SAM
The first marriage therapy session had been today and Sam didnât really know what to think about it. The room had been nice, the therapist had been friendly, but a bit pushy - but maybe that was just her job. Rachel had done most of the talking, of course. He had tried to avoid hard questions, but well, it was only the first session and really, no one was expecting a miracle. He had answered the questions he was asked, not really elaborating much more than the âYes, No, I feelâŠâ  answers, but the therapist seemed to understand and said they had âplenty of timeâ to âlet it outâ or something. Still, he didnât know if he had done well or not. Could one do well at therapy? Was it like school where at the end of the session you received a grade, because you sure got homework.
Though, this homework was better than any he had received in high school. To eat dessert together. Seriously, that was the homework. An hour to themselves, after Logan had gone to bed where they couldnât talk about Logan and were supposed to eat dessert together or something like that.Â
Hence the reason, he was standing in the kitchen, staring in the freezer. Ice cream or Freeze-pops. Ice cream orâŠ. green freeze-pops. Green Freeze-pops or ice cream with chocolate syrup.  Heâs starting to get cold as he stands there longer, staring between the two choices. Finally, he turns to Rachel. âIce cream or freeze-pops?â
RACHEL
They hadnât talked about much of anything today at therapy. After their talk with Logan last night, things had at least been less tense and theyâd gone into therapy with their heads held high, fingers laced. And theyâd stayed that way through most of the session. The therapist never commented, but Rachel took it as a good sign. They were in this together. For better or for worse. Getting therapy didnât mean theyâd failed, it just meant that they needed help to be stronger. Get back to better.
Rachelâs cleaning up the kitchen. She wanted it to be done before dessert, so that they could just stick their bowls into the dishwasher and relax afterwards. Samâs been standing at the freezer for so long that sheâs mentally listing the recipe for a heath cake in her head. Sheâll make one tomorrow for dessert. Thatâd be nice- Wait, hm? âWe canât really spend an hour with freeze pops.â Rachel points out.
They canât really spend an hour with ice cream either, but itâd take more time for a bowl of ice cream than a freeze pop.
SAM
âRight.â He nods, before grabbing the carton of ice creamâŠand a freeze pop - they were really good, alright? He sets down the ice cream on the counter as he shuts the freezer. Itâs vanilla, nothing too snazzy, but he knows that in the fridge thereâs chocolate and strawberry syrup if they wanted to add it. He turns, reaching above Rachel to grab two bowls, his hand moving to her back as he slightly leans against her.
Things had definitely been less stressful since their talk with Logan, but it didnât mean everything was fixed either. Just because there was less tension and a little more touching didnât mean the emotions werenât still bubbling under the surface - they were just being contained for the moment. Was that was therapy was about? leaning to contain the feelings? Or was it to get rid of the bad feelings all together? Would he ever be able to not be a little bitter over the whole situation? He shakes away the thoughts as he turns away from Rachel to get their bowls ready. He didnât want to think about it tonight. Tonight was ice cream night.
RACHEL
Sheâs drying her hands when Sam approaches and she smiles a little at the hand on her back. Sheâs missed the casual touches and they seemed to come easier today, but sheâs not sure if its the novelty of their conversation with Logan. Either way, she just hopes it doesnât wear off once they think Logan has stopped looking. And maybe if it does, heâll remind them again. Heâs that kind of kid. Hopefully, the homework assignments will help too. The doctor said theyâre not particularly about talking over whatâs happened to them and why things have gone bad (thatâs what the therapy sessions are for). The homework assignments are more about getting back to things as a couple. Going back to the things that made them fall in love in the first place, the little things. Like spending time together that doesnât revolve around their toddler.
Once her hands are dry, Rachel moves next to Sam to help him with the ice cream. âI think we have sprinkles. And food coloring. And the syrups in the fridge.â The ice cream is white, so turning it all sorts of weird colors would be easy. And fun for the both of them. Thatâs what Dr. Harding had said to do. Try to make it fun for the both of them.
