Dance like nobody’s watching…
So our little dancer is camera shy so we had to pull a secret covert mission to catch her in action when we found her in the backyard doing these crazy dance moves like she was in an Ariana Grande dance video…
She even slips in a few “whips” as if the head bops from side to side weren’t enough.
Oh Boy! Maybe it’s time for the girls to stop watching Kidz Bop Kids music videos…

Way over due but finally getting around to posting a video from our vacation.
That Feeling Didn’t Last Too Long...
So it was my first day back to work and all I wanted to do was be back at home with my girls. I know what you're thinking, "You must be nuts!!!". And I must have been because they absolutely drove me up the wall and yes I wanted to blow my brains out every second of the day but for some strange reason I missed them. I mean I really, really missed them.
It didn't help that Zoya was like "Daddy please don't go to work, stay with us". Just heartbreaking and that's all that rang threw my head on my first day back.
But by the afternoon things started to get better and by the time I came home to the crying rug rats it quickly jogged my memory on the pain and suffering I endured during my stay at home.
By the second day I was almost back to my normal self and by the third day I had full recovered and was actually dreading coming home to the little monsters.
So it’s safe to say that feeling I felt on Monday morning had completely disappeared!
“I’m so sorry girls but no I don’t miss the crying, screaming, yelling, clinging and crazy tantrums...”
Ok, so I’ve heard mothers complain about mush brain after being home with the kids for too long, but after only 7 weeks, like seriously!
“Sorry, I know we’ve worked together for the past 2 year and you sit literally two rows over but what was your name again?”

Week 6 - Day 5: The End of The Road...
So we've come to the end of my 6 week run at home with the kids and boy was it a wild ride!
As you've probably noticed I haven't had a chance to blog in a while, mostly because most of my free time has been occupied by the Blue Jays run for the pennant!
So all said and done, the time at home with the girls has been really nice, but I think I'm definitely ready to go back to work. Don't get me wrong, I'm going to miss the little monsters but I'm sure that feeling will pass very quickly when the kids are driving my up the wall after a long day at work....lol!
The good news is, we'll be going on vacation next week before I head back, so that should be some what of a break! But, honestly with Arya's teething I'm starting to highly doubt that!
Stay tuned for the upcoming adventure... I just hope the kids let the plane take-off!
This totally reminded me of Arya in need of her pacifier…Well, besides the fact that she is a bit cuter than the Smeagol, no?…lol!
Week 5 - Day 3: Let's Go For A Drive?
Ok so we’re heading out to get a pumpkin… Fun right?!!! Only this time, we’re heading north and when I say north I mean we’re heading up to the boonies!
So the wife says it’s just a bit north, so I’m like cool but really I’m thinking “Don’t they sell pumpkins at Fortinos?”.
Anyways, one thing I’ve learned after 8 years of marriage is to “just go with it” because as men we will never win the battle, nor will we ever understand why women make everything so darn complicated!
Like, why did we have to change the kids clothes to go out and get a pumpkin? Are kids no longer allowed out in their joggers, or is that just not cool anymore?! In my opinion, a simple errand like going to get a pumpkin shouldn’t be mission impossible, or should it?
Well either way, I’m keeping my cool and I was just glad we made it out of the house before the nightfall. And in case you forgot we’re just going to get a pumpkin but we couldn't forget to change the kids clothes, pack the snacks, milk, more snacks and a change of clothes. If I didn’t know better, I’d think we were going camping!
So we finally hit the road and we're driving… driving… driving… driving… driving… With the wife periodically making comments like “it’s just up ahead”, shouldn’t be much further, just north of here….“.
I could already tell she was on egg shells because she knew my silence meant I was totally going to lose my cool if we didn’t reach this pumpkin paradise very, very soon.
Well, after over 30 minutes of driving we hit a road closure. Yes, I said 30 minutes of driving and if you still remember, we’re just going to get a freakin’ pumpkin!!!!
At this point the wife is like "You know what, we can just turn back…”.
But no. I’m surprisingly still keeping my cool, probably because now I felt a little bad for the poor girl who dragged her whole family out to Timbuktu to get a pumpkin and I say “No let’s just go”. But what I really felt like saying was “They do sell pumpkins at Fortinos you know?”
But I didn’t feel like starting an argument in front of the kids who I forgot to mention are growing extremely restless in the back to the point I was contemplating pulling over to give their legs a stretch.
So now with the road closure, we’re forced to travel down dirt side roads and gravel filled concession roads just to reach this place. Everyone is on edge, cranky and I’m just glad the sun was still out but can’t help thinking about the lineup of pumpkins available at our local Fortinos.
Ok, after an hour of driving….Yes a freakin’ hour of driving to go get a pumpkin we had finally arrived! I didn’t even have to look but could tell my wife had an ear-to-ear smile on her face.
And then she says “Oh look, only $10 for that huge pumpkin”. At that point I felt like saying “and how about the half tank of gas we just blew driving for the past hour!!!!" Plus, I could have sworn I seen the same pumpkins at Fortinos for $5.
At the end of the day the kids did have a blast picking pumpkins but it was a very exhausting trip and I’m just glad we made it back home alive. The sun had set on our way back and driving through those side roads in the dark reminded me of a scene out of ”Friday the 13th!“
P.S. Thanks Amanda for mentioning this place to my wife but I guess it didn’t really help that my wife thought North of Hwy 9 meant North of King…lol!

