I’m probably going to regret bringing this up, but has this been discussed?

We know that Robert Berens wrote 9x07 which is the one (I think) with a scene with Dean and Cas discussing something in the car which probably was a sensitive topic because Jensen kept screwing around and making them do retakes (much like the crypt scene). And this is after 9x03 when Cas hooks up with a woman.

So does Berens have the romantic false lead trope on the brain? This tweet was on the first day of filming for 9x07, and we know he’s been following tweets from the set about that. Or is it more likely just a coincidence? I am seeing secret messages in writer tweets everywhere and it is not healthy haha.

The writers are deliberately shitting on a huge group of fandom. There is NO WAY they don’t know what they’re doing. Love interests have NEVER been accepted on this show and I never wanted to see Cas dirtied up by a random fuck. GROSS. I will not support a show that treats fans like that. I will...

To be honest, the fact that they're throwing a female at Cas in the first episodes, being a love interest or only a one-night stand, with all that's burdening Cas at this moment, imo is they're blatantly defining Cas as a very manly heterosexual man this soon in the game now that he's human.
