I just realized something while researching trans history-
so you know how people will misgender historical trans men by saying that they just dressed as men and "wanted to be" men (in quotes because they WERE men, you morons) because of wanting "male privilege", like thats the only reason someone would transition? and even "progressive" people will participate in this, including other queer people (albeit mostly cis ones)?
well, that's exactly like how people (i.e transphobes) say that "cis" men would "pretend to be trans women" to "gain access" to cis women. Like do you SERIOUSLY fucking think that a cis person would do that? no! that's ridiculous! you can't say that these people are cis, why would a cis person go to those lengths? (why would a cis man put that much effort in if their motive was just...to be around ciswomen? you seriously think a trans woman/MtF crossdresser would be more welcome in a group of ciswomen than a cis man?? hint: they wouldn't be.)
it's such a bad argument, because it's assuming that these supposed "trans imposters" would gain any advantage at all by trying to "disguise" themselves. as if anyone could magically look like a cis person as soon as they decide to "be trans". being cis in a situation, even if most of the other people there are of the opposite cis gender (which terfs present most often as the reason why someone would be "strategically" transgender/transvestist), is almost always easier than being trans and running the risk of "failing" to pass, being "discovered", and being attacked, assaulted, ostracized, or otherwise discriminated against (e.g being fired for having been outed as trans, which is discriminatory, yet legal in very many workplaces) as a result.
and most queer progressives KNOW that the "men have disguised themselves as women just to get this or that advantage" is peddling transphobia, so why is misgendering our ancestral trans brothers okay?
fact is, if there was a cis woman in history who wanted to work a man's job or whatever, if they were really cis they'd do it as a woman. that's what they HAVE done. that's why cis women nowadays can have jobs that were previously reserved for cis men. if he transitions, then it's not because of a thing like wanting some work opportunity or another, it's because he's a man. like, I don't think crossdressing as a solution to life's problems would even enter a cis person's mind as an appealing course of action. use your brain- if someone did that, then guess what! they probably weren't fucking cis. unless they SAID that they identified fully with their birth sex, you have no right to proclaim that they did.
TLDR stop forcing womanhood on men, you disrespectful sexist fucks (because yes, forcibly reducing someone to their bio sex just because you want them to be something they're not- cisgender- IS sexist).
