetsu: With that outta the way, let's go and look for Kasumi, Saki.
-hallway-
saki: (Ah, Kasumi-san is over there.)
sotetsu: There he is. Wanna call out to him?
saki: Hm? Oh, sure.
-they walk over-
saki: Huh? I thought he was over here?
??? (kasumi): I didn't think you'd be joining me.
-kasumi appears-
sotetsu: I figured you'd need more hands. But I couldn't just leave Saki on her own either.
kasumi: Sigh, I see. You can't do both at once though. Saki-san, head to your seat with Sotetsu– Shh, someone's coming. Hide in this room.
-kasumi, sotetsu and saki hide-
middle aged man: Oi, you're sure no one's coming after us right? You made sure to keep watch, didn't you?
thug: Shut it, old man. What do you think l’m standing here for? I’ll lay low until the higher ups contact me.
middle aged man: Tch, I need to dispose of the documents quickly. Though I’m not happy about it…
thug: You sure are annoying. You're better off getting rid of documents that’re over ten years old anyways.
-thugs and man leave-
saki: What was that about…
sotetsu: I see… I’ll go after that thug that's standing guard then. I’ll leave Saki to you, Kasumi. Good luck with the rest.
-sotetsu attacks the guy-
thug: Guh…!
kasumi: Sorry, I need to go. I won't let this chance slip by.
saki: I-I’ll go with you…!
-fancy office-
kasumi: Wait beside the door. I need to find a safe.
saki: (A safe…!? So he came here to open a safe that was in another building?)
kasumi: …You haven't done anything wrong, Saki-san. You just got swept up into all of this. So could you overlook this for now? I came here to search for some documents that should be in this building. If they get disposed of I’ll never be able to find where my sister is. I won't ever get a chance like this again.
saki: Kasumi-san…
kasumi: Here it is… They must be in here. Shit, it really does require a key card. In that case–
-takami appears-
takami: Try using this card.
saki: Takami-san! Why are you here?
-takami gives kasumi rindou’s black card-
kasumi: This is–
takami: It's a black card, I don't know if it will work. But if it does, you'll be able to find where your missing sister is, right?
kasumi: I’ll give it a shot.
-safe rejects card-
kasumi: ……..
takami: No good, huh? I thought one of these would work…
-flashback to just before-
takami: It's a black card, I don't know if it will work.
-flashback, starless office-
kei: Do you have your card with you?
-present, fancy office-
saki: (No way… what if…)
-saki pulls out her black card-
kasumi: (gasps) That card…
saki: I don't think it will open, but… Even if there's a small chance, I want to try it.
-safe unlocks-
takami: It opened…
saki: But why…
kasumi: (in disbelief) …The documents are here. Let's go.
-thug runs in-
thug: Ah! The fuck are you guys doing? Give those documents back!
sotetsu: Sorry, I had my hands full. Their reinforcements showed up a lot quicker than I was expecting.
takami: I guess I have no choice but to lend you a hand. Run, you two.
kasumi: Let's get out of here, Saki-san. Run!
saki: O-ok!
-kasumi and saki run away-
-stage wings-
mokuren: Doesn't it sound like something is going on behind the scenes?
qu: Seems like it. I wonder if the show will be able to continue.
aogiri: It's most likely Kasumi. I haven't seen him since ‘MAD LOVE’ started.
hari: Kasumi? What on earth would he be doing?
aogiri: Nothing, it's just a hunch.
mokuren: Either way, ‘Akatsuki no Negai’ is starting now. No matter what's going on, the stage will continue. This is a show that contains a lot of solo parts, so make sure you all dance yours flawlessly. Got it?
-show buzzer sounds-
zakuro: Now then, shall this show fall into a commotion or not? First I shall sing, as the curtain is rising on Mokuren’s solo
–end
Chapter 5-2
-hallway-
man 1: Oi, they're over there!
kasumi: Run, Saki-san!
saki: O-ok!
-ran appears-
ran: Yay, Ran-chan makes his stunnin’ appearance~!
-ran takes out the thug-
man 1: Gwah!
kongou: What are you doing, Ran? What’s going on out here!?
ran: Ya gotta do what ya can to defend yourself, come on Kongou, you should help protect Nee-chan too.
man 2: We won't let you get away with this! Take this!
-thug tries to punch kongou-
kongou: Argh, seriously!?
-kongou takes the thug out-
kongou: Are you ok, Saki-chan? Can you keep running?
saki: I-I’ll try my best!
sotetsu: You should get moving, I’ll be counting on you guys.
takami: I was quite troubled to receive that message from you. I have my own circumstances too, you know?
sotetsu: My bad my bad, but this goes hand in hand with your circumstances doesn't it?
-thug tries to attack them-
sotetsu: Hey now.
-sotetsu punches thug-
sotetsu: Compared to before I think I’m at a disadvantage now.
saki: What are they talking about…
kasumi: Get back, Saki-san!
-thug makes kasumi drop the documents-
kasumi: Crap…!
saki: (I need to pick up the documents!)
-saki gathers the scattered papers-
man 2: Give them back bitch!
saki: (He's mad…!)
-kasumi jumps in front and takes a hit for saki-
kasumi: Guh…!
saki: Kasumi-san!
kasumi: I’m fine, just close your eyes.
man 2: Hand over the documents and that woman!
-kasumi gets hit again-
kasumi: Nn!
saki: Kasumi-san, stop, please stop, you don't have to do this for me!
??? (mokuren): Quit it, you thugs.
-mokuren takes the thug out-
man 2: Guh!
kasumi: Mokuren…! But what about the show!?
mokuren: Qu and Zakuro are performing their solos right now, I’ll return to the stage in five minutes. I told you to give it your all didn't I? And you're the one who said you’d utilise me.
man 1: Piss off! Do you not care what happens to this woman!?
aogiri: Of course we care.
-aogiri takes out the thug-
kasumi: Aogiri…
aogiri: Whatever the case, it appears I well and truly look like a member of Starless to them now.
kasumi: Well, which side are you on right now?
aogiri: I’m a Starless cast member. That’s what I perceive is the correct route to take, for now at least. Not to mention, I do not wish to see Saki-san get treated roughly by these people.
mokuren: Are you ok, Saki?
saki: I’m… but Kasumi-san is…
mokuren: Kasumi is perfectly fine. Right, Kasumi?
kasumi: Yeah, I’m good. Don't worry about me…
mokuren: You did well protecting Saki. Now you can go all out and finish this properly. Kongou, we’ll be returning to the stage now, I’ll leave this to you. Make sure the show isn't disrupted. Let's go, Aogiri, hurry.
ran: What's this what's this? The cops are here!
kongou: Jeez, looks like we're saved. Someone must've contacted them for us.
takami: Yeah, I guess so. We should still be vigilant of the neighboring buildings.
sotetsu: This all counts as self defence right? I’ll leave the complicated stuff to you.
takami: You should head back to the theatre, Saki, Kasumi. We’ll deal with the rest here.
kasumi: Yeah, thanks… Let's go, Saki-san.
-kasumi and saki leave-
saki: (The documents are safe. I’ve been carrying them carefully.)
saki: Kasumi-san, these documents…
-saki gives kasumi the documents-
kasumi: (shocked) ……..
kasumi: I’m seriously so sorry for getting you involved in all this…
saki: I’m ok, it's fine. You protected me…
kasumi: I’m so glad you weren't injured… I’m sorry for making you experience something so scary. Thank you for staying safe.
-theatre hall-
narration: Mokuren-san and Aogiri-san made it back to the stage just in time. Takami-san and the others spoke with the police and the show was able to finish without disruption.

Chapter 6
-theatre hall-
saki: The closing show has come to an end. Good job everyone.
qu: I couldn't believe my ears when I found out afterwards that you’d gotten caught up in a brawl.
zakuro: All that matters is that you're safe. You seem to always end up getting involved in such situations.
saki: It's not like I try to…
hari: So what ended up happening? Some of the staff members got arrested, yes?
kongou: It appears that some of the veteran staff members of this production company were involved in an incident that occurred ten years ago.
qu: What? Was this company really that dangerous?
kongou: It's not the whole company that was involved but just some bad eggs. The majority of the staff members had nothing to do with it.
hari: So you're saying that the thugs who fought you and Kasumi were the ones involved in that incident?
kongou: Probably, I don't really understand what's going on either.
hari: The police likely already had them marked as suspicious, that's why they showed up so quickly.
zakuro: Thanks to them everything has been resolved swiftly. I suppose we’ll also be questioned by them at the very least.
qu: We should take a break and focus on our next show at Starless now.
-saki, qu, zakuro and kongou leave-
mokuren: Oi, what are you doing? Are you not heading back? Can you afford that, Hari?
hari: What do you mean?
mokuren: The next show will also be Team C. It’ll be your graduation performance. So give it all you’ve got, ok?
hari: Yes, of course.
-backstage rooms-
kasumi: (sighs sadly) …….
saki: Kasumi-san, everyone else has already headed back to Starless.
kasumi: Ah, yeah.
saki: Are you ok? You look pale.
kasumi: No, it's just… I handed the documents over to the police.
saki: And then what happened?
kasumi: There was definitive proof regarding the incident that happened at my home but… There’s still no indication of where my sister is. Those documents definitely should have contained her whereabouts. All I know is that she was brought to Tokyo, but I need more information than that.
saki: No way…
kasumi: ……. (sad)
-aogiri appears-
aogiri: That's because she signed a certain contract in order to escape.
saki: Aogiri-san…
aogiri: I’m sorry for interrupting your conversation, however I thought it would be best to inform you of this. I prepared a copy of her contract for you, here.
kasumi: The contract holder's name… This date… Why on earth do you have access to my sister’s contract? This is dated the day after she went missing.
saki: What!? What does that mean?
aogiri: That is a basic contract for a certain clinical trial. Your sister signed it and participated in the trial. It doesn't contain all of the details, but that clinical trial also involves plastic surgery. I don't know what happened after she signed it, but once the trial was completed, she likely started going by a different name.
kasumi: But why would she… No, it was in order to escape, right? It's like how I’ve been living without drawing any attention to myself.
aogiri: That is all the information that I can give you.
kasumi: Why? Why would you…
aogiri: I figured I should repay my debt as soon as possible. Since you were kind enough to overlook my blunder. And… No, nevermind, that's all I wanted to say. It’s just that this incident might have made me realise just how much the situation has changed.
kasumi: Hm…
-qu appears-
qu: We’ll be returning to Starless soon, did you guys forget something in here?
aogiri: No, I’m done here now. I’ll head back.
saki: What about you, Kasumi-san..?
kasumi: Just give me a moment… (he ruffles his hair to cover his face) There we go. Let's head on back to Starless~

Prequel Chapter 1
-behind starless, night-
ran: Hey, did ya switch information brokers smoothly?
sotetsu: I don't wanna be stealing one of your few sources. So I looked into this using my own sources. Want to compare our info?
-kasumi appears-
kasumi: Sounds like a plan, I’ll join you.
sotetsu: Woah, don't sneak up on me like that, at least announce you’re here first.
ran: I seriously didn't notice ya presence at all, you’re talented. Well, it's fine though, it's just Kasumi.
In that case, here's the latest info I have on the group involved with Kasumi’s sis’ disappearance. The group’s parent company was going bankrupt so it was taken over by Haseyama’s parent company along with all its subsidiaries.
And so, that's how they became part of the same group of companies. It's not uncommon for businesses in the same field to merge.
sotetsu: For the most part they're both companies involved in the entertainment production industry. The company itself does still exist. However they seem to be a bit all over the place due to the sudden merge. They’ve got a lot of documents to file. I’ll send you the current employee register.
kasumi: I see…
ran: What's this, what's this? Wanna make a move? I can call em up if ya want.
kasumi: No, there's an easier way to do this. Besides, it's almost time for our shifts. Let's work hard.
sotetsu: Changing the subject as always. Jeez, guess I’ll get ready for work.

