“Well, the design is nothing I can change - and I hardly dislike it.”  He only disliked the fact it made him come off as shady to others.  “I do understand it’s unusual, though - not many have animal-themed designs to them.”

“Oh, um, sorry! I didn’t mean to imply that it’s bad, I just… Ahah, sorry…” She blinked, rubbing the back of her neck. “I’m Mint, by the way. Sorry again for the random comment.”

“No, I really do understand if it’s strange.  I think there’s only… two, maybe three others who have designs based on others.  At least, that I can think of off of the top of my mind.”  He knew Sheep Man existed, and Snake could never forget Toad Man.  “That’s a bit odd compared to the names my brothers and I have - then again, our names are unusual as it is.  DWN-022 Snake Man.  But I just go by Snake.”

“DWN... Is that... like, some sort of model number? Are you maybe an android of some type?” She hadn’t met an android before with such an unusual designation, though “Snake Man” was simple enough. “Oh! My name is Mint. It’s nice to meet you!”

What appears to be a human and a Majin are sitting at a nearby table, both simultaneously turning their heads her way when she approaches.

“Ah, new Patroller? Welcome to Toki Toki City, amiga.” He raises his burger in salutations. “Don’t freak out. Trunks has a penchant for recruiting first and explaining jack later.”

“Don’t worry too much about it.” Pocus follows up, holding a stupidly huge lollipop. “I’ll give him a punch later. Nice armor, by the way! Spiffy.”

“OH. Um, well, that’s bad then…” She hoped there wouldn’t be any problems in the future with that… Or that they’d figure this stuff out before any damage was done. “So, uh, that means I can’t just tell you what the date was when I last checked and have you send me back then, huh…?”

“Well, I mean– it’d narrow down our search from a hundred trillion to a few billion, I suppose. You gotta remember we’re working with every possibility out there. Every choice everyone in the universe makes is another potential timeline.”

Getting up from the table, Goken went over to her side and patted her on the shoulder.

“Hey, don’t worry about it! Once we know the when, where and how, we can pretty much send you back to the moment you left.” He pauses to stroke his chin. “Actually, taking that into account, you could be gone as long as you like without consequence, I suppose.”

The cyborg blinked before breaking out a bright smile. “R-Really?! I mean, that’d make sense if you guys just send me back to where I got picked up, but... That’s a huge relief!” Mint breathed out a sigh, most certainly in a better mood now that she knew she wasn’t just suddenly gone while things were happening back home.

“H-Huh? Oh, um, thank you! Who’re you?” Mint blushed slightly at the compliment, tilting her head slightly at the Majin.

“I’m Mint! It’s nice to meet you, Hotaru!” The cyborg smiled warmly, giving a nod of her head and folding her hands behind her back.

“Nice to meet you too,” Hotaru smiled back. “So, I’m guessing you’re part of the Time Patrol, since you’re here in Toki Toki City? Or are you just passing through?”

“Ah well, as far as I know, I just got dropped here... I still need to speak with the, um...” What was it again? Oh, right. “The ‘Supreme Kai of Time’, I think? I want to go back to my own time, after all... I’ve got something important I need to do, there.”

“Oh, um, s-sorry, I mean, I noticed at first, but then I… kinda got distracted…” She often jumped the line between “smart” and “stupid”, depending on how excited she was at the time, and she knew it. “But, uh, that makes sense! As long as you’re not causing trouble, I’ve got no beef with you. I mean, it was the plans for Androids 17 and 18 that I was based off of, anyways, so…”

“Huh, so they made you using the old man’s plans…Crafty.” That was honestly surprising, considering the whole issue with the other androids and Goku’s friends years before. “I was around even back when they were. I dunno if you know an Android One, but…”

“Well, we were in need of someone who could stand up to these experimental monsters called ‘Bio-Saiyans’, and the World Government was looking for volunteers for a super soldier project.” She said, placing her hands on her hips before scratching at her head. “I don’t know what may or may not have driven them to use those plans, but... no, I’ve only got data on some of the old androids - what could be salvaged from Gero’s old lab and Android 16, anyways... which wasn’t much.”

She had a bad tendency to underestimate others, in the end, especially if they could hide their power levels or, in this case, didn’t have anything to detect. “I appreciate the offer, but leave it to me! I’m meant to protect civilians, after all!”

“All sorts! Sometimes I stop robberies, protect people from monsters, or even save them from disasters, both natural and not!” If it wasn’t obvious from the get-go, Mint’s enthusiasm for her work made it even clearer that helping people was something she truly enjoyed.

I mean, I was modified differently and by Capsule Corp. to serve as a protector of humanity, but the concept’s the same!”

The thing about the gods over gods over gods… etcetera confused her for a moment, but what she wanted to hear was the part about the Age she was in right now. “Oh, Age 850?! That’s not too far ahead of when I’m from! I had a feeling the rumors of working time machines weren’t just rumors! That should make it easier to send me back, right?”

“Turns out Multiverse Theory was right. That’s why we’ve gotta have a little heart-to-heart with the boss, hun! We gotta know which ‘when’ you came from in order to get you back properly!”