SAM
He turns to look at her, his eyebrow raised. "You mean, you want to add sprinkles and all that? Like we do with Lo-" He sucks in his bottom lip. "Are we allowed to say his name?" He asks before scrunching his nose. "This is weird." He murmurs to himself before putting the ice cream away and grabbing the syrups. He sets them down before looking back at her.Â
"This is a little weird, isn't it? It's not just me? Or is it just me? Maybe I'm just weird." He frowns, moving to grab the other supplies.Â

Closer Pt. 2 || Sam and Rachel (and Logan)

SAM
Sam sets the little boy down, sure heâs in the clear. Loganâs had talked about Bolt and played with the squishy toy since the shop, not bringing up the question again. But as soon as his feet on the ground, heâs running towards Rachel, grabbing at her legs.
âMommy! Mommy! Daddy and I pâay! I was âoker and I lose, but sâokay, Baâman won! and-and-Daddy read me! Whoosh! Bam! andâŠâ His eyes widen. âAnd Daddy say you lost his special thing, Mommy! Why you do that?! Noânice! and datwhy he sad! and gone. but Mommy, mommy, he âill love us.â He nods. âallâisâart!â
Sam wants to groan at his son, who seems better, not crying, but still - did he have to say those words? âI didnât say that, Wolfie, I said that I lost something that was very important to me.â
Logan looked back at his dad, blinked before turning back to his mom. âBut you wost it, right, mommy? Cos no kisses!â He nods, very proud of his deduction. Sam glares at the back of the boyâs head. Were two years supposed to be this smart? He doesnât remember being this smart at two.Â
RACHEL
Logan and Sam were at the shop when Rachel finished up recording for the day. So sheâs in the kitchen, making dinner when they get back. Loganâs excited, the way he always is when he comes back from the store (it bleeds money but theyâre making plenty enough and Rachel canât bring herself to talk to Sam about selling when it makes both boys so happy), attaching himself to her legs.
She wipes her hands clean, picking him up and setting him on her hip. âThe Joker, huh? Well you knew the Joker was going to lose, baby. Thatâs why I always go with Robin.â She lifts the top off of one of the pots, stirring the sauce inside with her free hand while she listens to Logan talk.
Sheâs blindsided by his description of their conversation though. Out of all of the awful things Samâs done since the miscarriage, she never thought heâd come right out and tell their son she was the reason things had gone bad. He clears that up quickly, of course, but Rachel doesnât feel any better. She thought theyâd been okay, that Logan hadnât noticed but he obviously had and she wonders if heâs merely curious or if this is actually hurting him. Either way⊠She shuts off the stove, turning to sit Logan on the empty counter on the other side of the kitchen so that theyâre almost eye level. âYes. I lost it. But I didnât do it on purpose. I didnât want to. At all. It was my special thing too, baby. And Iâm so sorry. But sometimesâŠsometimes things just happen.â
SAM
Sam watches his son and wife interact and feels awful. Maybe he should have just told the boy the truth, that the baby had gotten sick, instead of trying to saying something else. How was he supposed to handle this situation? He didnât know. and when Rachel speaks, he feels even worse.Â
Logan looks at his mom with a frown. âYours too?â He pouts. âNot mine?â
Sam sucks in his bottom lip before he moves towards Rachel, placing a hand on her back. âYeah, Logan, it would have been your special thing too.â
âWhasisit?â
Sam looks towards Rachel, unsure of what to say. âIâŠwellâŠ. ItâŠ. Rache?â
RACHEL
Samâs hand on her back, for the first time in a long time, makes her feel better. When they first got together and got married, he was her rock and up until now, theyâve existed almost as separate entities in the storm thatâs hit their marriage, barely talking or agreeing on anything. At least right now, theyâre both being faced with a really hard question that they canât turn away from.
