Honesty

Sometimes I really wonder why we cannot stick to the promises we make to other people and fail to live upto our words. Is that what makes us human or does that just make us insincere?

Blah!

8 weeks ago I was deliriously happy because I took a leap of faith and broke down all my walls. It felt like the most liberating and natural thing to do. Emotionally I felt invincible and everyday was something to look forward to like the feeling you get when you receive an assorted box of chocolates. 6 weeks later something snapped and I'm afraid things are never going to be the same again. I am trying to be patient, understanding and tolerant but this is probably the worst place emotionally that I have found myself in since AJ. I'm gonna give it till the end of this year before I do anything drastic. I've got a sinking feeling in the pit of my tummy and I feel hopeless, lost, dejected and above all hurt and it sucks 😔

Wisdom for Life

This is something I came across on FB which made so much sense so wanted to share it with you. "As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let us down, probably will. You'll have your heart broken and you'll break others' hearts. You'll fight with your best friend or maybe even fall in love with them, and you'll cry because time is flying by. So take too many pictures, laugh too much, forgive freely, and love like you've never been hurt. Life comes with no guarantees, no time outs, no second chances. You just have to live life to the fullest, tell someone what they mean to you and tell someone off, speak out, dance in the pouring rain, hold someone's hand, comfort a friend, fall asleep watching the sun come up, stay up late, and smile until your face hurts. Don't be afraid to take chances or fall in love and most of all, live in the moment because every second you spend angry or upset is a second of happiness you can never get back."

Maybe sometimes, we are the ones breaking our own hearts. We walk into a situation, get attached to someone all by choice. And then we let them break our hearts, because we’re the ones who gave them the opportunity to.

Friendship

Lasting friendships are both a rare and tricky thing. People come into our lives for all sorts of reasons. Some are there to teach us a lesson, some to help us with something we might be struggling with at the time and others come into our lives for eternity and don’t leave our sides. They stay fiercely loyal to us, make time for us and enrich our lives just by being part of it.

I am a softy, despite my tough exterior and the fact that I'm always outspoken. Sometimes the world really doesn't make sense and people disappoint you but you've got to keep the faith and trust that everything will be alright.

The Good Chain

A bunch of individuals have got together to do something about all the online and offline religious intolerance and hate that has been going around the country over the past year. They did not want to take to the streets with placards to show how they feel, instead they came up with The Good Chain.

Their idea is basic and simple!

The four main religions of Sri Lanka all use prayer beads.

Catholics use the ‘Rosary’

Buddhists use the ‘Nawa Guna Wela’

Muslims use the ‘Tasbih’

Hindus use the ‘Rudraksha Mala’

The Good Chain unites them as one.

We are all different in shape, size and colour; this chain represents exactly that and stands for nothing but good.

They believe that the idea of the good chain is bigger than Sri Lanka and can stand for all the good that people are craving for in this world.
