To say he was nervous was the understatement of the century. It was their first date. Their first date was going to be at an amusement park, he was fine with it because he loved rides that spun a lot and knew that she knew he was scared of heights, and yet, if she asked to get on a tall ride he would do it for her.
Then he saw her as he finally reached the amusement park itself. She was so beautiful and that light hit her just right, making her look like the sun itself for a moment, so bright and beautiful and powerful all in that one moment.
He licked his lips and then swallowed that nervous lump in his through, cheeks already flushed red just from seeing her. Butterflies were in his stomach and excitement was flooding through his being, an interesting combo because it left him feeling jittery.
“Ai!” He called to her after she called to him, bright smile quickly plastering itself onto his face as she moved to meat him half way. He would’ve come to her but it was Aimi, she was always the meet me halfway type of girl.
He let her put the bracelet on him and eyed it curiously for a moment. Unlimited bracelets were the best of the best to have at crowded amusement parks. This made things easier. Today was going to be amazing, he could already tell. Then her hand was in his and her fingers intertwined with his own. His cheeks only got redder but he smiled bright at her once again, then gave her hand a soft squeeze.
“I see that! This makes things a lot easier. Wah, I’m excited, aren’t you?” He asked curiously, chocolate eyes scanning over her face, taking in her beauty as he did every time he saw her.
“What do you want to ride first?” The Queen should always choose first.
She was so excited she was shocked she had burst from it. Sleep hadn’t come easy the night before; Papa had laughed while he made her some warm milk. It was a comfort, knowing Papa approved; his approval meant the world to Aimi. Besides, he had thought they were already dating and was shocked when she told him that they were now.
Guess everyone saw it but them. Go figure.
“ This is gonna be fun! ” His own smile took her breath away and it took her a moment to gain it back. He always did that to do, though. It was so easy for him to melt her that it was almost unreal. But she wouldn’t trade it in for anything in the world. How he made her feel was something she never wanted to let go of.
Gently, she tugged on his hand so they were walking side by side. There were so many rides to choose from - but the actual roller coasters or anything high was off limits. Papa wasn’t a fan of heights either so she never really rode those, anyways.
“ How about the Carousel? Then we can ride those spin rides. ” She adored the Carousel, in all honestly. It was the first ride she remembered riding as a kid - plus, she liked the horse one. But maybe they could sit together, side by side and just enjoy it.
A blush came to her face as she thought about it.
They had the time to ride all the rides, so there was no hurry for her. No reason to jump from ride to ride. They could take time, even play games in between. But there was something she really didn’t want to miss out on.
Luckily, it was later - near closing time.
“ Later on there’s going to be a magic show. Wanna go? ”