Logan asks for specifics and Sam seems lost for words, so Rachel braces her hands on Loganâs knees, her eyes focused there when she speaks. âDaddy and I really wanted you to get to be a big brother. ButâŠthe baby got sick while she was still in my tummy andâŠshe had to go be with my Bubbeh instead.â Because Logan asked once why he had Grandparents but Rachel didnât.
SAM
Sam swallows thickly at Rachelâs words, trying to keep from reacting too strongly. He didnât want to scare Logan, who was looking between the two of them, confused.
âYoâwose a baby?â He asked, his eyes getting wide before the other half of it hits, she had to go be with âBubbehâ. âWe go get her!â He says, trying to get off the counter
Sam shakes his head, âNo, baby boy, she got really, really sick andâŠshe⊠had to go to heaven, we canât go get her.â
Logan looks really sad as he stills. âOh.â He looks at his parents and Sam blinks, holding his tears back. Logan notices and leans forward to Rachel. âMommy,â he whispers, âDaddy cryinâ,â
RACHEL
Rachel isnât doing so well either, pressing her lips to Loganâs forehead so he canât see her crying too. âI know baby. Itâs okay. Itâs justâŠshe was our baby. Just like you are. We love her just like we love you andâŠwe miss her. Thatâs all.â She doesnât know if this is hurting more than itâs helping, but theyâd agreed that they would be honest with each other and Logan. âSometimesâŠsometimes crying makes it better. Like going to the potty when your tummy hurts. Itâs okay to be sad sometimes.â âIs?â âYeah. Everybody gets sad sometimes. Even Cap.â
She takes a shaky breath and kisses his forehead again, tucking his head against her neck when he reaches out for a hug before leaning over to wrap his arms around Samâs neck. âSâokay Daddy.â
SAM
Sam wipes his eyes and half-chuckles at Rachelâs comment about going to the potty. He didnât know why, but it was cute and it made him feel better. He sniffles and wraps his arm around Rachel when Logan tries to hug them both. He gets closer to both, kissing the little boyâs cheek before kissing Rachelâs too.
âMommy and Daddy are going to try⊠Daddyâs going to try and not to be so sad though, okay, Logan? And give Mommy lots more kisses.â
âMe too.âÂ
Sam smiles and makes it a point to cover the little boyâs face in kisses, making him squeal with laughter. âNow, Mommy! now mommy!â he laughs.
Sam smiles as Logan gives Rachel a big kiss on the lips and Sam kisses her cheek and neck a few times, making sure to make the obnoxious âkissing soundâ each time.
RACHEL
âMommy too.â Rachel promises. Sheâs going to get better. Theyâre both going to get better. They have to, if for no reason besides Logan (which, incidentally, is the most important reason either of them have anyway). âI promise. Weâre going to do better.â She runs her fingers through Loganâs hair (she should cut it, but she really loves being able to play with it like this).
Rachel laughs, holding Logan still so that Sam can get to him even through his squirming. But they turn on her together and Rachel laughs, kissing Logan back and digging her fingers into his side, laughing and trying to scrunch away from Sam and the way his beard tickles the skin of her neck. âNo, no! Stop! Wait, no fair!â
SAM
Samâs arms wrap around her waist so she canât squirm away, leaving kisses all over her face as Logan laughs before he stops and rests his chin on her shoulder, looking back at Logan. The little boy was laughing and looked happy. He hoped that everything would be okay with him, that he and Rachel hadnât affected him too much or told him too much about the baby orâŠsomething.Â
âLove you, Logan.â
Logan squirms. âLove you, Daddy. I go give Bolt kisses too now?â He asks, reaching out for Sam.Â
âSounds good, let Mommy finish dinner.â he nods before scooping the boy out of Rachelâs arms. He starts to take the boy out of the kitchen before he pauses and turns back to Rachel. âI love you too, âChel.â He tells her before leaning in to kiss her lips.
