the youngest archon of the seven nations of teyvat. gentle and modest in nature, nahida presides over the nation of sumeru–or at least she would if it weren’t for the akademiya locking her away in the sanctuary of surasthana. after the death of her predecessor greater lord rukkhadevata and subsequently her birth, the akademiya decided that they could not possibly be led by her and thus began her isolation. plagued by self-confidence issues, coupled with a large majority of her nation not even being aware of her presence, nahida finds herself unworthy to lead them, but this does not mean that she does not try to be with them regardless. though her wisdom is sorely lacking in comparison to rukkahdevata, her own intelligence is nothing to be scoffed at…even if she is a little socially awkward because of it.

人形 - "Judging by the look on your face, you know what I wanted to talk about." A flash of memories like he had gone home, but also had remained in place. An ending that never came, and a chance to move on for those that remained behind. "You remember too, don't you? What happened with Irminsul..."

"But that doesn't matter for those of us who are trapped here, right? Dottore is still here."

Experiencing memories that had yet passed in their homeworlds was a common enough occurrence here for most people. Nahida isn't surprised at Wanderer approaching her about it. She's also certain that it won't be the last time, either. "All of it, yes. As if it all happened in some weird sort of dream…" But she knew that it wasn't, she knew how dreams felt.

"If we know what happened, then he must know too. I highly doubt it's tempered his ambitions, either." Even if he was hardly a threat, there was still always going to be that lingering worry… "More importantly, are you okay? How do you feel? Hopefully not ready to do something drastic."

i couldn't have asked for a better ending for the most recent patch so it's a win for me, nahidalover999 and her beautiful son

still have a lot of thoughts about her relationship w/ dottore but i still think there's something to be said that she never accepted him but did at least acknowledge him as her arch-enemy and that's the best way it could've ended! mostly importantly wanderer called her by her name and nobody made a big deal out of it but it was big deal TO ME

"Fascinating," She'd only ever heard of beings so advanced, but never met one in person. Whatever it was, she'd love to know more. "--Yams?" There's a snrk that follows. Not the answer she'd been expecting, but an entertaining one all the same.

"Let's make a deal, in exchange for food that isn't found on the floor, I'm allowed to ask a few questions about you sometime soon. I promise I'm a good cook, so it'll be worth your while."

人形 - "If you're hunting for eggs, why not just raise a chicken? They have them in the grocery store too, you know? They're not exactly hard to find."

"I don't think chickens are suited to a desert climate. Plus, those aren't the kind of eggs I mean! Haven't you seen plastic ones hidden around? They're also supposed to have things hidden inside them like candy, money, or other little trinkets! It's a cute tradition."

"An egg hunt sounds so fun! A nice change from everything going on recently. It just might be worth looking into!"

人形 - "Don't read into this too much. These were just pushed off onto me, and I don't have anyone else to give them to." He dropped a small bag of chocolates into the Archon's hands, and then adjusted his hat. "I don't care for sweets at all, nor do I deserve them."

"So they're better off going to someone that will appreciate them."

"But it's such a big bag! How am I supposed to enjoy them all by myself? I couldn't possibly finish it alone!" Sure, she'd be able to appreciate them just fine, but wasn't candy best shared among friends? or something of the like.

everyone constantly choosing violence with dottore is so funny when nahida is just trying to appeal to him through calculated mental chess games and acts of service. surely giving him chocolate will make the murders stop.

"I'm gonna make a world like no one else and it's gonna be yours and nobody can take it, nobody can take it back from you and it's gonna be good"

人形 - "Hah. What went down in Nod-Krai wasn't that bad. I have my fair share of experience with false gods, after all." The puppet had his regrets. He didn't regret rescuing the Traveler, but not being able to participate in the final battle... Well, there was no point in pretending he could have changed anything. Not when the formula's activation was dependent on him being in the state he was.

Either way, that was his attempt at dodging a proper response to her kindness. It still didn't feel right for people to talk to him like that. Like they missed him.

