"Ahh!!"
The shock of searing hot coffee dousing the young empress elicited a loud shriek from her. The coffee stain on her dress was the least of her concerns as a burning sensation permeated near her abdomen region. She hoped she would be fortunate enough to walk away from this situation without suffering a burn, but regardless the pain would likely stay with her for a while.
"How loathsome…! Do the people of this city have no common decency?! Watch where you’re going!"
Her words were not directed at Togami but at the man fleeing the scene she had witnessed bump into him. Just when she was beginning to warm up to the lively atmosphere of the city, the citizens had to go and act like barbarians. It made her regret comparing Hive City to Alcamoth earlier. It’s true that despite their angelic appearance not everyone in Alcamoth was a saint, but at least they were civil. Although, that might be her own bias shining through.
In the middle of her little spat, she noticed the young blonde man who had been knocked into lamenting over the lose of his little pick-me-up. This in itself was understandable, but it was certainly not a suitable response after spilling a piping beverage on someone.
"Sir, I understand you are a victim of circumstance such as myself, but have you nothing to say to me after nearly burning my stomach?" she said, her tone nearly as scathing as the coffee.
Amidst the commotion, it had not struck Togami that his piping hot beverage had not landed in a puddle on the sidewalk, but on the dress of an unfortunate passerby. Now, however, with the woman's fiery words, his spilled coffee had become the new focus. Togami stared at her, almost indignantly. What was there to say? What could be said to absolve himself from blame?
"...Frankly, I'm more concerned with the coffee. You were in the wrong place at the wrong time. That's not my problem."
"It's really not that difficult to get coffee stains out of clothes."
Togami had no need to apologize for events that were out of his control. As long as the only harm done was a stained dress and a wasted order of coffee, there was nothing more that needed to be resolved. The heir could at least have the decency to wait and let her address more of her concerns, but if there was nothing he could do about them, he was already preparing to get on with his day.