Prequel Chapter 2
-starless hallway-
saki: (Ah, it's Kei-san and Kasumi-san… They look like they're discussing something serious.)
kasumi: I will handle it all myself. Don't you think that's the optimal solution?
kei: Yes, I do have to agree…
kasumi: I understand why you're apprehensive.
-saki walks over-
saki: Is something the matter, you two?
kei: Oh, no, it's nothing serious. It's just–
kasumi: I was asking Kei if it would be possible for you to help Team C. Kei has a big clean out planned, so everything behind the scenes here will be a mess for a bit.
saki: You want me to help with Team C’s cleaning? Sure thing.
kasumi: Oh, no. That's not what I meant. Team C has something else planned and that's what I’d like you to help with. This is the best solution, Kei. It's like when you asked Kokuyou to assist you. You can't do anything and everything all by yourself.
saki: That's true. It's ok to leave things to others.
kasumi: In my case I’ll only be dealing with a single location, it's the wider scope that's more difficult to deal with.
kei: There is only so much that I can handle on my own, huh? Fine. If you're going to make use of me, Kasumi, then you better prepare yourself as well.
kasumi: Of course, I’m already well prepared. Though I don't think it's in the same way that you are.
kei: Indeed. I already resolved myself to take this path long ago.
saki: Huh? Has something happened? Sorry for interrupting, but…
kei: No, it is nothing that you need to worry yourself over. We all have our own goals to devote ourselves to.
kasumi: Exactly, if you want something then you have to take it with your own hands. Even if it's a bit of a reckless move.
saki: Don’t push yourselves too hard you two. I forbid it.
kei: I am grateful for your concern. I will not allow myself to look exhausted in front of you.
kasumi: Just leave everything to us.

Prequel Chapter 3
-starless back rooms-
-taiga and takami bump into eachother-
taiga: Uwah!
takami: Sorry, are you ok? I couldn’t see where I was going because of all the stuff I was carrying.
taiga: I’m fine, sorry about that. Let's pick everything up.
takami: Your things went flying everywhere as well. Let's be careful not to mix anything up.
taiga: These are costumes, right?
takami: Yes. Kei asked me to check C’s outfits.
taiga: That so? Guess you're being overworked too.
takami: Well I did decide to be the Owner’s subordinate after all. Ah, my bad. This is your wallet isn't it? I picked it up by accident.
taiga: Oh crap! I didn't even notice I dropped it. Thx thx. Alright that should be all of the costumes, we're all good.
takami: Thank you for your assistance.

Chapter 1-1
-alleyway, day-
-cuts to starless entrance, day-
saki: (Huh? Was that Kasumi-san in that alleyway…? Maybe I’m imagining things.)
mokuren: What's wrong, Saki? Did something happen?
saki: Oh, no, it's nothing. Are you headed to Starless, Mokuren-san?
mokuren: Yeah, there's a leader meeting. You should come along too.
-starless office-
kokuyou: We're all here so let's begin. You should hear this too, Saki.
rindou: This was a sudden meeting, has something happened?
kei: We have a performance booked. Two teams will be performing shows at an off-site location.
mizuki: Off-site? Two teams?
kei: One team will be Team C. And the other will be a mixed team.
Team C will be performing ‘Akatsuki no Negai’ as well as debuting their new show ‘MAD LOVE’. The mixed team will perform two shows as well. ‘Saika no Shukusei’ and ‘MASTERMIND’.
rindou: The 2022 Christmas show? If you're going to perform ‘MASTERMIND’ shouldn't you pair it with ‘You are mine’?
kei: We can't since Mokuren has C’s show to concentrate on. Plus I will be busy with work here at Starless.
rindou: I see, ‘Saika no Shukusei’ then. Apart from me the team includes Ginsei, Akira, Sin and Gui.
mizuki: ‘MASTERMIND’ is Akira, Yakou, me, Lico and Nekome, right?
kokuyou: You up for it, Mizuki?
mizuki: Of course I am, shut up.
kokuyou: The team that isn't performing on the day should help support the other. Team C too, who will be their support?
-flashback, hallway-
kasumi: I was asking Kei if it would be possible for you to help Team C. Kei has a big clean out planned, so everything behind the scenes here will be a mess for a bit.
-present-
saki: Oh, that would be me. I’ll do my best to help you out.
kei: Yes, I have already made arrangements for Saki to go along with Team C. Sotetsu, Ran and Kongou will also be joining you. Please use them as you see fit.
saki: We’ll do our best to assist Team C together.
mokuren: Just having you there to cheer us on is enough to help us out.
kei: The performance venue is not far from here. You will travel there before the opening show. Starless will be open for business as usual, so don't neglect your shifts before the off-site shows begin.
mokuren: Yes, I have my special birthday service so I’ll be staffed on the floor shift.
mizuki: Wait, you're gonna wear that butler outfit until the shows start? You seriously wanna do that?
mokuren: Of course. I plan to carry out my duty thoroughly.
kei: That is all I have to say. Make preparations as you see fit. Rindou, Mizuki, Unei will inform you of the full details.
rindou: Understood.
mizuki: I wonder if I can still remember the choreo… I’ll have to go over it again.
kokuyou: Kei, we can talk about the big clean out later. I’ll have Sotetsu and the others join us.
kei: Yes, that is fine.
mokuren: In that case we’ll get ourselves ready too. See you later, Saki.
-mokuren leaves-
kei: Saki, I told you this earlier but I would like for you to go with Team C. If you stay near Kasumi, Mokuren, Sotetsu or Ran you should be fine. Other than that… Do you have your black card with you?
saki: Huh? Oh, yes I do. Are you going to tell me something about this card?
kei: Most likely soon, yes. Since time is always moving forwards, unable to be stopped.
-time skip, off-site theatre-
saki: (It's cool seeing everyone’s show in a venue other than Starless.)
kongou: Saki-chan do you want to check on everyone backstage before the show starts?
ran: I’ll go too! What about you, Kongou?
kongou: I’m going to talk to some of the production staff while I look for Sotetsu.
ran: Ahh, is that why ya got that fancy black suit on? Good luck with that~
-backstage rooms-
qu: Hey, Saki. Thanks for coming along with us to the venue.
zakuro: Apologies for the trouble but I am most glad we get to be together.
aogiri: How are your costumes, everybody? They appear to be fine but…
hari: No problems here. It's been a while since we've worn these costumes. Your newly prepared outfit looks great too, Aogiri. It's looking like the show will be a success.
mokuren: It's almost time to go on. Where's Kasumi?
qu: I think he headed to the stage wings ahead of us.
ran: Ya should head over there too~
saki: Let’s go and see if he's there!
-stage wings-
saki: Kasumi-san– Are you there?
kasumi: Did you come here to check on me?
saki: Ah… wait… HUH!? Kasumi-san!? Is that you…?
kasumi: Please look forward to a show that will be different from the norm, Saki-san.
-MAD LOVE plays-

Chapter 1-2
-starless office-
kei: Today was C’s first performance at the off-site venue. How did it go?
kongou: It was seriously shocking! I couldn’t believe it, Kasumi actually–
kei: I am aware of how Kasumi has decided to present himself. Be careful not to bring it up here at Starless.
kongou: Huh? Oh, uh, sure. The show itself was great though, I think it will go well. However the production company seems to be in shambles.
kei: In shambles?
kongou: One of the veteran staff members collapsed immediately after the show, so the rest of the program might not be as organised.
kei: I see, sending you was a good idea then. Make sure you stay in close contact with the production team to ensure the performances don't end up being delayed.
kongou: Wait, me? Not Sotetsu or Ran? I think those two are better at negotiating than I am.
kei: You are suitable. The others have their own duties that they must focus on.
kongou: Well, ok. I guess I’ll try my best. I’ll stay here at Starless until it's time for rehearsals. I’ll call them and confirm tomorrow’s expected attendance.
-starless hallway-
kei: Appears that his plan worked out well… I shall leave the rest to Kasumi.
-kokuyou appears-
kokuyou: So this is where you were. Let's talk about how this big clean out is gonna work.
kei: Indeed. My preparations are complete. What about yours?
kokuyou: I don't know. I’m just supposed to take out any thugs that look like they’re targeting Saki, right? Is it really ok to let her wander around at a different location while she's being targeted though?
kei: I was unwilling to allow it, but I wanted to respect her desire to help. I will have you deal with the rest. The police will also start to make their own move soon, it's about time they did so.
kokuyou: Sin and Akira are appearing in a mixed team too, yeah?
kei: I’ll spread false information about Saki’s whereabouts and then the thugs shall follow. Half will believe she's at Starless whilst the other half will believe she’s with the mixed team at the off-site theatre.
kokuyou: So you're using those guys as a decoy? I doubt you told them that part.
kei: Them not knowing that they're a decoy is exactly what makes this plan effective.
kokuyou: Jeez, you truly couldn't care less about anything other than that woman, huh? Well, it's true some people wouldn't be able to keep the secret. We should probably tell at least a couple of them though. The mixed team consists of Akira, Sin, Nekome, Yakou. And then there's Taiga… How about we tell Takami?
kei: Do as you wish. He has probably already sensed that something is afoot. Not to mention, that would make things easier. However it is best not to go there yourself, I will tell Gui to drop in more often.
kokuyou: Gui? What are you talking about now?
kei: There is a high possibility that the thugs have picked up on Gui being Saki’s bodyguard. So they think he will always be present beside Saki.
kokuyou: And then on the flip side they think that Gui being present must mean Saki is there too. Is that what you’re getting at?
kei: Due to an agreement I have assigned Sotetsu and Ran to her. And because of the owner’s orders Kongou has been positioned there too. Meaning all that's left for you and I to do is to eliminate the thugs around here. So let’s finish this up promptly.
kokuyou: Got it. Let's give 'em hell.

Chapter 2-1
-starless hallway-
saki: (I was told we'd be heading to the event venue after rehearsals but…)
-rehearsal room-
kasumi: Ah, Saki-san. Welcome. We're in the middle of practice so could you wait a moment? If that's ok.
saki: Of course, that's fine.
kasumi: Mokuren, concerning that scene just now, it seemed like you were trying to do something different?
mokuren: We don't need to remain in sync, just go with whatever your instincts tell you. You were holding back in order to match our pace, weren't you?
kasumi: I see, roger that. So it's ok if I dance it a little faster then? Oh Hari, if you’d like, do you want to try practicing my part together? We learnt the choreography together the other day, let's give it another go.
hari: Sure, let's do it. You don't mind, do you, Mokuren?
mokuren: Do as you wish. I don't intend to get upstaged by you two either way.
zakuro: I shall sing then. I am looking forward to seeing the fruits of our labour.
hari: Aogiri could you cover for my part? You already know most of the choreography, correct?
aogiri: Understood. I’ll give it a go.
-they all dance-
saki: You're amazing for being able to memorise and dance different parts. Isn't it confusing?
qu: It's actually not as difficult as you might think. Plus you get to view your own part as a spectator, which is interesting. You can focus more on the performance aspect too and I suppose above all, it's just a lot of fun. Fufu, I’ll have to thank Kasumi later, I’d almost forgotten this feeling.
saki: What do you mean?
qu: Last year during the performance of our show ‘silly and absurd’ we were all at odds for a while. We were firmly told not to stay off the stage during our closing show and Mokuren’s solo performance was truly beautiful.
It made me realise that I’d been overlooking the precision of my own dancing. I wasn't the only one who realised it either, it was as if the whole of C got punched in the face with their own weaknesses.
saki: But, things aren't that way now, right?
qu: Yeah, things are different now. Since I’ve remembered how I used to feel before. Rehearsing is fun, that should be a given yet I’d forgotten that simple sentiment.
And it's thanks to Kasumi, I’m once again reminded just how mature he is. Anyways, I better get back into it, we’re nearly at the end of the routine.
saki: Good luck!
saki: (Everyone looks like they're having fun. I’m glad.)
kasumi: Oh Saki-san, what's up?
aogiri: From the smile on her face I assume she's enjoying herself.
saki: Qu-san told me that he's having fun rehearsing and that made me happy too. He said it was thanks to you, Kasumi-san.
kasumi: Oh no, I haven't done a thing. I just remembered something that Mokuren once said a long time ago. Plus Hari has really grasped his role, that's the sort of quality that can easily be reproduced on the stage. You did well too, Aogiri. You easily memorised the choreo.
aogiri: I was simply following along as best I could. I was saved by Qu stepping forward for his solo. Meanwhile you were nothing short of perfect, you're always able to keep up with Mokuren.
kasumi: I wouldn't say that~ If Mokuren goes all out I have a hard time keeping up too. It feels as though I’m being pushed to my breaking point~ You can't go on the hunt without being prepared after all.
–end
Chapter 2-2
-starless back room-
ran: Hey, where’d the frilly things from the shoulders of the outfits go?
mokuren: Why on earth would I know the answer to that?
qu: Sorry, I haven't seen them around either. Did you bring them home with you yesterday?
hari: Sotetsu might know, have you asked him?
ran: I can't find them anywhere, I’m gonna be in trouble if I can't do my job properly!
mokuren: I didn't think you cared about doing your job properly.
ran: It's fun gettin’ to help out with a show that I’m not performin’ in.
mokuren: And so, what happened with B then?
ran: Nothin’ happened. We’re all just driftin’ about I guess. We’ve managed to meet up for rehearsals more than before. I’ve tried rufflin’ some feathers but we don't seem to be as on edge as before. I wouldn't say things are settled yet, but it feels like somethin’ is pushin’ our backs forwards.
hari: I’ve been thinking about this for a while, but why didn't you make your previous show a versus? At the end of the day you had a clash of ideals, correct? So wouldn't a versus have been the best way to settle things?
ran: You mean like have it be Mizuki vs Everyone Who Isn't Mizuki? Hmm, that wasn't really what was happenin’ though. Even if we did a versus it's like, hmm…
qu: If it were a versus there would be no way to escape the result. I think you guys instinctively avoided that.
ran: Yeah, maybe. Ya sure are smart, Qu!
mokuren: It's just like you guys to operate on instinct.
ran: I don't wanna be told that by ya, Mokuren.
-kongou appears-
kongou: Hm? You're all still here, I thought you were going on ahead of us with the costumes?
ran: I can't find the frilly bits for the shoulders of the costumes. Do ya know where they went, Kongou?
kongou: Do you mean the things that Aogiri had? He did say they'd been forgotten.
ran: Ah, it's probably those then! Did Aogiri already leave? I gotta chase him down!
-ran leaves-
qu: I’m glad they've been found.
mokuren: And so, why are you wearing a black suit, Kongou?
kongou: I'm meeting up with some people from the production team so I figured a suit would be best.
hari: You're the type to care about your appearance.
mokuren: Thanks, I’ll be leaving all of that production stuff to you. I feel much more at ease just having to dance,
qu: Mokuren, watch how you word things.