RACHEL
âI love you, Hero.â Rachel tells her son, leaning in to kiss his cheek before Sam takes him out of the kitchen. âRemember, no kissing Bolt on the mouth. And donât get too messy, because dinner is almost ready.â She runs her fingers through his hair again and is just about to return to the front of the stove when Sam catches her attention, leaning in for a kiss.
Her hands catch the bottom of his shirt when she kisses him back, just barely pulling back at the end of the kiss to whisper, âWeâre going to be okay, right?â
SAM
He brushes his nose up against hers before he pulls back for a second, setting Logan on the ground. âGo find Bolt and Iâll be there in a second. Stay inside.â He warns Logan before the little boy runs off and Sam turns his attention back to Rachel.Â
âBooooooolt,â Logan yells as he begins to look for the puppy (who is probably asleep in one of the rooms - he gets worn out too!)
Sam wraps his arms back around his wife, kissing her cheek before her shoulder. âWeâre going to do whatever it takes to be okay.â He nods before pulling back to look at her. âStarting tomorrow, right? This⊠taking about this is going to help and weâll be⊠weâll do whatever it takes.â
RACHEL
Rachel canât help laughing a little as Logan takes off to look for his now nearly constant companion (Bolt has never once used his puppy bed, sharing with Logan). Heâs adorable. And more than that, heâs a good kid. A great kid and despite how bad things have been, Rachel tries to remind herself how blessed they really are right now, even in the midst of their loss, to have such an incredible child still.
Sam catches her attention again and she folds her arms against his chest, kissing him back and resting her forehead against his shoulder. âI love you. And weâre going to be okay. We canâŠwe can do this.â They havenât broken yet. If theyâve made it this far with so many cracks, trying to fill them wonât make things worse, will it?
SAM
A hand moves up her forearm before lacing his fingers with hers and bringing their clasped hands up to his lips to kiss her knuckles. Things had been horrible, but they were doing the best - well, they were committed to not giving up on it. "We can. For Better or for worse, right?"Â
He kisses the top of her head, pulling her closer. They had to get better, for Logan. And that meant both of them doing things they weren't comfortable with. Well, it meant he would have to start doing things he wasn't comfortable with. "I'm going to stop drinking. And... tomorrow, we'll... I'll... tomorrow, I'll do my best." They both knew that he had a tendency to avoid talking about their problems or any problems at all and going to therapy was all about talking about the problems and putting everything bad in the light and he wasn't too excited about that, but it was necessary and he would try. It might have a few sessions but he would do the best he could.Â

SAM
Sam's arms wrap around her waist so she can't squirm away, leaving kisses all over her face as Logan laughs before he stops and rests his chin on her shoulder, looking back at Logan. The little boy was laughing and looked happy. He hoped that everything would be okay with him, that he and Rachel hadn't affected him too much or told him too much about the baby or...something.Â
"Love you, Logan."
Logan squirms. "Love you, Daddy. I go give Bolt kisses too now?" He asks, reaching out for Sam.Â
"Sounds good, let Mommy finish dinner." he nods before scooping the boy out of Rachel's arms. He starts to take the boy out of the kitchen before he pauses and turns back to Rachel. "I love you too, 'Chel." He tells her before leaning in to kiss her lips. Â

Closer Pt. 1 || Sam and Logan Evans
WHO: Sam and Logan Evans
WHAT: Logan asks his dad a heart breaking question
WHEN: July 1
WHERE: Sam and Mark's comic book store.Â
"Noooo! I'll get yoooo-splat." Logan yelled, dramatically as his action figure fell off the counter he was sitting on. He sighed and kicked his legs. "Ba'man wins again, Daddy."Â
Sam chuckles, ruffling the little boy's hair before setting down his Batman action figure. "'Cos the good guys always win, right?"
