A young Florida gangster from the 80s sees a sleek middle-aged man from the 50s in an alley, a manic energy in his eye, and thinks:
''This boy is queer and crazy.
I'm going to fuck him tonight.''

“The Venus in Furs”
‘Portrait’ of Lou Reed, inspired by the song “Venus in Furs” of The Velvet Underground, written by Reed.
“Xkokonché”
Mayan woman listening the song of a Xkokonché (Mockingbird).
“I know why all your songs are so sad, yes, I know
You’re singing the sufferings of Yucatán, sweet Mockingbird”
(“Dulce Xkokonché”, traditional song of Yucatan)
Our past as mayans is full of pains, slavery and suffering; but we’re still here. For our 500 hundred years of resistance.
A XXI Century Mexican Classical Philologist. Self-portrait.
“Satellite of Love”
I was sketching when my playlist started “Satellite of Love” by Lou Reed, so… yeah, this happened.
I like to share a couple of quotes from two of the four biographies of Lou Reed I’ve been reading for a very special project, ‘cause those are the ones to blame for the inspiration 🤭
“The studio lovefest, as well as the public displays of affection, prompted rumors that Reed and Bowie had fallen in love. True or not, it was a rumor perfectly suited to the times.” - Anthony DeCurtis (“Lou Reed: A Life”)
“‘David always went after the people he admired, that he thought he could learn something from’, says his then wife Angie Bowie. […] ‘I think there might have been something going on. I don’t know. Lou probable went after him; I believe that’, says Bettye who, like Angie, felt left out. ‘Lou kind of fall in love with him a little bit. He would fall in love with anybody that was really crazy about him.’” - Howard Sounes (“Notes from the Velvet Underground: The Life of Lou Reed”)
Ps. I’ll also leave the sketch, ‘cause I really love it, hehe 🙃

“Berlin ‘76” - David Bowie & Iggy Pop
Just an illustration in honor to this two rock idols and their beautiful friendship.
“Corona Civica” - Julius Caesar & Nicomedes IV
During his time in Bithynia, Julius Caesar received the “Corona Civica”, the highest honor a roman citizen could get, for saving the life of a fellow soldier risking his own. This was during the battle after the siege of Mitilene, while he was in a relationship with the king of Bithynia, Nicomedes IV. Caesar was sent to the king to get a Naval Fleet and ended living with him for three years, even when the battle was some months after we arrived… So this illustration came because I just love that part of History 🤭
The macedonian prince and the young athenian.
Originally I wanted to draw something about the fashion differences between de south and north of Ancient Greece but this came out 🤭🤣
I also wanted to draw young king Alexander II of Macedonia (brother of Philip II and uncle of Alexander the great) because I noticed that No one draws or speaks of him, and Amyntor (or Amintor) father of Hephaestion who is believed was from anthenian origin. So, I think that’s it.
Will it be a good idea work in a webcomic about Ancient Macedonia and the Argead Dynasty? 🤔