Chapter 3-1
-alleyway, day-
-aogiri is surrounded by thugs-
kongou: Huh? He’s getting surrounded over there. That's Aogiri, isn't it? We should probably help him.
kasumi: No, it's fine. They're already walking away from him since they noticed us.
kongou: Oh, you're right. Now they're just passing him by.
-aogiri walks over-
aogiri: My apologies to you both.
kongou: No worries, sorry for staring, it just looked like you were getting surrounded.
kasumi: Were they asking you for directions? You look like someone who would answer politely, Aogiri.
aogiri: Yes, that was the case. So where is everyone else? Did they already head to the performance hall?
kongou: Yeah, they went on ahead with Saki-chan.
aogiri: I see…
-performance hall, backstage-
man 1: Excuse me, young lady. You’re here from Starless, right? Some refreshments were delivered to the green room, could you go and confirm that for me?
saki: Huh? Oh, sure. Then I’ll go with someone…
man 1: I need you to check right away!
saki: Uwah, ok I’ll be going then!
-green room-
saki: Excuse me, um, the refreshments must be…
-sounds of fighting outside the room-
saki: Wah! W-what was that noise!?
kasumi’s voice: It's fine, Saki-san! Don't worry about it!
saki: Kasumi-san! Is something happening in the hallway!?
kasumi’s voice: Sorry for startling you, I came to assist you but dropped some things in the hallway. There's all sorts of stuff laying on the floor right now so it's too dangerous to come out. Just wait there a moment and don't open the door, ok?
saki: Oh, ok. Would you like me to help you clean up?
kasumi’s voice: No don't worry~ Aogiri is here with me too.
aogiri’s voice: Yes. There's no need for you to help, Saki-san.
kasumi’s voice: Just wait there a moment~
-hallway-
-kasumi pushes aogiri up against the wall-
kasumi: And so? That group I just took out, before I got here they were talking to you, weren't they?
aogiri: (coughing) You're quite skilled.
kasumi: Not really, I was just lucky you were distracted. So, were you tasked with helping kidnap her? Or are you just here to observe her without helping out? Were they from a different chain of command than you?
aogiri: What makes you think that?
kasumi: That group's way of doing things was too ill thought out and sloppy. It differs greatly to how you've been approaching things this past year and a half. They're completely different from you who joined Starless and have been patiently observing the situation this entire time.
aogiri: Hah, that's true. They weren't prepared to go on the hunt at all. I’m not into taking gambles that I’m likely to lose, so could you release me now? I won't resist anymore.
-kasumi lets aogiri go-
kasumi: That isn't the only reason that your loyalties are wavering though, is it? I’ll leave cleaning up the rest of those thugs to you. The show is starting soon so I need to get going.
aogiri: You’re going to turn a blind eye to me and those thugs?
kasumi: I have my own reasons.
aogiri: Ah, Kei must’ve told you to let me roam free like a fish in a tank, huh?
kasumi: Clean things up whilst I explain what happened in the green room.
-green room-
kasumi: Sorry for the wait~ Things are still a mess out there so please wait in here a little longer.
saki: Are you sure you don't want me to help?
kasumi: Aogiri’s on the job, don't worry. Also I wouldn't want to trouble you. You’ve come along with us to this business trip performance so I wouldn't want you getting caught up in anything troublesome.
saki: Don't worry about that, I’m the one who volunteered to come along. I wanted to help all of you in Team C, I’m not a staff member though so I can't do much.
kasumi: You don't have to worry about that sorta thing. That side of you really is cute.
saki: Huh? W-why did that suddenly come up!?
kasumi: I let my thoughts slip out, but it's true.

Chapter 3-2
-bridge underpass, night-
sotetsu: I gotta make sure I have insurance, I’ll send a message. There.
-kasumi appears-
sotetsu: Yo, Kasumi. Sorry for calling you out here, how's your show going? There's rumours spreading among our regular customers that C is performing an off-site show with a new guy standing in.
kasumi: (chuckles) A stand-in, huh?
sotetsu: The theatre hall is in disarray due to the absence of a middle-aged staff member who collapsed after seeing your opening show.
kasumi: Oh yeah. I saw that happen. His face went so pale that it was like he'd seen a ghost.
sotetsu: He was shocked by how much the stand-in on stage resembled the man he killed by his own hand. Was scaring the shit outta him part of your plan?
kasumi: (snickers)
sotetsu: The staff member who collapsed didn't do much work, but he was in charge of keeping the hot headed members of his group in check. While he isn't around to fulfil that role the underlings have been making moves haphazardly.
kasumi: They tried to get Aogiri on their side but it appears things didn't go in their favour.
sotetsu: “Things didn't go in their favour”? Well that's one way of putting it, you took them out yourself, didn't you?
The man who collapsed was a staff member who joined after the sudden death of your parents and your sister's disappearance. He was a client and yet he managed to win them over, his skills must hold a lot of water.
kasumi: …It's his calling. He's always been a criminal.
sotetsu: No mercy even though he's your uncle, huh?
kasumi: He doesn't deserve mercy.
sotetsu: True. He murdered his own brother and sister-in-law, then after inheriting their assets he changed his family registry and name. And has been deep in hiding ever since…
kasumi: I’ve found him now though. Finally, after all this time.
sotetsu: He’ll be coming back to work soon. He was on the phone saying he’s going to dispose of the documents so he needs the card.
kasumi: Card?
sotetsu: It appears the safe where the important documents are stored will only open with a special key card.

Chiaki is Saki's previous name yeah! the original dogtag that Kokuyou used to wear had Chiaki written on it and that dogtag belonged to Saki when she was at the lab, so along with other hints like Heath initially calling her Chiaki it's pretty much confirmed that it's her
Helluuuuur! I just wanna ask, where does the mc live? Does she have a house or an apartment?? Thenkyeeeeeew(≧▽≦)\(^o^)/
Hi! Saki has an apartment but ever since the finale of season 6 she has been living in a hotel paid for by kei (because her apartment was being monitored by the institution)
I have an update, in the main story chapter that just came out Kei bought Saki a brand new apartment with really good security LOL shes free from hotel life
Thanks for posting all the translation pookie! I always check your account if u posted or not lol.. there's only a small amount of people who post about blst.. And it's not available in my country and I can't understand japanese lol, thank you so much again, luv u pooks!🫂❤️🥺🫶🏻

Hi! Saki has an apartment but ever since the finale of season 6 she has been living in a hotel paid for by kei (because her apartment was being monitored by the institution)
ran: What's that noise? Someone's makin’ a racket out there.
-behind starless, night-
thug: Seriously now, there's no point resisting. Oi, you guys, carry him. We're taking him back with us.
-starless storage room-
ran: Hmm, it's just some thugs. And they're taking someone captive right in front of me? Bring it on~
-ran runs outside-
-behind starless, night-
ran: If ya wanna fight I’ll take ya on!
-punches thug-
thug: Guh! Who the fuck are you!?
ran: I was gonna ask ya the same thing. What business do ya have here?
zakuro: …R- Ran!
ran: Huh? What are ya doin’ out here, Zakuro?
zakuro: I shall explain later, just please do something about those thugs first!
ran: Woah, they roughed ya up pretty bad. Damn~ That's no good, ya bastards. Did no one teach ya not to go for the face? Don't worry, I’ll teach ya by usin’ your body as an example!
-ran beats up the thugs-
ran: That's it that's it, keep it comin’.
thug: T-this guy's strong…!
thug: Guh… Shit! Retreat!
-thugs run away-
ran: What? It's over already? The fun was just startin’ though.
-ran walks over to zakuro-
ran: Heeey, Zakuro? You ok~?
zakuro: (coughs) Indeed, indeed, somewhat. A great calamity befell me as I was cleaning up.
ran: Hmm, from the looks of it they must've surrounded ya real quick.
zakuro: I tried my very best to escape but I was outnumbered in every way. My powerless self was at a loss for what I should do.
ran: Well there were a lot of ‘em so it's no surprise ya got hurt.
zakuro: I’m shocked you were able to fight back against so many adversaries. Your fighting style which forces them to scatter is most impressive.
ran: That many of ‘em is a piece of cake. You owe me one now.
zakuro: Oh my, well well, what is it that you’d like to request of me? I suppose there are cases where verbal gratitude is not enough. I will do one favour to repay the debt.
ran: Ya can pay it back right now then. I’m free to use it up whenever, right?
-
Chapter 2
-behind starless, night-
zakuro: I will do one favour to repay the debt.
ran: Ya can pay it back right now then. I’m free to use it up whenever, right? Ok, so all ya gotta do is answer my question honestly. It's an easy question so don't worry! So tell me, what was the objective of those thugs?
zakuro: My, there's no way a feeble lamb like me would understand what a bunch of thugs is thinking.
ran: Ahaha, that's odd! Callin’ yourself a feeble lamb is hilarious.
zakuro: Perhaps they mistook me for somebody else. Or perhaps anyone from Starless would do.
ran: Hmm, I see, is that so? So you're sayin’ you really have no idea what they were after? I told ya that it was an easy question though, didn't I, Zakuro?
-ran punches zakuro-
zakuro: (coughing)
ran: Let me ask you again. Do you have any idea what their objective was? They weren't here for nothing, they said they were going to take you back.
zakuro: That's…
ran: Did you think I hadn't realised that? I overheard everything. So don't try to avoid the question, spit out everything that you know.
zakuro: I am most regretful for having to repeat myself, however my answer is still the same as before.
ran: Hmm.
-ran lets him go-
ran: Oh well. Ya don't look like you're lying.
zakuro: What cruel treatment I’ve had to endure, my day just keeps getting worse. Such violence, my heart has been shattered into tiny pieces. It's merely one calamity after the other. I’ve suffered injuries, my stage outfit has been dirtied and I was even interrogated by someone on my own side.
ran: Can't Aogiri fix your costume up for ya?
zakuro: ……..
ran: What's with that reaction? Aogiri is in charge of costumes, ain't he? And he's a singer for C along with you.
zakuro: Well well, my oh my. It is true that Aogiri is on the same team as I, and a singer at that. In any case, I am most thankful for your assistance regarding this tussle.
ran: Tch, I think you're avoidin’ the question again~ Well, whatever. I would recommend puttin’ some ice on ya injuries as soon as possible.
zakuro: Indeed indeed, I shall. You should be careful too.
-zakuro leaves-
ran: Somethin’ is definitely up with him… I wonder what he's hidin’.
unei: I can't find anyone from Team B anywhere. I wonder where they’ve all gone? I heard they got into a bit of an argument, do you think they're ok…? If you happen to find them could you make sure it doesn't turn into a fight?
Oh, come to think of it, they might be hanging out on the fire escape stairs, I’ll go and look there later too! Oh right, make sure you bring an umbrella with you, it might rain today.
-present-
saki: (I should check the fire escape stairs.)
-stairs-
lico: I can't walk by your side as we are now.
mizuki: What do you mean?
lico: The version of me that exists in your head isn't the real me. I don't want you deluding yourself into thinking it is.
mizuki: That's not what's happening here.
heath: It is. You're using us as an excuse to do what you want. You're the one who wants to stand on the stage, not me.
hinata: So you guys don't want to do the show then? Is Mizuki the only one who wants to?
lico: …….
mizuki: So you're saying you don't need B anymore then, huh?
kongou: The problem doesn't lie with us wanting to do the show or not, it's how Mizuki went about it, Hinata. It's because Mizuki proceeded with things without discussing it with us or considering our current situation first.
mizuki: The team’s leader is who makes the decisions. Don't all the other teams work the same way?
ran: Ahaha, that's a strange thing to say, Mizuki. Are ya sayin’ that if someone else did this to ya you'd be fine with it? It's simply a matter of things workin’ when other people do it but not when you do it. We don't trust you right now, you aren't lookin’ at us at all.
mizuki: Yes I am, I’m looking at all of you.
lico: That's why we're testing that theory and seeing if you really are considering us.
heath: We're testing whether or not you see the big picture as our leader.
ran: We're also tryin’ to figure out how exactly we all see each other as well.
kongou: What do you mean by that, Ran?
ran: This isn't just an issue with our leader, but also an issue with our relationship as fellow cast members. It's not fair to single Mizuki out as the bad guy.
hinata: Yeah, I agree. I don't understand complicated stuff like this though… It annoys me to admit it, but it's just like Kei said. B can't perform a show as we are now, right?
mizuki: Yes we can. We're going to perform as Team B.
ran: Sure, let's test that theory then. Who knows, by the end of this I might be the leader.
lico: Hah, who becomes the leader has nothing to do with this.
heath: I decided I’d write one more song, so I’ll stand on the stage for that.
kongou: Without Heath’s songs B can't perform after all.
hinata: Man, why'd this have to happen right after I finally got to join Starless?
-everyone leaves except mizuki-
mizuki: …I’ll never give up on Team B’s stage.
-cg gone, it starts raining-
saki: (Oh no, it's starting to rain…)
-she walks over to mizuki-
saki: Um, Mizuki-san, here's an umbrella, it's raining…
mizuki: Saki… It's just a bit of rain, it's not gonna hurt me. You should use it instead.
saki: ……. (she holds out the umbrella anyway)
mizuki: …Thank you.