"Right! 'Cos they good!" Logan giggles before he leans against his dad.Â
The comic book store is pretty empty, other than one or two teenage boys fingering through the latest issue of their favorite comics. It's a normal day at the store. It had never been bustling with customers, but that hadn't really been the reason he and Mark bought it. Sam had never had a lot as a kid, his family not being able to afford much, but he had always enjoyed going to the comic book store with his dad and picking out a few new issues whenever they could afford it. The trip alone to him had meant more than the gifts he received and when he had enough money, Sam had bought the old shop he had visited the first day in New York. The old owner had been getting ready to sell it back then, but Sam and Mark (who hadn't known each other at the time) convinced the man to keep the shop and when they became "famous", they'd buy it from him. The man had laughed, but (whether it was because of them or not) kept the shop for another two years until Mark and Sam indeed buy the shop from him with the money from their graphic novel. And while it lost more money than it gained, Sam still thought it was worth every penny, everytime he watched Logan move through the store with a "Whoa!" and a "Daddy, Look! BA'MAN!"
But the little boy right now laid quietly against his chest, the batman figurines forgotten about. "You okay, Wolfie?" He asks.
The little boy nods and yawns, causing Sam to look at the clock. Almost naptime - score.Â
"Daddy? You love Mommy no more?"Â
Sam's attention is immediately back on the little boy. "What?" he asks, sure of the fact the little boy did not just ask him that.
"No Love Mommy?" Logan repeats, looking up at him, his fingers moving to his mouth, his eyes sad.
"Of course not, Logan. I love your mommy with all my heart, why?"
The answer is supposed to make the little boy feel better but he begins to sniffle and Sam picks up him, holding him closer to his chest. "Buddy, what's wrong?"
"No love me?!"
Sam squeezes the little boy closer, where the hell is this coming from? "Of course I love you buddy! You're my whole world, why would you ask that?"
Logan gripes at his dad's tshirt as his chest rises and falls rapidly, trying to self control his emotions and failing miserable. "wake up and gone and-and-and no kiss mommy and-and-sad!"
Sam frowns. "Buddy, that's not your fault. or Mommy's fault! Daddy... " Sam sighs, sitting the boy back on the counter pushing his hair out of his face and wiping the little boy's nose with his t-shirt. "Daddy is sad, but that's not your or Mommy's fault, okay?"
"Den Why?"
"Why is Daddy sad?" He asks, trying to buy time, what was he supposed to say? Because Rachel lost a baby? Because his marriage was falling apart? Because.... of everything?
Logan nods, still looking pitiful and Sam leans forward and kisses his head.Â
"Daddy's sad because...." He should really be having this conversation with Rachel around. Why had Logan waited until now to ask? In a public place nonetheless? He looks towards the two boys in the store who still had their noses stuck in comic books. Sam licked his lips. "Daddy's sad because something he wanted really, really bad got... lost and he misses it."
"Fin'it?"
Sam smiles sadly, "I can't, buddy. It's gone forever."
Logan pouts but looks determined. "Nother?"
"Get another?" Logan nods and Sam sighs. "It doesn't work that way, baby boy. It was irreplaceable."
Logan gives him a look that tells Sam he doesn't know what that word means and Sam explains, "you can't get another one. It was special."
Logan sits there and seems to be thinking about it. "Mommy 'ose it? Why no kisses?"
Sam sucks in his lips, unsure of what to say. It was obvious that the lack of affection between him and Rachel had been obvious to the little boy. So much that the boy thought that he didn't love Rachel anymore. and now, he was... God, this conversation was too much. How did he answer that? Because technically, yes, Rachel had lost it, but he couldn't tell Logan that. He scoops up the little boy.
"How about we go talk to Mommy about this okay?"
"But-"
"Come on, guys, shop's closing," He calls out to the kids in the back, not giving Logan time to complain.Â
"Daddy!" Logan huffs before Sam grabs a Captain American squishy toy and hands it to him as he follows the boys out of the store. "Cap'n!" Logan cheers as Sam locks up the store. Maybe Logan would totally forget about the conversation all together by the time they got home.
Watching Thor.
