Uh- Do I know? [He thinks for a second and wonders what they're supposed to do in P.E. he's clueless.] Sorry. Don't know. [Ryouga looks at the wall and sees a sheet of paper attached to it.] Hang on a sec. [He walks over to the paper and reads what's on it.] "Indoor... Basketball"?

[Ryouga's region had little to no sports. Frankly, they were so far out from any region, their games were usually stickball and tag. Ryouga scratches his head and walks back over to May, puzzled.] What's an "Indoor Basketball"?

Morning.

[We find Ryouga, showered and asleep in bed after a night of vigorously working out in the weight room. Hours pass, then the sun begins to rise, and his alarm clock begins to ring at 9:00 AM. His face scrunches as he pulls the covers over his face. After about 5 seconds, Ryouga grabs the alarm clock, and turns it off under the covers. He sits up, shirtless, and he yawns heavily, ready to start his day.

He begins going through his daily routine, which includes brushing his teeth, washing his face, and putting on his casual clothes from back home. His stomach grumbled, needing food, so he decided to go to the cafeteria to have breakfast. Ryouga exits his dorm, still yawning, walking towards the cafeteria.]

[Ryouga was hanging around the courtyard, taking in the fresh air, until it grew dark from the grey clouds above him. They grew darker, and thunder began to roll. It was seconds until it began to rain pretty hard.]

Aw, jeez!

[Ryouga ran inside before the rain had soaked him. He sighed in relief that it didn't soak his uniform. It cost a lot!!] He began to walk towards the dorms when he slipped, fell, and landed on his butt.]

WOAH! Aw, man!

[He looked up and saw a red-haired girl in front of him. Huh? Did I slip and fall in front of her?]

Oh, uh, sorry about that!

[Ah yes, time for P.E. class… It was beyond her why the dress code was a pair of really short shorts and a tshirt. It was a little annoying, but May honestly didn’t mind too much. After changing into her P.E. outfit, she went into the gym to wait for the others. The guys were all standing around her in wait of the girls, who always took a while with their hair and stuff. May just needed to put her hair in a pony tail, and it took around two seconds.]

[She stretched the hairband around her wrist before pulling back her hair. Class should have started right now but apparently they were still waiting on a few people. Peering up at the clock on the wall, suddenly, she was crashed into and falls right on her face.]

Ow ow ow…. [May rubs her face and sighs with a smile] It’s okay.. Ah, I guess I just didn’t see you coming!

… [tilts her head] Wait, are you in this class too?

Ah, jeez... [He holds out a hand to help her up.] You all right? I didn't bang you up too hard, did I?

Huh? Yeah, I'm in this class! Hi! Name's Ryouga! Nice to meet ya! [He grins widely at the brunette.] What's your name?

Workout room? Really? [He finishes off his food, and stands up. He is quite interested. This might make him stronger!] Show me the way!

Alright! Heheh. [Putting his cleaned off tray with the rest of the trays, he quickly leads Ryouga out of the cafeteria and rushes off down the halls] It’s over this way! [He skids to a stop in front of a door. The room looks dark inside. Ash slinks in and flips on the lights, signaling Ryouga to come in.] Well, whaddya think? Pretty big, right? Dia and I come here to practice for when next year’s football tryouts come around.

[Ryouga walks in after Ash, and looks around.] Wow! It's perfect! There's so much stuff in here! I could be in here for hours! [He goes over and examines the equipment, picking up a small, 20lbs barbell.] Yep! Perfect! Thanks, Ash!!

bookbagandbikeshorts started following you [Ryouga, running late, was rushing to the gym, dashing to the boys' locker room, he changes into his P.E. uniform, and runs in the gymnasium. He accidentally bumps into a girl in front of him, loses control, and falls over.]

Ow... that hurt. [He gets up, shakes it off, and looks to the girl he bumped into.] Aw, jeez. I'm sorry about that. I was running late. [He grins embarassingly.]

[Ryouga begins eating his food quickly.] Hm? Oh, I know my claffes, fo I wouldn’t worry about fhat. [He gets his food down and speaks normally.] Ah- Unless there are other places you’d wanna show me. [He grins.]

Well, you wanna be the strongest right? There’s a great workout room and gymnasium where my buddy Dia and I always hang out, and I could show you where those are. There’s also the way to the dorms, [muttering] and I guess the maid cafe [he raises his voice again] And yeah. It’s a really big school. Even I still get lost sometimes! [He grins widely and lets out a small burp; his tray is almost factory clean.]

Arcades… He’s the strongest thing ever. He has unimaginable power. I want to train under him one day. I want to follow in my dad’s footsteps. See, a lot of years ago, my dad left to train with Arcades. I didn’t know where my dad went, so I confronted Arcades. He told me to come back when I was stronger, then he would take me to my dad and he and I would train together.

[He’s silent for a second as he sits down and pokes at his food.] Yeah, the test of intelligence. If I pass this, I’m worthy to confront Arcades. And hell yeah it ain’t hard for me! I can take on anything!!

Yeah, that’s the spirit! You’ll be able to train with your dad and Arcades in no time with an attitude like that! [A big cheesy grin and thumbs up combo. He goes back to eating stuff again.] I came here because I wanted to be the best there was! I heard this place was super good, and I begged my mom to let me come here.