Chapter 2
-rehearsal room-
kongou: Heath hasn't left the voice training room. He told everyone not to bother him, right?
ran: Yep! Maaan, this is kinda borin’ actually. The old Team B was more fun.
lico: Sigh, seriously, why did things end up this way? Even though I can't change anything I still feel regretful in situations like this.
ran: Can't do anythin’ about it huh? You would get dragged down by that wouldn't ya, Lico?
lico: Yeah and you probably wouldn't. Are you seriously aiming to take over being leader?
ran: Hmm. It’d probably be a pain, I like how laid back Starless is. We’re like a group of stray dogs that gathered here, it was fun~
kongou: Stray dogs…
ran: That's what it's like from my point of view at least. Like meetin’ a group of strangers.
kongou: Starless is a bit like that. Everyone has their own unique qualities.
lico: That's why Mizuki wanted our team to be like one big family, no? Because if we’re a family then we can say anything to each other and not have to hold back.
ran: True, now that you mention that aspect of B is a lil’ different to the other teams.
kongou: But just cause you're family doesn't mean that everything you do will be forgiven.
ran: Uwah, wisdom really does come with age!
lico: As expected from our elder, you make a sound argument there.
kongou: There's no point making points like that when we're in this situation though. This matter won't get solved through reasoning alone. We have to face each other head on, don't you think?
lico: So diligent…
ran: I feel like Kongou is the one who's avoiding facing this the most though~
kongou: Ahahaha….
ran: Should we go ask Nee-chan for her opinion?
lico: I don't want to look this lame in front of her.
kongou: True, I think we’ve already troubled her enough.
ran: Hmm, then how about we try facin’ each other head on with our fists?
lico: What? Hell no. If I fought you I’d get steamrolled.
kongou: I’d rather not fight either. It's not good to solve everything with violence, Ran.
ran: Ahahaha, that's too bad ★. Would've been easier if we could solve it that way.

Chapter 3
-street, day-
hinata: Heya, Mizuki, Miss. Where are you headed?
saki: I don't know, Mizuki-san told me there was a place that he wanted to go.
hinata: Hmm, sounds like it's somewhere important.
mizuki: Shut up, Hinata.
-mizuki walks ahead-
hinata: He didn't deny that it was important.
saki: That's true, I guess we'll find out when we get there.
hinata: Ah, he walked off ahead of us. Mizuki~ Wait up!
-hinata and saki run to catch up-
-shrine entrance, day-
hinata: It's a shrine. Is this where you wanted to go?
mizuki: Saki brought me to this place once before.
saki: I did?
mizuki: You might not remember, but I do. Back then I was even more of a brat. Humans are destined to die*. After discussing that, I came here. Back then you and Lico were with me… Then, when I met Heath here for the first time, he told me that I don't know how to use my words.
-flashback, shrine entrance, day-
heath: Life must be hard for you. Since you don't know how to use your words.
mizuki: You sure are a monotonous guy. That doesn't really suit hiphop, y’know.
heath: When it comes to hiphop all you need is flow. It's impossible to convey your thoughts in a world like this.
-present-
mizuki: “It's impossible to convey your thoughts in a world like this.” I’ve always thought the same.
hinata: It's impossible to convey your thoughts in a world like this…
mizuki: First it was just me and Lico. I hated P and Lico hated K. Heath put that into words for us and we stood on the stage alongside Ran and Kongou. And that's when we properly became ‘Team B’.
saki: So that's why you wanted to come to this shrine? It's one of the places that started Team B.
mizuki: I don't know, maybe.
hinata: The place where Team B started… I wish I could've been there at the start too. I wish I could've been here…
mizuki: Well you're here now aren't you? Isn't that enough?
hinata: Huh?
saki: I know, since we're already here how about we go and pray at the shrine?
mizuki: Sounds good, it is a shrine after all. We came here for new years too.
hinata: Is it ok if I come too?
mizuki: Of course, why wouldn't it be?
saki: Let's go, Hinata-san.
hinata: Yeah!

(*This is calling back to when Mizuki said the same thing in S1Ch5 Common Ch5 before they went to meet Heath)

Chapter 4
-convenience store, day-
saki: Oh, Mizuki-san. Are you shopping?
mizuki: Hm, I’m shopping and snacking I guess. You should join me.
saki: Sure.
-park, day-
mizuki: Are you sure you just want a drink? You don't want some karaage or chocolate or something?
saki: I’m fine with just a drink.
mizuki: Hm, ok. I’m gonna dig in then.
saki: What kind of food did you buy?
mizuki: When it comes to frankfurters I’ve always gotta eat at least two. I missed my chance to eat one a while back so I felt like eating them… Y’know, it feels good being able to buy my own food and eat it.
saki: Fufu, it sure does.
mizuki: Mm, are you sure you don't want one?
saki: You can eat them, you want to eat more than one right?
mizuki: Imma eat then.
-happy mizuki eating noises-
saki: Fufu, gone in a flash.
mizuki: I’ve always been a fast eater. When I came to Starless everyone kept telling me to slow down when I ate.
But if I’m not quick, Ran will snatch up the food before me. Though, he makes up for it by treating me to a meal sometimes.
Kongou always makes sure to give me bonus pieces of karaage.
I wouldn't give anything to Lico, he eats so goddamn slow.
As for Heath, he won't eat anything if you leave him alone, so I’d give him half of whatever I’m having.
Hinata wouldn't eat something without asking, but he always asks me to share.
…They're a fun bunch of guys.
mizuki: ……. (eats)
mizuki: However, right now all this food is for me. You’re not eating either, so I'm not sharing this meal with anyone.
saki: Ah, sorry about that…
mizuki: What’re you apologising for? I wasn't blaming you. You're hanging out with me, so I should be the one thanking you. So, thank you, Saki.
saki: I’m sure you'll be able to eat with everyone again next time.
mizuki: You think so? …Yeah, we will. To make it happen I’ve gotta do my best in the show as Team B’s leader… I’ll prove that we're Team B. P
I can't run away now, I won't. I’m gonna go at it with all I have. Anyways, I gotta perform first, that's where I’ve gotta start. Watch me, Saki. I’ll show you an awesome performance.
saki: I’ll be cheering you on, Mizuki-san. And everyone else as well.

Common Chapter 7-1
-rehearsal room-
mizuki: That's it for today's meeting. If you have any other problems, tell Unei. Oh and also, the number of thugs around here have been increasing. They might be targeting Saki, so be careful.
-time pass, behind starless, night-
lico: Sigh, it's already our closing show. This performance may be over but where do we even go from here~ …Hm?
-thug is shown in alleyway-
lico: Is that what he meant by there being more thugs around? That's not good at all… I need to tell Kotori-chan to not use the back entrance.
-more thugs appear-
lico: Crap, did we just make eye contact…?
thug 1: Hey there young man, you work at this store, yeah?
thug 2: Do you mind calling that woman who visits this place out here for us?
lico: ……..
thug 1: Oi, you listening?
lico: I’m not sure what you mean, this store is a gross place that's full of men. There's no way a woman would be working here like you imply.
thug 1: Don't fuck with us. You wanna go?
thug 2: You won't talk without a beating first huh? That's fine with me. Here comes the first punch ♪.
-he punches lico in the stomach-
lico: Guh… (coughing)
thug 1: The heck was that, you softie. Not gonna go for the head?
thug 2: This store puts on shows or something right? It’d be a pity if I messed up his face.
thug 1: Fine, I won't fuck up his face either then. Take this!
-punches lico again-
lico: Guh!
-lico collapses-
thug 2: Yo, this dude is seriously weak. Wasn't there supposed to be some mad dog fighter here?
thug 1: The rest of them will come running out soon enough, we should get started
-mizuki appears-
mizuki: Oi Lico, what’re you doing out here? The show's starting.
lico: Mizuki… (coughing)
mizuki: Lico!
-he rushes over to lico-
mizuki: Did you fuckers do this to him?
thug 1: Another one appeared, let's finish him quickly.
-thug tries to punch mizuki but he dodges-
mizuki: Try it bitch, take this!
-mizuki punches thug-
thug 1: Gyahh!
-thug 1 collapses-
thug 2: Oh, this one looks like he can fight. I won't hold back either!
mizuki: Lico, get back inside. Call someone out here.
lico: But, you, we have the show…
mizuki: Just get inside already! As for the show–
thug 2: Hey don't start chatting, fight me!
mizuki: I’ll leave the show to you, Lico! You’re our number 2, aren't you? You're second in command! So don't you dare be late for that curtain rising!
-mizuki fights the thug-
lico: Fuck…!
-lico goes inside-

