jaijiu - El Mamado del Auto/Catacumbas Romanas [Los dragones x Maurice Ravel]
You never know what jaijiu will do next! Plaintive Ravel chords over latin pop acapella?! Best of all, they pull it off, it sounds like an AFX ambient remix. Nice.

Erika de Casier - Lifetime
I missed this when it came out, but I'm all in for Erika's triphop revival!
Dataman - Abstrahism
The greatest techno album ever made - fluid, minimal, immaculate rhythmic tweaks, it's not even on Bandcamp, but you can go grab it here on archive, org
Kelela - avatar
Oh my god, this new Kelela is tasty! mk.gee vibes instrumentally, kelela's silky smooth rnb vox atop, total winning combo.
Robyn & Zara Larsson - Talk To Me
100% unashamedly pop music, this new Robyn collab with Zara Larsson is just good, clean fun.
OUST - A Girl Can Dream
Dutch feminist hardcore punk, pure energy and rebellion. Shoot a CEO has the best chorus, simply
"People this rich, Should not exist, Should not exist"
Fuck yes, I'm with em 100%
Drifting Clouds - Rarrandharr
Haven't posted for a couple of weeks cause I moved out of my house and haven't had internet and have been crazy busy painting the local skatepark and speedway! Good to be getting back to SSS, here we go!
Awesome to be hyping a local band on here. Drifting Clouds never sounded like anyone else, they never tried to be rock or reggae, they just made soft synth music that was almost like Yolŋu yacht rock. Anyway, Terry's now gone solo and this sounds like it would fit nicely onto the Top Gun soundtrack circa 1985. Driving synth pop in Yolŋu Matha, this sounds like nothing else out there. Nice!
Disclaimer - I love Eric's Trip so much! So this is like Christmas Day here. This song is has peak ET vibes, bringing Rick, Julie and truckload of distortion back together like it was still the 90s. So good!
Noer The Boy - Powers
Love this groove, love how late that snare is once it drops. Opens up worlds of weirdness! Bass music success.
Swapmeet - Mount Zero
Adelaide band get signed to US indie bosses Winspear and pull all the right moves. The Aussie accents make this really nice, this a rock solid album of easy-listening indie goodness.
Thandii x Regalado - Coco Okayo
Sault collaborators Thandii head to the Philippines and add some Pinoy funk into the mix. The groove is great, the bass pops and their signature super-saturated vocals always hit just right. Can't wait to hear the rest of the album!
Babbling April - All the Shine is Gone
Driving DIY indie straight outta Washington DC. Fuzzy bass, motorik drums and some lovely noisy guitar textures - in short, this rocks.
Random - Arpeggio Springs
After two decades out of the game, Random returns with a how-to-chiptune LSDj masterclass. Respect.
Jetstream Pony - Mitte
Beth Arzy writes the sweetest melodies, this is peak boy/girl jangle pop!
Allan Bryant - Space Guitars
Death Is Not The End just unearthed some seriously weird shit here. Recorded in the 70s, these self-made, amplified stringed instruments (DIY electric guitars essentially) get milked of a whole bucketful interesting sounds. Music, notes, harmony be damned, this is pure sonic exploration, and super cool to boot.
The Bug / Dis Fig - Vanishing
Like an ultra evil Massive Attack, or Tricky doing Basic Channel, this is perfect. Industrial grade Berlin dub meets trip hop chanteuse vibes. Might even be as good as his incredible Grouper collab from years ago.
phoneswithchords - High Up On The Wheel Well
You know when it feels like someone made their master work? This could be it for phoneswithchords. An album about childhood memories, sweet, melancholy and with an incredible attention to detail. It's got the honesty and bedroom folkiness of his first album plus the epic Death Cab style production he's been striving for for the last few years.
And to say he nailed it is an understatement. This isn't for everyone, but those who are drawn to this world are gonna cherish this album for years to come.
Highlights abound, but it's more the way things build and settle, tiny ballads like I Keep Going Back end up as huge walls of noise before petering off into the distance. The way Born goes full shoegaze and it's heavenly. Those saturated warped sounds in The Trucks At Night. They're all master brushstrokes on this transcendent masterpiece.
Incredible album. Respect.
