Any light and funny kdrama recommendations?
"You don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about,” I said through gritted teeth.
“I know,” he said. “After all, I’m just a kid who has had everything taken from him. What could I possibly understand about loss?”

the TJ Klune books experience
UNDER THE WHISPERING DOOR
So… I spent a bunch of hours thinking about how to word my thoughts after finishing this book. Firstly, I would like to say that TJ Klune’s book never fail to make me feel safe in their worlds. Reading a new book of his is like coming back home for some days before departing again
Hugo was an inspiration. Kind and patient but still so much human. Afraid to make the wrong move, guilty of crimes he didn’t commit. I admired him throughout the whole book. Words wouldn’t do him justice.
Nelson was my favourite character. I may be biased, I didn’t get to meet my grandpa and the representation of this old man in this book was how I expect my grandad do be in my mind, if he was still here with me. Nelson was like a warm but firm hand on my shoulder. I felt comforted by his presence in this story. He had been a great figure to look up for Wallace, Alan and Hugo too. I felt moved by his will to stay until he was sure Hugo was safe, never forgetting that we all have the right to want something or someone that makes us happy and whole.
Under the whispering door is emotional, comforting, harsh in the most gentle way you can think of. It can change your way of seeing the world, the ones beside you and the whole concept of death if you think about it. Before reading this book I have never thought about passing as what it actually is. Passing from this world not to the nothing, but towards another path. One way stop, then straight to what’s next.
As any other book from this author that I discovered during this summer, the world inside of it make you reflect. You start using the book as a safe place, or as a mirror to question your own life, or just as an escape you know you are welcomed into. For the first book you read, you are a stranger. With the second, you are a honoured guest and with the third you are part of the family. This is what Hugo applied to tea and I felt it was right to be applied to books.