-backstage-
ran: Ah, there ya are Lico, you're late. Where's Mizuki?
kongou: What happened, Lico? You look like you were in a fight.
lico: Mizuki took my place and started fighting them back.
ran: Idiot, so he's out there on his own!? I’m goin’ to back him up!
lico: But he said! Mizuki said that we couldn't be late for the curtain rising…
kongou: This isn't the time for him to be saying that is it?
hinata: What? What are we supposed to do!?
heath: He's telling us to go ahead with the show…
maica: What are you lot doing? The show's set to start now, the guests are getting restless.
sinju: Did something happen? Should we make an announcement?
menou: Apparently Mizuki got caught up in a fight.
sinju: What!?
sotetsu: Out the back right? Got it. Akira, where's Kokuyou?
akira: He's already headed out there. I’ll go and gather some others to help.
sotetsu: Got it. I’ll head out there too.
kei: (sighs) I’ll go too. I just received word that a whole lot more have congregated out there. I’ll leave Saki to Gui. Begin the show, if that is what Mizuki desires. I’m sure he hasn't abandoned his own stage, make sure you create a place for him.
heath: But, without him–
kongou: We have no choice but to perform a version without Mizuki… Hinata, can you take his place?
lico: No, if we do that then Mizuki can't return to the stage.
hinata: I can't perform Mizuki’s role.
rindou: I’ll perform in his place then, I’ve memorised the performance.
ran: But why!?
rindou: I watched your show from the hall, so I’m familiar with it. The details will be a little rough though, so I’ll need you to back me up.
maica: I’ll return to the hall with Sinju then. Let's go, Sinju.
sinju: Yes. We’ll make sure the guests don't notice anything’s up since B is doing their best.
-maica and sinju leave-
kongou: Are you sure though, Rindou? This is a B show.
rindou: Though it may not live up to the quality of a proper B show, I will do my very best. I won't make any obvious mistakes.
ran: I mean, it's Rindou we’re talkin’ about, I’m sure he can do it. I’ll do my best too!
heath: Then, we're going on with Rindou?
kongou: What do you think, Lico?
lico: …He covered for me. And he told me to perform. So we're gonna perform. It's showtime, let's do this.
hinata: I’ll go tell Unei-san everything!
-hinata runs off-
lico: He really made me have to make this decision. So much for me being second in command.
heath: Lico, it's starting.
lico: Godammit, I said I’d do it, alright!
-time pass, backstage-
-rindou comes off the stage-
hinata: You're seriously way too good at being Mizuki’s substitute, it's amazing…
rindou: I’m just a stopgap, I can't keep this up. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to manage the second half of the performance…
-mizuki walks up with an injured face-
mizuki: What the hell are you doing here, shitty Rindou.
hinata: Mizuki…!
mizuki: You can't perform for shit, you really don't understand B’s stage at all, do you?
rindou: ……..
mizuki: Switch out, I’ll show you how it's done. …Thank you for holding things together though.
rindou: Think of it as thanks for giving me that frankfurter.
mizuki: Hahah! You can't go wrong with food, can you? Anyways, it's time for me to turn this shit up a notch!

-starless office-
mizuki: Ouch! That stings so bad!
saki: Ah, I’m sorry! I’ll be more gentle.
ran: Why’s Nee-chan the one tendin’ to Mizuki’s wounds?
kongou: She came here because she was worried after seeing that Mizuki was injured.
ran: But she doesn't have to tend to him, y’know? Can’t Unei do it?
heath: Saki’s aware that she's the one being targeted by those thugs.
lico: I wonder if Kei will be mad.
kongou: He's off dealing with the aftermath of the surprise attack, isn't he? Hopefully he doesn't find out.
-unei appears-
unei: Have you finished treating Mizuki-san’s injuries? I’ve brought the results of your show. Ta-daa! Here are the guest surveys! I’ll hand them out now~ I summarised the comments into a document and printed them out. Here you go~ Take a look. You too, Saki-san.
saki: Thank you.
saki: (I wonder what the result will be… Ah.)
ran: –Woah! There's so many compliments!
heath: Even though the show was so intense.
hinata: The show was great though! Seriously, it was!
kongou: I guess we’ve got our proof then, huh?
mizuki: Our proof…
lico: Sigh. So after all that it ends up like this. Those wounds of yours have become badges of honour.
ran: Oh, that's a nice way of puttin’ it!
kongou: Good for you, Mizuki. You've worked hard, congrats.
saki: I’m happy for you, Mizuki-san. Everyone showed their support for Team B.
mizuki: Hm…? Huh? Oh… Uh… You mean the guests acknowledged us? They recognised us as being ‘Team B’?
saki: Yes.
lico: Yeah, that's what we've been saying. The guests are saying that we're fine as we are.
hinata: …Mizuki? Are you not happy about that?
mizuki: Sure I am but like, that's not it.
heath: What's not it?
mizuki: I’m glad the guests support us but this won't end with just that, will it? You guys hated my decisions, that hasn't changed. No matter how much the guests support us, it still won't…
heath: Mizuki…
heath: (sighs fondly) If you had been happy with this result then it really would’ve ended with that. I, however, still haven't acknowledged you.
mizuki: Heath…
heath: I don't know if I’ll still be able to write lyrics for B. I can't write lyrics for anyone but myself anymore. But… I don't think this show was half bad. The guests were watching us earnestly after all.
-heath smiles and leaves-
kongou: Ah, hey Heath, wait! …Is it ok to let him leave?
lico: Why not? He didn't say that he can't write lyrics for B, he said that he doesn't know if he can.
ran: Which means there's still a chance that he will.
saki: (Heath-san… He was smiling as he left though, so maybe it's ok.)

-starless storage room-
kei: Thank you greatly for your assistance today.
kokuyou: You have no right saying that.
mokuren: You're only thankful we saved Starless, aren't you?
kei: No, I am simply expressing my sincere gratitude.
kei: …What's with those looks?
kokuyou: No, it's nothing.
mokuren: Who were that group of thugs anyways? They retreated pretty quickly once the tables were turned on them…
-mizuki runs up-
mizuki: Oi, you guys, is Rindou– Oh, thanks for coming to help me, you guys saved my ass. There was no way I could've taken them all on by myself.
mokuren: Oh my, how very honest of you. You’ve grown up, Mizuki.
mizuki: Shut it.
kokuyou: We're not the only ones you should be thanking.
mizuki: I know, so where is he?
kei: I saw him at the back entrance a moment ago.
mizuki: Got it.
-mizuki runs off-
-behind starless, night-
mizuki: Rindou!
rindou: Mizuki.
mizuki: Bastard, don't just go home, I’ve been looking for you. I gotta talk to you, so answer my question. Why did you stand on Team B’s stage?
rindou: I told you, it was to pay you back for that frankfurter you gave me.
mizuki: Hm…
rindou: Not satisfied with that answer, huh? I simply didn't want your show to be canceled. I watched your show during its run and thought to myself that it was different from how Team P’s shows operate.
mizuki: Obviously.
rindou: The reason you're able to put on such a show is because of your team members.
mizuki: Yeah and that's got nothing to do with you.
rindou: Heaps of guests support B and look forward to your shows.
mizuki: Yeah, I know.
rindou: And– I didn't want to make Saki-san worry.
mizuki: I see…
rindou: Listen, Mizuki. I believe that you have your own unique style of show.
mizuki: Of course I do, are you stupid? That's B’s show. It's a show made by all of us.
rindou: Yes, it's not my show, but it is still a Starless show. And that made me remember when you said that you hate Team P’s stage.
mizuki: How long ago was that? You sure are persistent.
rindou: And yet, back then you still stood on P’s stage.
mizuki: It wasn't for your sake.
rindou: Then I’m the same. I didn't stand on B’s stage for your sake either. I probably stood up there for the sake of Team P.
mizuki: I seriously can't understand you. Don't even bother explaining, I won't get it. But– Because you filled in for me, we were able to complete our show's run. So, thank you for that.

-starless hallway-
saki: Heath-san!
heath: Saki… I feel like I should apologise for a lot of things, and also thank you.
saki: Huh? What's this about?
heath: You had to watch all of B argue and some scary stuff has gone down these past few days… And it's my fault for dragging you around. Sorry, my head's a mess today, I won't be able to escort you to the station.
saki: Is that so? Well, I’ll be going then.
heath: Yeah, be careful. Make sure you get someone else to escort you.
saki: I will. Good work today, Heath-san.
-saki leaves-
heath: Sigh…
-time pass, starless balcony, night-
kei: You still haven't gone home?
heath: Did you escort Saki?
kei: Of course. You were worried about her, weren't you?
heath: Yeah.
kei: The rest of B were looking for you as well but I sent them all home. Should I have done that?
heath: Yeah. You shouldn't have come back either.
kei: (laughs) I suppose.
heath: Sigh…. I thought this when we were kids too, I already understood back then. One day you suddenly went off and grew up before us. You became able to handle everything by yourself.
Now too, you're able to do things that I simply can't. Even though I desperately want to protect her as well. Hinata told me that I was the one being unfair, but in my opinion, it's you who's being unfair.
kei: I see. However there are things that you can do that I am incapable of.
heath: What are you talking about? Are you trying to get me to cooperate with you?
kei: I know that you hold animosity towards me, however, if possible– If you wish to protect Saki’s heart, then could you lend me a hand?
heath: (big sigh) Seriously, you're always using such underhanded methods. You know that there's no way I’d refuse after everything that's happened to her these past few days.

EX 3
-outside starless, day-
saki: (Hm? That person who just walked out of the alleyway is Aogiri-san, isn't it?)
-aogiri notices her and walks over-
aogiri: Hello, Saki-san.
saki: Is something the matter? You look as though something happened.
aogiri: Oh no, I was just unexpectedly approached by some people in that alley.
saki: What? Are you ok!?
aogiri: Yes. I answered them politely and they allowed me to leave. But it really was a surprise. To be honest I didn't think that I was regarded as a member of Starless.
saki: Huh? What do you mean?
aogiri: Oh, sorry. I didn't mean that I don't think the others at Starless consider me a member. But I’ve been working here for about a year and a half now, so I wondered if I look like a cast member to outsiders. I want to produce results here, however…
saki: Aogiri-san…
-kongou appears-
kongou: Oh, what are you two doing talking out here? It's cold, isn't it? How about you talk inside?
aogiri: Good point. My apologies, Saki-san. Let's head inside.
-starless kitchen, table area-
kongou: I’ll pour you some tea, just wait there a moment.
aogiri: Do you need me to help out with anything?
kongou: I’m good. Rather I think you should rest a bit, you look a little pale.
aogiri: I’m perfectly fine though…
saki: You were approached by potentially dangerous people before though weren't you? That's not nothing.
aogiri: Are you worried about me? Thank you.
saki: Public safety has gotten worse around here lately, all sorts of things have been happening…
aogiri: Rather than worry about me you should look out for yourself. People may try to take advantage of your kindness.
-aogiri steps closer-
aogiri: Or could it be that you want me to take advantage of it?
saki: What? No, please don't.
aogiri: (laughs) That's what gets you to tell me to stop? How cute. I want to get to know you better, we haven't had many opportunities to talk.
saki: That's true, we never really get the chance…
-flashback, starless hallway-
aogiri: I knew that the chances of you remembering would be very low but— It would be helpful if you remembered. Don't worry, I’ll assist you.
-present-
saki: Could it be that I’m forgetting something?
aogiri: Perhaps. How much do you remember?
saki: I don't know… I don't know what I’m forgetting.
saki: (What have I forgotten?)
aogiri: Having gaps in your memory is like trying to solve a mystery within yourself. And those gaps are affecting you greatly right now. The reason you're being targeted is related to that too, don't you think?
Don't worry, I’ll assist you. Don't forget that I’ve said that.
saki: Aogiri-san…
kongou: I’m not sure what's going on, but you don't have to force it. You might just remember one day by chance. Here you go, a nice hot cup of tea. You won't think positively with a cold body.
saki: Ah, thank you… It's nice and warm.
kongou: Just cause you’ve forgotten something doesn't mean you’ll never remember. That's what I believe at least. Do you want to remember whatever it is, Saki-chan?
saki: I don't know…
kongou: Oh, sorry sorry. I guess it would depend on what it is you’ve forgotten after all.
aogiri: I hope you can remember soon.
saki: Yeah… I feel as though I can't stay this way anymore.