Yep. Making my way through the Avengers movies.Â
Getting Out of the House | Sam & Puck
WHO: Puck and Sam
WHAT: Rachel sets up an adventure for Sam.
WHEN: June 28
WHERE: Who knows?
PUCK
Puckâs head was swimming as he stepped out of the shower. Heâd been asked to take Sam out for the night, and under the usual circumstances heâd be happy to do so. It had been ages since heâd seen the blonde haired nerd so hanging out with him sounded promising, but not this time. This time, Puck knew things were different. There was something neither Rachel nor Sam was telling him and he was just about sick of being kept in the dark. He knew it had been a while and maybe they were a little apprehensive to share with him but if he was gonna be involved, he needed to know everything. Besides, this was Noah Puckerman they were talking to. He could be trusted with anything, no matter how big or small. It actually kinda sucked to learn that neither of them trusted him enough to tell him what the hell was going on. He wrapped the towel around his waist, a new found grumpiness taking over as his mind tried to make sense of what was going on.
He dressed in black jeans and his favourite Blue Oyster Cult shirt, finding it progressively harder to deny himself the anger that kept bubbling inside. Sure, it was their lives and theyâd tell him what was going on if they wanted to, but why didnât they want to. He shook his head, trying to clear his mind as he shaped his Mohawk in the bathroom mirror before spritzing himself with cologne. Grabbing his old and slightly worn leather jacket off the bed, he pulled it on as he headed down the stairs of the house he and Mercedes bought. Mercedes. Puck turned on his heel, jogging down the hall to smash out a short note telling her where he was going. She was at the studio, again, so she probably wouldnât even get home before him, but it was there just in case. He flicked the lights off in the hall as he retraced his way back to the front door and outside.
As always, when he caught sight of his silver Porsche, Puckerman grinned. One of the perks of being CEO of his own company was being able to finally own and drive the car of his dreamsâŠand have a few backups too. He jingled the keys in his hand as he made his way down the path to the driveway. He pulled his phone out and sent Sam a quick text, letting him know he was on his way, before sliding in and starting the engine. The low rumble of the engine made Puck grin again as he pulled out of the driveway and took the familiar path to the Evans household, with music blaring. It took only a few minutes to reach the house and Puck killed the engine upon parking. He pressed the lock button on his keys as he approached the front door, knocking twice and hoping for a moment with Rachel before seeing Sam. Unluckily, it was Sam that opened the door first. Damn. âHey man,â Puck greeted him with the same casual head nod he always had. âYou ready to go?â
Sam
This was the second time that Sam had been given plans without being asked. It wasnât that he didnât want to go out with Puck either, it was just⊠Today hadnât been a good day. Of course, Logan was still head over heels in love and excited over Bolt so that kept Rachel and Samâs most attention, but the news of a therapy session loomed over everything. They were actually doing this. Couples therapy. Marriage therapy? Whatever. Sam wasnât against getting help - he didnât want his marriage to fail - but it felt⊠he didnât understand how things had gotten to this point. And it wasnât like he could talk to his parents about it either. After everything the Evans had been through, Sam couldnât remember a time where his parentsâ marriage ever seemed in trouble. So what did that mean? Were he and Rachel not meant to be together?
Thereâs a knock and Sam races to the door, away from the thoughts and gives Puck a headnod as he opens. âHey, man, âSup?â He says back to Puck before walking inside to grab his coat. It was June, yeah, but you never know with the bars - it could get pretty chilly and it was supposed to rain, he thinks. He doesnât really know. He shoves his hands into his pockets as he makes his way outside, whistling at Puckâs car.Â
âWow, man, this is nice!â He says, looking over the car. You didnât really need a car in New York City, but Rachel and he had one too - something simple, safe for Logan. Nothing like this. Maybe he and Rachel had settled down too soon. Not experienced enough fun before having kids. They didnât have a super fancy penthouse or crazy expensive cars. He shakes away the thoughts. âSo where to?â
PUCK
Puck smiles at Sam, but notices how different he looks. It sounded lame, even just thinking it, but he seemed like less of the guy he knew. Puck knows that life can change people, but there was this weird part of him that always hoped it wouldnât happen.