So many pumpkins!!!
Week 5 - Day 2: Ok, so not exactly the “Cake Boss” but it did turn out pretty good, even after forgettng to oil the pan!
Week 4 - Day 5: The Last Dance - TGIF
So today I decided we would go out for one last outing before taking a break for a couple of weeks. Taking the little ones out everyday is super exhausting so for the next couple of weeks we will lay low and do activities around the house.
We ended up going to Fantasy Fair which was great and the kids really loved it. I think we rode the merry-go-round at least half a dozen times!
However, the day didn’t pass without it’s challenges, actually too many to go into detail about! Baby in toilet, wet pants, a broken phone and the big fall…Ouch!
So yes, Zoya fell into the public toilet which then led to a domino effect of other negative events… Like, Arya crawling around on the washroom floor, my phone breaking trying to pick-up both kids and then having Arya flip out and bang her head. So needless to say we headed home after this as I wanted to monitor Arya to make sure her injuries weren’t serious, but also because the kids were covered in germs so it was definitely bubble bath and nap time!
I’m just glad the day has come to an end and even happier that it’s FRIDAY!

Week 4 - Day 4: Where Am I?
So we’re at Yorkdale mall doing a little shopping, when the little one asks to use the washroom. Usually I’m dragging the double stroller and both kids into the regular washrooms but today the family room sign caught my attention so I thought to myself “hey why not!”
So I’m pressing the button which is supposed to open the door but nothing’s happening, then I tried pulling on the handle but the door seemed to be locked. I guess this meant it was occupied, so I decided to wait thinking someone would eventually come out.
So I'm waiting, and waiting, and waiting, like what are these people doing in there?!!!! Then finally the door opens…Yay!!!
So after waiting for the women to exit with their stroller I walked into the……….. FAMILY ROOM?! Seriously now, where was I? I was expecting your regular cube sized family washroom.
Wow! Talk about accommodations! I was standing in a large spacious room with about 5-6 extra wide chairs, sofas, change area with sink, a microwave, small kids play area and private washrooms.. Are you kidding me? If I knew this place existed I’d just hang out here on the weekends while the wife did her shopping! “Now where is that TV?”
So after I finished observing the amenities I finally noticed all the NURSING women… Talk about AWKWARD. I mean, I could totally tell they felt uncomfortable shuffling around making sure nothing was showing or about to pop out!
Ok, now I was feeling kind of awkward myself. Like was I accidently gawking at them while fantasizing about making myself comfortable on one of those Lazy Boy recliners?
I felt like saying, “No, No, No ladies, I wasn’t staring at you! Really, I was just observing the amenities! I’m one of you, can’t you see the two little ones with me? Trust me, I’m harmless!!!“
But in the hopes of avoiding anymore awkwardness, I instead rushed myself into the nearest family washroom located at the end of the room.
So after finishing up I quickly scooted out, making sure not to come into eye contact with anyone! I already felt extra weird and didn’t want to seem like a total creeper!
So as I’m walking out I’m thinking to myself “this is really strange, were men even allowed in here?“ Because it really seemed like a nursing station more than anything!
Then as I’m stepping out I gave the sign outside the door a closer look! Oh, no! Where was the male stick figure?!!! Was this room even intended for men to use or was it restricted to women ONLY?!
Well I wasn’t going to wait around to find out, so I made a run for it in the hopes that no one noticed! I swear, if someone was timing me I would have clocked in at record time for the 100 metre dash with 2 kids and a double stroller!
Now the $64 million dollar question still remained unanswered, so I called Yorkdale Guest Services when I got home.
The answer: ”Yes sir, that area is our nursing/family room restricted to families with young children. Because women are normally nursing, men do tend to wait outside. However, men are ABSOLUTELY allowed when caring for their children.“
What a relief!!! For a second there I thought I was going to make the 6 o'clock news!