-voice training room-
hinata: Hey hey, get this Miss. I did some voice training the other day. Maica gave me some tips, he told me that I’ve got a knack for it ★.
He showed me how to properly sing ‘Dawn Doesn't Wait’. I was never a fan of P, but doing that training course with them was actually pretty fun.
saki: Training course… Ooh, you mean the one that happened last summer.
hinata: I had no idea what Kei was going on about when he suggested it but afterwards I realised it wasn't so bad. Plus I was super cool in that performance, wasn't I?
hinata: Shut up already, you're a nuisance. If you just want to talk then go somewhere else.
hinata: What? Come on, it's fine isn't it? I’m talking with Miss, not you!
heath: Saki doesn't belong to you. I hate the look of your colour.
hinata: You're really possessive of her aren't you, Heath?
heath: Excuse me?
hinata: I’m talking about how you want to be the one by her side. I can understand the feeling~ I want to be by her side forever as well.
-hinata hugs saki-
saki: Wah.
-heath steps forwards-
heath: I told you to get lost. Let go of her.
hinata: Can't I stay a little longer? You were already using the room before I got here. You're always there ahead of me, always there in the places that I want to be!
heath: What are you going on about? What's being here first got to do with anything?
hinata: I wanted what you have. Even if it meant that I’d have to kick you down, I wanted it.
heath: You, that colour…
hinata: So could you not lend me some more time with her!?
saki: Wait a moment, what's gotten into you two so suddenly? Calm down please…
heath: Why are you… You haven't acted like this until now.
hinata: Because it doesn't matter what I say, fate can't be changed. Heath, you understand now right? That we both stand before the same fate.
heath: I won't obey whatever fate says. I don't plan to die.
saki: (What are they talking about? I’m not following at all…)
hinata: Ah, that's right. That's another thing that makes you Heath. You can ‘see it’ but you 'can't do anything about it’. You understand what I’m saying, right?
heath: You… Get away from her already!
-heath pushes hinata-
saki: Ah! Heath-san, don't push him! Stop it!
hinata: It's not fair. Everyone’s always looking at you. It's always just you who they see…!
saki: Please settle down you two!
choice:
It's ok, Heath-san
>Calm down, Hinata-san
hinata: Even though I’m supposed to be invisible…!
heath: (coughing) It's mine, you can't do it…! My voice, my words, all of it! They were given to me, they're mine!
hinata: I wanted to be gifted those things too. I wanted them so bad…
saki: Heath-san, Hinata-san…
-lico runs in-
lico: Hold on, what on earth are you doing, Heath!? You don't have the strength to have a physical fight, do you?
-lico and ran break them up-
ran: You too, Hinata! Step aside, step aside.
kongou: Are you alright, Saki-chan?
saki: I’m fine, just a little shaken up…
heath: (breathing heavily) It belongs to me… If I didn't have this then I wouldn't be able to live…
saki: Heath-san… Hinata-san…

-starless entrance, day-
kokuyou: Yo, Saki. I heard you were present for another one of B’s arguments. Heath and Hinata had a huge fight, right? Sorry you had to see that.
saki: Ah, no it's ok. You don't need to apologise for that, Kokuyou-san.
kokuyou: Well it's not like it was my fault but it obviously isn't yours either. I’ll get Taiga to make some coffee for you so come on in.
-starless office-
kokuyou: The hell? Why are you here eating cake with such a pissy look on your face?
kei: (shocked) Saki. I apologise for being so rude.
saki: Sorry for intruding.
kokuyou: Is this Kongou’s latest test batch? Let me try one.
kei: It's not a trial for anything, I think Kongou made them to take his mind off things.
kokuyou: (eating) Not bad. It has a nice citrus flavour. Here, you have some too, I’m sure Kongou will want to know what you thought.
saki: Ok, thank you. (eats the cake) Oh, it's delicious.
kei: I’ll let Kongou know.
saki: It has a nostalgic flavour.
saki: ('Nostalgic’...? Wait, why did I say that?)
-screen flashes white then black briefly-
kei: Are you alright, Saki?
kokuyou: Do you feel sick?
saki: (I don't want to worry them so much…)
saki: Sorry, I just lost my footing for a second, maybe it's because the cake was so delicious?
kokuyou: If you say so.
kei: I’ll bring you something warm to drink.
-kei leaves-
kokuyou: Here, have a seat.
-dogtag jingles-
saki: That sound–
kokuyou: Oh, it's my dogtag, does the noise bother you?
saki: No, don't worry. Now that you mention it though, you're always wearing those.
kokuyou: Yeah, it became a habit. I’ve worn them since I was a kid.
saki: Is that so…
-kei returns-
kei: Kokuyou.
kokuyou: Yeah yeah, I’m too close to her, right?
-kokuyou backs up-
kei: You seem to be ok now, just rest for a while longer. I’ll leave your cup on the table, it's hot so be careful. Kokuyou, could I talk to you for a moment?
-starless hallway-
kokuyou: What now?
kei: When did you first start wearing that dogtag?
kokuyou: Why do you need to know that? Are you interested in anything she is?
kei: Perhaps.
kokuyou: You're not supposed to admit that with such a serious face. But whatever. I’ve been wearing it since I was a kid, does that answer suffice?
kei: Is your name engraved on it?
kokuyou: No… It's not my name.

SideA 5
-starless backrooms-
ran: Oh, Maica. You're not voice trainin’?
maica: I have a floor shift today. Why do you ask?
ran: Cause ya look like you wanna go in the room.
maica: I’ll go when I don't have a shift. Also, I have something I want to ask you. Is it true that Heath and Hinata had a big fight the other day? I heard that me teaching him how to sing in the voice training room was what caused it…
ran: Oh that, it wasn't your fault. It's just somethin’ goin’ on between those two. I mean, B are at odds right now so just blame it on bein’ part of that. Ya don't have to worry about it. Everythin’ is such a mess at the moment, both here and on the streets. Starless might have to announce its closure soon.
maica: Well I personally don't feel like letting it come to an end. You shouldn't say stuff like that.
ran: Way to go, Maica-sama. It really sounded like you're focused on Starless right now.
maica: Yes, I am. That's why I can't revive the BC Detective Team.
ran: But didn't ya want to help Nee-chan?
maica: Yes, I still do. But people have their limits. If you end up spreading yourself too thin you won't be able to protect anything. The same goes for P right now, we weren't able to reach any conclusion.
ran: Hmm. I think everyone on P should just do whatever they want to.
maica: That's what you think for B too, isn't it? I think differently.
ran: Okay, got it. Then we’ll say goodbye to the BC Detective Team forever!
maica: I’m grateful though. You've given me a chance to get my head back in the game. Thank you, Ran.
ran: Uwah! The kindness of humanity!
maica: Huh?
ran: Nothin’, thank ya too!
-menou appears-
menou: Oh, so all the black card stuff is settled then? What did you call yourselves again? The BC Detective Team?
maica: Menou, why do you know that…!?
menou: What? You were just talking about it the other day weren't you? When we were pureeing corn.
ran: Oh yeah, in the kitchen.
maica: it's because you speak too carelessly.
ran: Sorry sorry.
menou: I’m not interested in the details so don't worry. Maica has settled his worries, right?
ran: Ooh, so you were worried about Maica were ya, Menou? You two sure are close.
maica: He just wants me to focus on my singing for the sake of the show. He's not worried for my sake.
menou: What a mean thing to say. I could be worried about you too, you know.
maica: About me not taking to the stage as a singer, right? Well, I do understand the sentiment,
ran: Rindou’s been the singer for ya last couple shows, hasn't he? Lumisnow was voted by the guests though, so that one made sense. Ah, is that why ya worried? You're not sure when Maica will get his turn?
menou: Yes, so I need to clear up any worries he may have.
ran: So in the end ya really are just thinkin’ about the stage, huh?
maica: It's not about the order though. So it may be good for me to thoroughly go over my singing. The fact that I’m our team's singer won't change. So I need to review myself as a singer.

-starless entrance, night-
iwami: Hey there, little lady. Are you headed to Starless?
saki: Oh, you too, Iwami-san?
iwami: Nah, I’m just passing by. I have other matters that I need to attend to. Have you heard that Starless might be holding an off site performance soon?
saki: Oh really? I haven't heard no.
iwami: Well it's just something I’ve heard, nothing but idle gossip, so don't worry about it. By the way, could you do a small errand for me? Please hand this note over to Zakuro for me.
saki: To Zakuro-san? Sure thing.
iwami: Thanks. I don't know Zakuro’s contact information y’see. I had planned to ask Hinata to do it for me but I don't have time to wait for him anymore. So sorry for the trouble and thank you. I’ll be heading off now.
-iwami leaves-
-break room-
saki: (Let's see, Zakuro-san is… There he is. Looks like he's talking to Nekome-san.)
saki: Hello you two.
nekome: Oh, welcome to Starless Saki-chan.
zakuro: Why if it isn't the call of the little birdie whose song never fails to put a smile on my face. Shall I escort you to the hall?
saki: Ah, before that I have this for you, Zakuro-san. Iwami-san asked me to give it to you.
zakuro: This note is from Iwami-san you say?
nekome: Since he asked you to do it, that must mean that Kou-san isn't dropping by the store today?
saki: He said he had another matter to attend to. I only ran into him by chance outside the store. He said he didn't have Zakuro-san’s contact information and that he was planning to ask Hinata-san instead of me.
nekome: Well that's what happens if messages aren't going through. I’m glad he didn't call me instead. Rather than Kou-san’s request I’d rather hear a request from you, Saki-chan.
saki: In that case, have you seen Hinata-san around? I want to pass the message on to him as well.
nekome: I saw him in the locker room, he's probably getting ready for B’s show.
saki: Um… What kind of mood was Hinata-san in? Did he look ok?
nekome: Huh? He seemed like his usual self to me… Why do you ask?
saki: Well…
nekome: Oh, is this because of the fight he had with Heath? You were there weren't you? I heard about it from the others who witnessed it. Must've been quite the shock right? Sorry you had to see that.
saki: It's ok, it wasn't anybody's fault.
nekome: I’ll let Hinata know that you handed over the note. I’ll tell him to go and greet you himself if he has time after the show.
saki: Thank you. I’ll head over to the hall now then.
nekome: I’m headed that way as well. See you there.
-saki leaves-
nekome: What's the matter, Zakuro? You’ve been staring off into space this whole time.
zakuro: Oh my, oh no how careless of me. I was simply surprised by the strange coincidence of the little birdie becoming a little carrier pigeon.
nekome: I’m more surprised by the fact Kou-san wanted to get in contact with you at all. Since when were you two acquainted?
zakuro: We exchanged a couple of words a few days ago.
nekome: So you do know each other?
zakuro: My, you have plenty of your own things to deal with, I wouldn't recommend interfering with mine. Let’s put it this way, “Going ahead is easy, but returning is scary*”.
nekome: Life is a one way road, so there's no point in worrying about the way back. Plus, I made my return to Starless just fine.
zakuro: I see, that is a way of looking at it indeed. Well then, I shall head over to the hall now.
nekome: I’ll go after a quick smoke.
-zakuro leaves-
nekome: I returned to make up for my own mistakes, y’know. ~♪

unei: Mizuki-san~ Is this really ok?
mizuki: I said it was fine, just tell ‘em already.
unei: B-but…
-rindou appears-
rindou: Unei-kun, about my shift today… What's going on? Isn't it time for Team B’s rehearsal?
unei: Listen to this, Rindou-san. Mizuki-san said that B won't be rehearsing today, he told me to inform the rest of Team B.
rindou: I see. Then you should do that.
unei: What? B-but…
rindou: If the team leader said so then so be it. It's not like we always need to rehearse every single day. Plus you should inform the others sooner rather than later before it causes any confusion.
unei: Ok… understood. Are you really truly sure, Mizuki-san?
mizuki: Shut up already, I’ve said it's fine a million times!
unei: Got it!
-unei leaves-
mizuki: Why are you still here?
rindou: Oh, sorry. I’ll leave.
mizuki: Wait a minute.
rindou: …What is it?
mizuki: Why did you abandon Team P? Aren't you supposed to be their leader?
rindou: I didn't abandon them… The team isn't what I threw away. What I abandoned was myself, I’m aware that I was being selfish. I’m not sure what I was trying to achieve either. I wanted to protect Team P, and yet, I was the one who destroyed it.
mizuki: You’ve always been like that though. Selfish and annoying as hell.
rindou: True, I’ve released that now.
mizuki: What's with that attitude? It's just how you are. You piss me off, you're a selfish fucked up bastard with no allies.
rindou: Huh? Well, I guess.
mizuki: But, you still manage to make it work. Not that I really get it. But you never kick people down and you always solve disputes with words. That's why I wanted to ask you that, that's all there is to it!
rindou: Mizuki… Sorry for intruding on your practice, I’ll take my leave now.
-rindou leaves-
mizuki: Goddamn shitty Rindou! You can't protect shit, cause you're not the kinda guy to protect stuff in the first place! As for me I… I… It's not like I want to protect anything… I just want to be with them. I thought they'd stick by me…

