4/20/14 -- Dottie's True Blue Cafe Breakfast sandwiches on fresh, homemade biscuits & house pancake with cinnamon: sooo good...now understand why the line is so long (go after 2:30pm) (at Dottie's True Blue Cafe)

4/20/14 -- Dottie's True Blue Cafe Breakfast sandwiches on fresh, homemade biscuits & house pancake with cinnamon: sooo good...now understand why the line is so long (go after 2:30pm) (at Dottie's True Blue Cafe)
4/6/2014 -- Bar Crudo Crudo Sampler (4 pieces): fresh, bright. San Sebastián: good take on 'Nicoise'. Head-On Devil Prawns: unctuous. Chowder: heavy goodness. Atmosphere: plain. #supthisup #barcrudo #barcrudosf #headonprawns #unctuous (at Bar Crudo)
3/30/14 -- Mission Beach Cafe brunch is good, really good. Egg Sandwich: great bread & creative fixings. Crab/Shrimp Benedict: rich & cooked just right. Pancake: fluffy & yummy. Worth the wait (within reason) (at Mission Beach Cafe)
3/22/2014 -- 20th Century Cafe Unique bagels: with nigella seeds that taste like a mix between black sesame, poppy seeds & caraway. Very good. Pierogi: homemade with quark cheese & sauerkraut, also very good (bit heavy handed on the plum preserves though). Ambience: light, airy, pleasant. Good daytime spot #supthisup #20thcenturycafe #20thcenturycafesf #uniquebagel #nigellaseeds #pierogi (at 20th Century Café)
3/19/2014 -- The Coachman A bit of a bumpy ride. Potted crab: excellent. Skate fish: salty & over cooked. Soup & Salad: fine. Ambience: warm & well thought out. Location: not ideal #supthisup #thecoachman #thecoachmansf #goodlighting (at The Coachman)
3/15/2014 -- Troya (Fillmore) -- Feta cigars: awesome; zucchini fritters, hallumi skewers and lamb meatballs solid choices; atmosphere: modern & stark - not somewhere you'd want to linger. (at Troya)
2/19/2014 -- AQ -- Food: seasonal ("Winter" right now) & interesting (dungeness crab, salsify, almonds w/ green curry in the background). Atmosphere: exposed brick & floor to ceiling curtains (SoMa style). Yay: celebrating @mcmei8 graduation. #supthisup #AQ #aqsf (at AQ Restaurant & Bar)
2/16/2014 -- Ramen Izakaya Goku -- best veggie ramen! The Veggie Miso Potage Ramen has that creamy, umami goodness, so hard to find in veggie broths. Kakuni Tonkotsu Ramen with pork belly also good, though 'extra spicy' is perhaps a bit too spicy. Service is spotty, depends on the night. #supthisup #ramen #ramenizakayagoku #veggieramen (at Ramen Izakaya Goku)
2/11/2014 -- Antoine's Antoine's opened in the Pleistocene in its current location on St. Louis Street where food was invented. The menu has changed since only insofar as every ingredient has been replaced by butter (pictured). Our server was the drunken ghost of an also-ran Jim Hensen character. A visit to Antoine's is like a third Hurricane: Seems like a good idea until you try it. #supthisup #antoines #butter (at Antoine's Restaurant)
2/10/2014 -- Restaurant August -- John Besh is/has a tasty dish...salad of bruleed goat cheese: refreshing; crab & burrata corn bread tart: sublime; potato gnocchi w/ crab & truffles: had to order seconds -- one wasn't enough. And points for best bathroom wallpaper: his favorite menus from French Michelin starred restaurants #supthisup #restaurantaugust #nola (at Restaurant August)
2/10/2014 -- Commander's Palace Restaurant Atmosphere: Venerable. Service: Doting. Menu: Pithy. Wine: Superlative. Overall experience: more interesting than good. The Garden District location is enchanting. Vegetarians should not show up hungry. (at Commander's Palace)
2/9/2014 -- NOLA Savory is as savory does. Shrimp, grits, fried freshwater drumfish--assume that whatever you order, it will be be prepared--expertly--as a conduit for an ambrosial brew. Portions, while civil, render appetizers unnecessary. This was a five-star meal at a four-star price. (at NOLA)
2/8/2014 -- Killer Po' Boys Killer, indeed. Plump, juicy shrimps with radish, cucumber, shredded carrot and 'special sauce.'. Served proper in a cardboard tray in the rear of a divey bar off Bourbon Street (Erin Rose). It's a good roll shy of perfection. (at Killer Po-boys)
2/7/2014 -- SF Beer Week Gala Safe to say that many fine ales were consumed at the SF Beer Week opening gala. (Also one India pale lager, whatever that is.) Detailed descriptions of each are available to premium subscribers. [This photo was taken on Brannan Street *and* has Instagram's Brannan filter applied.] #supthisup #sfbeerweek #beer
2/2/2014 -- Pelican Inn Welcome to sixteenth century Gloucestershire. While the pub grub is serviceable (bangers, mash, fish, chips), the real draw is the utterly thorough change of scenery. Hunkered down in the tiny, dim pub-room it's not difficult to imagine that William of Orange is among those at the next table planning his invasion in hushed tones. A second pint is known to heighten this effect. Low ceilings, leaded glass, exposed rafters, darts, candles, copious dark wood, friendly barkeep--no hint that you might be missing the Super Bowl. One disappointing note: Only one draught English ale at the time of our visit (Fullers ESB). We would happily pay a bit more for a Tetley's or a Watney's or a Wadworth. #pelicaninn #fullersesb #tudor (at Pelican Inn)
2/1/2014 -- The Sycamore Daytime pints at a Mission favorite. Loved Ellie's Brown Ale from Avery Brewing (Boulder). Taps rotate frenetically (so visit often). Look for raucous tap takeovers here next week! #thesycamore #averybrewingco #sfbeerweek (at The Sycamore)
2/1/2014 -- Sparrow Bar & Kitchen Saturday Brunch on the back patio on Haight. Fine eggs as far as eggs go. Seems like under-cooked eggs are a thing right now. Fingerling potatoes are nice. (at Sparrow Bar and Kitchen)