So uh…do you know your way around here yet? I could give you a tour or something when you’re done eating. [He shovels more food into his mouth, emphasizing the “you’re” part.]

Ar..kay dees? Who’s that? Is there a reason you wanna train with him and your dad so much? [He lets that simmer for a second while he finds a nice good spot in the middle of the cafeteria for them to sit. He immediately begins shoveling food into his mouth.] So you haft’ takth a teft uf intewigenf huh? [Swallow] Shouldn’t be too hard for you, right?

I sure did say that! And I mean it too! You’re gonna be the strongest huh? I didn’t know the gym programs here were so well known, too! [He has a chuckle to himself while he grabs a milk and waits for Ryouga to finish getting himself food] Yeah, it kind of helps when you love eating and have a roommie that likes food, too. [A big grin from ear to ear] So uh….Ree-yoh-ga…where d’you wanna sit?

I don't mind sitting wherever you want to pick. Also, it's not really about the gym programs, see, I'm here because I have to take a test on my strength of intelligence. There's 3 tests in total, 2 of which I've already taken. If I pass this test, I can go train with my father and Arcades... [He doesn't realize that he didn't elaborate on who Arcades was.]

[Ryouga barely felt Ash bump into him, but when he heard his cry, he looked down in surprise. As he saw the boy get back up and question him, he chuckled and gave a grin.] Yeah, I’m new here! Name’s Ryouga! Say, what’s good to eat, here? Do you know? [He looks back at the menu and ponders.]

[Ash couldn’t help but grin back, and the mention of food momentarily distracted him from the formal introductions] Oh! Uh, well, those are good…and these are okay, but you should get extra gravy with them and EUGH! That stuff’s nasty it made a girl sick the other day stay away from it! And uh…oh that’s the main course. And uh yeah, that’s about it! I’m Ash Ketchum, and I’m gonna be a top student here! [He starts scooping mountains of food onto his tray]

[Ryouga blinked in surprise, and smiled!] Gee, you sure know your food! [He begins putting food on his plate, too.] Nice to meet you Ash! Did you say you were gonna be top student? My goal's to be the strongest man in the world. It's good to meet friendly people, here!

[Of course, Ash is a dimwit, so he bumps right into Ryouga without looking where he’s going] W-Waah! [He falls over onto his shota butt with a thud, and he gets uright back up, fists rarring, but then realizes he hasn’t seen the person he’d just plowed into before] Huh? Hey, you! Are you new here? I’ve never seen you around here before.

[Ryouga barely felt Ash bump into him, but when he heard his cry, he looked down in surprise. As he saw the boy get back up and question him, he chuckled and gave a grin.] Yeah, I'm new here! Name's Ryouga! Say, what's good to eat, here? Do you know? [He looks back at the menu and ponders.]

…Trading Cards? Never heard of them… They also look okay, to me… Gee. [He finishes picking them up and hands them all to Mark.] Sorry for messing up your sorting, man. So, …Monster Cards, was it? And why old ones? Doesn’t everyone usually go for the new things, anyway? [He scratches his head.]

Anyway, my name’s Ryouga. Nice to meet you. [He holds out his hand for a (VERY firm) handshake.]

No one’s heard of em around here! It sucks! Sucks like a moldy oran berry left out in the sun too long. [He adjusts the card to be right-side up before setting them in his empty side-pack. He’ll re-sort them later, he supposes.]

The name’s Mark. Same to ya, Ryouga. Can I call you Ryo? [Putting his hand for a shake with this guy, he feels like the guy could snap his hand in half any moment. A bit of sweat forms on his face before letting go.]

Well, I could probably like trading cards if I got to know how they work... Do the monsters come out of the cards?

Sure! Ryo's cool! [He lets go and gives a big grin to Mark.] So, how do I acquire these... cards?

[Ryouga set his bags down in his empty dorm, and looked around.] Gee. Kinda gloomy. No one’s here… Oh well. Can’t hurt to look around! [He exits his dorm and starts to walk around the rooms. He’s not paying much attention to what’s in front of him, and he bumps into a boy walking in front of him. Then suddenly, rectangular-shaped things go flying around. Ryouga blinks and looks at the boy in front of him.]

Ah jeez! I’m sorry, man! [He crouches down and starts picking up the cards very quickly.] Didn’t see you there. [He examines a Nidoking card.] Woah, what are these, anyway…?

[Mark was sorting a pack he only just recently opened that he had stashed away. He was almost done until someone totally rammed into him like a klutz. Wow what horrible luck.]

Oof! Hey, buddy watch where you’re going! I was almost done with these! Aww man….

[He begins picking some up, too. At least the guy was helping, right? …aaannndd by the looks of it he’s interested. A grin grows on his face as he slides the Nidoking card out of Ryouga’s hand] THESE are trading cards. One of the top pinnacles of a hobbyist.

More specifically, they’re Monster cards! Old ones at that! I had these in mint condition until today, I opened the pack up and started sorting them while walking! Well… that is until you ran into me. Now I’m back at square one.