-shipping container yard, night-
iwami: This place will be scrapped soon too, though I hope I can make it in time.
master: You're still using this place?
iwami: Uwah– Don't conceal your presence around me, I’m just a regular old person y’know.
master: You don't intend to answer?
iwami: The situation seems to have changed quite a bit on your end. Have you stopped pretending to be a moderate faction? Wasn't the 'organisations’ goal to neutralise them?
master: Yes, that has not changed. But the situation has started to move very quickly, so I intervened.
iwami: Haven't you got your cause and effect mixed up there? It's cause you intervened that things started moving.
master: If that's what it looks like to you, then that's fine. Whichever path you take, nothing can be stopped anymore.
iwami: You and Kei really are like teacher like student. You don't care what other people think and you don't explain anything either. You only devote yourselves to your goal.
master: Kei is already walking down a different path to me. He is not opposed to going against the organisation.
iwami: His goal hasn't changed from when he was safeguarded by the organisation until now. It's always been the same.
Sigh, alas there's always a flipside to a nice conversation. I was told by youngsters all the time. “The research laboratories vary greatly, you should do proper research into them first.” “You should question cutting edge laboratories even more than the scouts.”
master: That's because a regular person can't sniff out whether or not it's a laboratory under the institution's influence. Back then and now still, you're a regular person. The Miki couple are the same.
iwami: True but still. We were just lucky to have been saved by your organisation.
master: You should be grateful that coincidence occured. At the time you had no idea that your research was being used for illegal experiments.
iwami: Whether my research was used with or without my consent makes no difference. Either way, I wasn't able to destroy and discard everything.
A dosage of medication that's too strong will become poison. There was always a chance the research would be started up again, and that's exactly what happened.
master: Was the reason you also continued your research after escaping the institution really because you wanted to put an end to it all?
iwami: I wanted to fix things before the institution found me. Except I wasn't able to hide myself completely, even with your organisation's help. And ultimately, they found me.
I never should've become an IT engineer, I should've just become a farmer in the countryside or something…
master: But there's no way you would've done that. Throwing everything away is difficult.
iwami: I should've at least been a lower rank engineer. Then I could've just ignored it if any of the systems went up in flames.
master: It's too late for that now, but back then what would've been your best option yes. Including when the institution invited you to the project.
iwami: Is the institution the source of that too?
master: It's possible. You should know already that the institution will stop at nothing to achieve their goals, what they want is complete control over BLACKCARD.
iwami: Even though we implemented the two bracket system to confuse them, we're out of time. They seemed to be pretty fooled by the camouflaged dark net though.
master: You didn't truly believe that you could hide the primary control system there forever, did you?
iwami: That's why the institution sent an agent of theirs to Starless.
master: If you have somebody with inside knowledge, it's easy to obtain information and respond if the worst were to occur.
iwami: I managed to buy enough time though.
master: For how long will they be saved this time?
iwami: I’m not sure, I want to say for as long as possible but… My issue wasn't realised. Also, the institution warped my research, it'll be tough to deal with the damage that's been done.
master: Is it already too late for Hinata then? is he aware of this?
iwami: …One of the two is aware.
master: It's the beginning of the end, huh?
iwami: I’m not the one who'll start the end. I told you, I’m already out of time.
master: Then, who will?
iwami: It's the prince's role to wake the sleeping princess, isn't it? Though all of them are just thugs, not princes.

-starless balcony-
lico: Sigh. Maybe I should quit smoking. Actually maybe I should just quit this store… Guess that's not possible though…
-sound of someone landing-
lico: W-what was that? Something moved above me?
-master appears behind lico-
lico: Uwah! W-w-who on earth are you!?
master: …Excuse me. I wasn't expecting someone to be out here.
lico: You're standing on my cigarettes!
master: I apologise for ruining your cigarettes as well. I would appreciate it if you acted as though you never saw me.
lico: Huh? W-what is even going on here?
master: I shall reward you, so please. I don't want to have to resort to violence in a place like this.
-master disappears quickly-
-aogiri steps out onto the balcony-
lico: Uwah! Not again!
aogiri: Oh, Lico, it was you out here, was it? Someone else was with you, right? Where did they go?
lico: Yeah they ruined my smoke break. He’s already gone, who was that anyway?
aogiri: A suspicious person. They were trespassing so I came to chase them out.
lico: By yourself? Isn't that dangerous?
aogiri: I deduced that I would be able to handle it, was I wrong?
lico: Huh? I have no idea, but we have a show going on at the moment so behave yourself, alright?
aogiri: Yes, understood. At any rate, they aren't here anymore. I’ll head back inside then, good luck with your show today.
-aogiri leaves-
lico: Him too, what the heck is up with that guy?
-master reappears-
master: I wasn't expecting him to turn a blind eye.
lico: Uwa-gh— (master covers his mouth)
master: Quiet. If you make a fuss then that show will be the least of your worries.
lico: …I get it already. I’d rather not get caught up in anything annoying anyway.
-master goes to leave-
lico: Jeez, I’m so over this shit. I want to quit this store already. All the owner and Kei do is attract violence.
master: Why not quit then? You’ll be safe that way.
lico: I have a debt to repay to the owner so I can't!
master: Then pay it back. Otherwise you could run and seek help from a public agency.
lico: It's not an amount that I can pay off that easily. And who knows what he’ll do to me if I try to run.
master: But if you remain here then you'll get caught up in this violence that you detest so much.
lico: I seriously don't want to be a part of it, things had been going just fine until now too.
master: That man who appeared before, do you understand why he left?
lico: You mean Aogiri?
master: If I were on my own he could have managed, however with you here as well it would've become too much work. So he left.
lico: Work? What kind of work?
master: I’ll leave that to your imagination. It would be quite the commotion if a cast member were to suddenly disappear right before his show, no?
lico: Disappear? You don't mean…
master: It was simply an example. It probably won't come to pass. Well then, I shall leave now. I will make sure to repay you.
-master leaves-
lico: Ah, hey, wait! Was he being serious just now? Is Aogiri really capable of something like that? …… As if I would know. Do whatever you want just don't get me involved please.

hinata: Woah you really showed up.
zakuro: Oh my, that face. You look as though you weren't expecting me to meet with you.
hinata: My brother trusted you would come but I wasn't so sure.
zakuro: Now then, here is the item that you requested. The disc that was mentioned in Iwami-san’s note.
zakuro: However before I hand it over to you, let's discuss. This is an important matter after all.
hinata: Are you trying to ask how Iwa-san knew that you had that disc?
zakuro: No, what I want to ask is why you need this disc. The one who created this disc and left it behind at the old Starless building was likely Iwami-san.
Another thing I don't understand is why Iwami-san himself wants it. Can he not just create another?
hinata: Iwa-san said he can't make them anymore. He said it's a problem of environment and lack of materials.
zakuro: Environment and lack of materials. I see, there must be some reason for that. Indeed, indeed. Circumstances have changed and quite some time has passed, it's true.
hinata: Iwa-san is only familiar with the first research stage. That's something that only happened at the first research lab.
zakuro: Hm, if you're going to talk about that I’d be careful. Is this why you chose a crowded place to speak with me?
hinata: Yeah. Not a single person passing by is interested in us, right? It's as if you and I can't afford to be paying attention to anything else…
My brother told me that we don't have much time left. You don't have any time left either, do you? We're the same.
zakuro: The same? You and I? Iwami-san said something similar to me. That we do not have much time left.
hinata: Iwa-san is different from us though. You should know that. I mean, we're of the same class, aren't we? You’re an early development line from the second stage of research.
zakuro: ……
hinata: Everyone at the lab said that it was a successful line that had been started up twice.
-hinata snatches the disc from zakuro-
hinata: I’ll be taking this disc. Iwa-san and my brother both told me that if I have this I might last longer.
zakuro: When you said that we're of the same class, does that mean that you also escaped from the research laboratory?
hinata: Yeah. The final development line of stage two, that was us twins. We were both failures, apparently the research hit a dead end. So, that's why we ran away before we died. You did the same, right?
zakuro: …Very well, I will let you have that disc. I’ll see you again at Starless tomorrow. Good night, Hinata.
hinata: See ya, Zakuro.
-hinata leaves-
zakuro: At the very least, I hope that tomorrow comes… As there is not much else I can do besides wish for that.

kei: Saki, do you have a moment? I’d like to assign Gui to your side today.
saki: Huh? How come?
kei: I apologise for the inconvenience, though it shall only be for today. Things should be settled by tomorrow.
heath: Isn't that too vague of an answer?
kei: Heath, you–
heath: Let's go, Saki. You don't have to listen to him.
saki: Ah, Heath-san. Wait a moment!
-heath takes her hand and runs off-
kei: Wait, Heath!
-hinata appears-
hinata: Kei! Can I speak with you for a minute?
kei: Later.
hinata: What? Can't it be now? My brother told me to tell you the message I have from Iwa-san.
kei: I see, so he’s gotten back to me?
-behind starless, day-

heath: Sorry for pulling you along. He just really pisses me off. He always does whatever he wants and treats you so selfishly. And– And I just can't stand seeing that. I don't trust him. But, sorry, I just did the same thing and selfishly ran off with you.
saki: You don't trust Kei-san?
heath: I don't, not one bit. He never should’ve gotten himself involved in all this. He still can't protect you properly and he keeps so many secrets. And then he wears a forlorn expression like he's shoulding the entire burden himself. It seriously pisses me off.
saki: (What is he talking about?)

kei: Pardon? What does that mean?
hinata: I have no idea, why would I know?
kei: That's true, you don't know a thing. That is your sin and the punishment that you imposed upon yourself.
hinata: Hey, I don't know what you're talking about but don't go making assumptions about me.
kei: You were right in conveying that message to me now, however the timing is most unfortunate. That is all I have to say, you should go and prepare for your show now.
hinata: Acting as high and mighty as ever.
kei: I am grateful for the information. Though I do not understand the intentions behind it, it is valuable to know.

kei: What is the state of my own background? And how deeply are you acquainted with your own? That is the question here.
aogiri: I honestly don't know that much.
kei: Is that so? Then, I shall believe that for now. I’ll leave the hall preparations to you. I must attend to something else.
aogiri: Understood. I’ll get the store ready for opening then. Oh, by the way, I saw a group of strange guys hanging around the back entrance to the store. Kasumi, Mokuren and a few members from B took notice of them. Should I go and help them instead?