Puck canât help but grin as he hears Samâs whistle. Aside from his career and his relationship with Mercedes, his car is his pride and joy. âThanks. It cost a lot though, so donât be too jealous.â He clicks the unlock button, walking in front of the car to slip into the drivers seat. âOkay, so thereâs too options. We can hit up this bar in town that has a wicked jukebox and pool tables or we can go to the arcade and smash all the highscores those punks set. Your choice, Evans.â He settles back in his chair, starting the engine as he waits for Samâs decision.
Glancing across at him in the car, Puck sees the signs of stress. He knew Sam quite well back in highschool, and yeah, theyâd fallen out of touch for a while, but he could still tell that Sam wasnât having such a good time. Not only because the everpresent smile that Puck associated with Sam was missing but because of a certain lack of life in his eyes. Puck reaches up to rub his face, willing his brain to shut up.
SAM:
âI bet.â Sam nods before sliding into the car. It was awesome. Bat mobile awesome. Puck was a lucky dude. Puck gives him options and he considers both. While he would normally choose the arcade, because video games = awesome, the bar did have alcohol which had become his new best friend. âPool sounds good.â He says with a nod, before looking out the window. A few drinks and a few games of pool sounded like it could be fun. Getting away from the house with a friend rather than by himself was probably a good idea too.
He stares out the window as Puck drives, stuck in his thoughts. Therapy and Logan. How was Logan handling all of his parents troubles? Was Rachel and heâŠdamaging the kid? He thinks back on his own childhood and canât remember anything too bad. Sure, there were struggles, but had his parents ever acted like this with him or Stacey and Stevie around? Not he could remember. He sighed and look back towards Puck.
âSo howâs business? Mercedes? Tell me whatâs been going on, bro.â
PUCK:
âRight on,â Puck murmured as he pulled out of the driveway and mentally planned their route to the bar. It was Puckâs little secret. He went there when he wanted a get away from work and Mercedes and just life in general, and now he was sharing it with Sam. It kinda seemed like Sam needed a spot just for himself, so why not his bar? Besides, come ball season, Puck anticipated spending many a night in this bar and Sam was gonna be there too - whether he liked it or not.
At Samâs questions, Puck lets out a puff of air, shrugging his shoulders lazily. âBusiness is good, I guess.â Puck isnât really someone who likes to talk about feelings, not his own anyways, but he figures that sharing with Sam may help his friend open up a little bit. âI kinda miss doing the work, yâknow? I miss cleaning the pools and not having the responsibility of the whole company in my hands.â He shrugs again, knowing that itâs such a stupid thing to complain about, running his own company.
âMercedes is good. Sheâs recording another album, surprise surprise.â He gave a small smile, feeling the same wave of pride he always felt wash over him whenever he spoke about Mercedes. His wife was, well, perfect. She was the best thing to ever happen to him and he was forever grateful. âI dunno man, not much happens with me. How about you? How goes it in the land of Sam?â He risks a glance across to Sam.
SAM:
"That's good," He murmurs before looking back out the window. He's not listening as intently as he should. It's not that he's not interested, either. Puck had been one of his best friends in high school, but there's so much going on right now that hearing about pools and music albums just doesn't peak his interest as much as it would.Â
He turns back to see that Puck is waiting for him to say something. Probably about how he was, it only makes sense that Puck would ask about him after he had asked about his family. He shrugs. "Working on the next graphic novel with Mark. Raisin' Logan. You know, simple stuff. Nothing too interesting." He says and it sounds like bull to him. He sucks in his lips before shrugging again. "Rachel and I... we're going through a rough patch, but... it's no big deal. Or it.... it's whatever, you know?"Â