"The Doctor is...? That so?" Wanderer could have gotten angrier about that news. Dottore was "dead". That was the conclusion he'd drawn from Nod-Krai's finale. But there had been a feeling eating at the back of his head that he couldn't ignore. Her smirked instead of getting angry. "He's weakened, right? He probably won't be that much of a problem for now." But if the Dendro Archon was telling him this, then it was likely that...

"...You spoke with him, didn't you? He didn't harm you, did he?" That was his way if asking if she was okay.

Not that bad, he says, as if she and the other nations hadn't begun preparing for the worst if Nod-Krai fell to Dottore's influence. Sending him there, too, had caused her nothing but worry. This brief respite of knowing he was safe would soon pass, too, she thinks. Wherever Dottore existed, Wanderer was sure to want to confront him. She understands why, but even still…

"He is." Weakened, that is. "He may not be an issue, but I don't feel that we should write him off entirely, either." Someone as keen as Dottore could prove to be formidable despite his limitations. It would be a mistake to underestimate him.

"I did." She had to. Leaving Dottore as he was without so much of a warning wouldn't have been wise. Her reluctance to resort to violence had, perhaps, been a bit of an issue, however. "No, we simply had a chat. I, in not so many words, warned him that he should be careful. Whether or not he actually heeded my warning remains to be seen. Only time will tell." But more importantly-- "I know you don't plan to idly sit by."

So it was true that the god of Wisdom resided within the desert, and a wave of relief washed over him when he realized that his journey had not been for naught. The desert bore painful memories for him and was an area he would avoid under normal circumstances, but being granted the opportunity to converse with Lesser Lord Kusanali once again was too big to pass up due to cowardice. How poetic it was in a way, that her home felt like an oasis within the harshness of the environment.

The Doctor did not revere her, and most certainly did not bow to her, but as a scholar and Sumerian, he did hold a sliver of respect for the Dendro Archon. And yet she rejected him, just like her people did.

He simply nodded at her unconventional greeting, feeling that a word too much could tip the scales against him. Lesser Lord Kusanali was different from the people he had encountered so far, to the effect that she could match his intellect and knew how to hold herself in a debate without resorting to shallow insults. For that alone, the Doctor met her with goodwill.

Besides, their last conversation, albeit some time in the past, had been most stimulating and she proved herself to be a fair partner.

“Much obliged,” he spoke with the same calmness, although it was impossible to tune out the arrogance in his voice entirely, following her inside. “Be assured I have come with no intention of harming you, for that you have my word.” And by now she should know how much that was worth; the Doctor always held up his end of the bargain. “I came simply to see if the rumours were true that you live out here, and if so, have a little chat with you. Am I not one of your subjects per definition? Would you not spare me a few moments of your time?”

Perhaps his assertion that he, too, was a subject of hers had been true in the past. Maybe he had even been devoted to her at one point in his life as all Sumerians were, but that had long since passed. What was left standing in front of her was a man who was willing to risk everything to achieve his own ambitions. "I believe a chat is exactly what we need to come to an understanding." Nahida knew that she had to deal with him carefully.

She leads him up the walkway and into her home, closing the door behind them as they went. As soon as he's through the door, Nahida begins her work of ensuring they have a proper conversation, one that he can't run away from. A hand raises, and her eyes begin to glow. Vines snake their way across the door, effectively bolting shut one of his only escape routes. Insurance, he must understand.

Nahida takes a seat at the kitchen table in front of them, motioning to the seat across from her once she's settled. "I think we both know that it's not a matter of if but when, concerning your ambitions." It was obvious that he wouldn't just idly stand by, nor would he let his lack of an arsenal stop him. If it were any other person, it might be impressive, even.

"But you must understand something about this city, Doctor: it's a waste of time to stick to your conventional methods." Simply disposing of people, that is. "And there are plenty here that outrank you, as it is. But surely…you've already begun considering your options, right?" It'd be strange if he hadn't. Dottore had always been resourceful, for better or worse. She didn't expect such facts to stop him, but figured that it was worth stating them regardless. Plus, they were more warnings rather than simply statements on her part.