-time pass, starless backrooms-

rindou: It's because public safety has gotten worse around here, right? I heard something about that recently.
mokuren: I preferred when we didn't have to worry about things like this happening.
rindou: We’ve changed along with Starless in a lot of ways.
mokuren: True. Even you acted rashly and started wearing a white costume.
rindou: Says the one who danced by themselves for your show's closing night. …That part of us hasn't changed. What we’re aiming for isn't here.
mokuren: Do you even know where you're aiming for?
rindou: I do. I know the true place that I want to be. However, I don't know how to achieve it.
mokuren: And that's why you donned a white costume and acted so recklessly? You understand that you're not doing a good job of blending in, right?
rindou: So you thought that too?
mokuren: Everyone's that way, aren't they? You can't blend into what others want. I’m the same, my dance is my own. Always has been since the start. That's why I danced on my own for the closing show of ‘silly and absurd’. That was simply–
mokuren & rindou: The only thing that I could do.
rindou: …We both made the same mistake, huh?
mokuren: Yeah. What I did for that closing show isn't what Saki wanted. I wanted her to watch my dancing until the very end of that selfish performance.
rindou: She’s always there supporting us with her kind gaze, isn't she? That's why I want to do whatever I can to repay her while she's going through tough times like this.

lico: Let me check the call history then.
hinata: Give it back! Give me my phone back!
hari: Lico, you're going too far. You shouldn't mess with other people's phones.
lico: But this kid’s talking about us while pretending to be on the phone. It's a dirty prank to pull.
nekome: Hey now Lico, calm down.
hinata: I really was on the phone…
lico: I encountered plenty of people like you back in my host days. I wouldn't care if you were just doing it for attention but pretending to be on the phone to make snide remarks? I can't stand it.
hinata: I told you I wasn't doing that! I just wanted to tell my brother that I think you're cool, Lico!
hari: Either way, there's no need to yell so loudly. Nekome, you handle this.
nekome: Sure thing.

lico: You sure don't look ok. Should I call an ambulance?
hinata: –It’s ok, there's no need for that. Have her sit down over here. You had a dizzy spell, right?
saki: Yes…
hinata: Gently hold both hands to your chest and feel your own heartbeat. Steady your breathing just like that.
nekome: Are you sure she's ok?
hari: It seems that she's calmed down.
hinata: Lico, could you pass me that water bottle?
lico: Huh? Oh, sure.
hinata: Miss Saki, try drinking some water. Careful, you can take your time.
saki: (I feel a bit better now…)
hinata: See, you're fine. Next time you feel dizzy, press your hands to your chest again. Make sure your heart doesn't jump out of it, ok?
-hinata steps back-
hinata: Hari, can you pick up the phone at your feet for me?
hari: Of course, here you go.
hinata: Thank you.
hari: You too, thank you for calming her down.
hinata: You're most welcome. Just keep sitting there for a little while longer, Miss Saki. Be careful, everyone. Iwami-san told me that there isn't much time left for Miss Saki either. I’ll be going then, sorry for all the fuss.
-hinata leaves-

menou: I’ll help out too then~
maica: You sure are carefree, aren't you in the middle of a team versus? Shouldn't you be rehearsing?
ran: Hmm, I haven't thought about it that seriously. Like I kinda just got dragged into this~ It's borin’ if nothin’ happens anyways.
maica: This isn't interesting nor boring though?
ran: Nah it's totally borin’.
kongou: I don't know what to do either. I can't settle down unless my hands are moving.
menou: I think I get what you're saying. You could imagine this outcome, so it's boring.
ran: Yeah! That's it! There's nothing but ruin from here on out. Oh no, the corn escaped! I can't return this piece so I’ll eat it.
maica: Try not to ruin things, cause it's not fun.
ran: Speaking from experience are ya~? That's heavy~ Hahah.
kongou: I’m impressed you put on two more shows after that versus you did with Rindou in his white stage costume. You did Christmas and then that show with new outfits. I’m guessing things have settled down a little for P now?
menou: Yeah. Lunisnow was pretty fitting for us I suppose. What do you think, Maica? Do you think all of that was because we gave up?
ran: Ahahaha what a crazy question~ Ya don’t hold back, Menou.
maica: Did you give up?
menou: I don't know. But I know that I’m aiming for a different sort of show than Rindou.
maica: And yet we’re still able to create a show together. We just haven't found a way to manage things yet.
menou: Once we find it things might change again.
kongou: I’m amazed that after having such a falling out you all still trust each other.
ran: Maica and Menou are both built tough.
kongou: I’m a little jealous. What do you think would happen in our case?
ran: Hmm, I got no idea. But our team works a lot differently than theirs. It's not like Mizuki is workin’ towards any kinda end goal for our shows. Heath is the one who does that.
kongou: I guess you're right. B is built around Heath’s songs after all.
menou: But Mizuki is still the one who controls your shows, isn't he?
kongou: That's true… I guess in terms of power he's our manager.
maica: Does that make Ran the charmer?
ran: Yes! I’m the cutie pie and Kongou’s Mr. Indecisive.
maica: Not the kind one?
-phone noise-
kongou: Oh, sorry, that's me. It's a message from the owner. A delivery is coming so I’ve gotta go pick it up for him. Sorry, but could I leave the pureeing of the corn to you guys?

kongou: I just need to grab the package and drop it off to the owner, so I’ll be right back.

maica: How come he asked Kongou to do that for him? Shouldn't it be Unei?
ran: Lately the old man’s turned Kongou into his subordinate for some reason.
menou: Huh? But isn't his subordinate Takami?

haseyama: Good grief, this isn't going smoothly at all.
takami: Is something the matter? You're connected to the Black Card network, yes?
haseyama: Yeah yeah, that. Guess I can talk to you about it. You know about the unspoken rule around here to not lay a hand on the young lady, right? I was managing a balance between all kinds of different factions, we had an agreement.
takami: I’d heard that was the case, however in reality can you really achieve something like that?
haseyama: That's where this network known as Black Card comes in. Only selected people can get in, the network requires an exclusive app and access card.
takami: So it's basically a dark net?
haseyama: And on there people can make posts reporting people who’ve broken the agreement.
takami: I see. Then what happens to the people who have been reported?
haseyama: Seems like some other outside faction punishes them. I don't really know the details. My role is simply to maintain the balance, it would be too dangerous to get involved any further than this.
takami: And so, what did you mean when you said it's not going smoothly?
haseyama: There's some kind of issue with posting messages at the moment. It's not working for me. If people can't post reports then the rule breakers won't be punished. And if they're not punished then there's basically no point to the agreement… In short, the young lady might be put in danger.
takami: Well that's not good.
haseyama: My own position will become uncertain too. I really need her to stay at this store.
takami: How come you're ensuring Saki-san’s safety though?
haseyama: Isn't that obvious? It's because I’m a gentleman.
takami: I see, you sure are.
haseyama: …Tch. Call Kongou over, I have an errand for him.
takami: Can I not go in his place? Kongou has a show today.
haseyama: It's fine, I want Kondou to do it. So go call him over already.
takami: …Understood.

kongou: Yeah, that's why I’m going to head there and then come straight back. The place isn't too far away but…

saki: Sinju-san, Heath-san… Thank you so much.
heath: Are you ok? He scared you, right?
sinju: Hey, how about we stop by the convenience store? Let's buy you a warm drink.
heath: Good idea.
-time pass, convenience store-
sinju: Here you go, Saki-chan, this drink’s for you.
saki: Thank you…
sinju: And this one's for you, Heath.
heath: Sorry, I’ll pay you back.
sinju: Don't worry about it, it's my treat. Take it as a thank you for running to help Saki-chan. Heath was actually the one who noticed you were in trouble, he sprinted into action immediately.
heath: It's cause that guy had a suspicious colour. You were the one who got him to back off though, Sinju.
saki: I see, so that's what happened. Thank you both.
sinju: I guess rather than a thank you this drink is more like a reward? Because Heath was around, nothing bad happened.
heath: What kind of reasoning is that? Well, I guess that's just how you are, Sinju. You're always looking on the bright side, it's like you're your own power generator.
sinju: Huh? What do you mean?
saki: Fufu, I think I get what Heath-san means. Sinju-san is always looking on the bright side and you focus on the good in people. You trust others which makes you easy to trust in return.
sinju: Ahaha, you're gonna make me blush. I just believe the first thing that people tell me, that's all. I think I might be a little too trusting honestly… Heath on the other hand never wavers on his beliefs. You’ve always been strong like that from the start.
heath: Yeah, I guess. That's because I won't waver on who I am. In order to stay myself, I won't bend. My beliefs, my lyrics, my stage, no matter what anyone says I won't change them.
However, because of that it's inevitable that I’ll run into people who disagree, and we’ll fight. Like what’s happening with my team right now, and what's happened in the past as well.
We even fought with you right at the beginning, we stagejacked you with ‘Nisshoku’. And despite that, you still accepted us as Team B. Why? No one would blame you for getting angry and rejecting us, you were blindsided and betrayed after all.
saki: (Heath-san…)
sinju: Huh? That happened so long ago now, it's already in the past. I think that B are a great team, that's what I’ve always thought.
Back then too, I figured that stagejacking us was necessary for you guys. And I think what's happening now is necessary too, even though you may be at odds with each other. Well, that's just my opinion at least, what do you think, Saki-chan? Did I say too much, maybe?
saki: I don't think you said too much. Being able to speak your mind so honestly is one of your strengths, Sinju-san.
heath: She's right… It's a strength different from mine.
sinju: You think so? Eheheh, well thanks Saki-chan. And you too, Heath.
heath: Yeah, thank you both too.
sinju: I want to start believing in the stage that I want to protect as well.
heath: Go ahead, I’m sure you can do it.

mizuki: That's got nothing to do with it.
sinju: I think you guessed right, Hari. How did you know?
hari: Just a hunch. Sometimes I guess right.
mizuki: Shut up.
hari: And that's why I think you're in this situation. Even at a time like this you still won't listen to other people. You make arbitrary decisions without consulting with your team first because you cannot handle your ideas being rejected. You simply don't want your ego to get hurt.
sinju: (shocked speechless)
mizuki: You bastard…!

gui: Hari was the one who started the fight?
mizuki: Yeah, he was!
hari: Perhaps.
sinju: So you were aware of it yourself?
hari: I know I’m commenting on another team's business, I’m aware that it has nothing to do with me. However from an outsider’s perspective, to me it looks as though no one in B wished for this show to happen. Plus, I believe the opposite situation happened for C.
mizuki: What do you mean by opposite?
hari: I mean that we perhaps should have tried to communicate better with Mokuren. Even though Mokuren is looking out for the team's future in their own way.
sinju: …That may be true for P as well.
mizuki: Nah, in P’s case it's just Rindou’s fault. He just does whatever he wants, he's always been a selfish bastard.
hari: You think Rindou is selfish…?
gui: Mizuki has always said that.
mizuki: He hasn't changed one bit, he's always been selfish.
sinju: I think Rindou is just asserting himself and his beliefs. And I don't think there's anything wrong with that.
hari: What? You're ok with it?
sinju: I decided that I want to protect the stage that I believe in. And if that ends up overlapping with the kind of stage that Rindou is aiming for, everything will be fine.

master: Takami. How is the situation on your end?
takami: My superiors have been complaining that the situation has been progressing much quicker than expected. Public safety really has gotten especially bad around this area. My people are having a hard time dealing with it. There's a lot of them and from all sorts of different groups too, it's utter chaos. The higher ups of the organisations in cahoots with the institution are deploying all of their lower ranked branches.
master: The organisations in cahoots with the institution, you say. From those words it would sound like any other business partnership. When in reality it's just yakuza and other criminal organisations who are teaming up with the institution for their own gain.
takami: There are even some groups involved that we’re not sure what their aim would be… Even though we hadn't been able to see the institution's movements for six years, it’s become this much of a mess.
master: That's exactly why our parties have joined forces. If things do not proceed forwards we’ll be in trouble.
takami: Above all we cannot allow any actual harm to happen to the citizens, that is our top priority.
master: I have also received confirmation that your people are tracking our movements. Please tell them not to interfere with us.
takami: You're talking about Black Card, yes? You’ve been manipulating the information that's circulating through Black Card so that the institution and their partners aren't able to cooperate. We will not interfere with you, however please allow us to learn from your movements. However, had been under the impression that Black Card was a dark network created by the institution. If you're able to manipulate it this easily though I’ll need to look further into the network’s origins.
master: It doesn't matter who created it anymore as it's now an uncontrolled network being used by the underworld. So proceed with caution, as even the access cards can be forged. The institution and its partners, the organisation that I belong to and you and your team… Any form of access will leave a trace in the system.
takami: That is exactly why we’ve left you in charge of manipulating the information while we are in charge of the ground work.
master: So I can leave the one that's inside Starless to you then?

mizuki: Shut– …Yes, I want B to perform next.

haseyama: That's a pretty vague answer. Pick one, B or C.
mokuren: She doesn't have to, I’ll hand our scheduled spot over to B. You guys can perform the next show, Mizuki.
mizuki: Huh? For real!?
mokuren: I want to please Princess, plus, what you said is true. While P’s 'Luminous Snow’ was performed again due to them winning the song vote, it did mean that B had to be skipped. Team C has also gone through a period where we didn't perform many shows, so I understand where you're coming from.
mizuki: Hell yeah! You get it, Mokuren. Thank you! Saki this is all thanks to you, so thanks!

unei: Um, are you sure this is ok? Leaving the next show to Team B I mean.

unei: I’d heard that the reason Team B were holding back from performing is because that's what the cast member's requested. Kei-san said he would keep an eye on them…
