We Say Goodbye
They say that all good things must come to an end,
That what will be will be, and that time won’t bend
Whether love runs dry and leaves something to be missed,
Or brought to its knees by Death’s harsh kiss
That no matter how hard we fight or try,
In the end, we say goodbye.
A sweet, kind girl, truly filled with magic,
What happened to her was simply tragic
Captured by wild red hair and blue doe eyes,
A love that she thought would never die
But even love cannot deflect a bullet spray,
So we say goodbye, Tara Maclay.
A hardworking surgeon, a doting wife,
A woman who overcame all hardships in life
Falling in love with blonde hair and a smile,
Unknowing that they wouldn’t survive every mile
And so she leaves, a move even she couldn’t guess
So we say goodbye, Callie Torres.
A shy, awkward girl who came out of her shell,
A girl who refused labels and lived her life well
Her beloved could sing and make her laugh,
But she loved herself back on her behalf
Unable to win her love, and keep her feelings withheld,
So we say goodbye, Amy Raudenfeld.
Perfect red curls, and a loyal best friend,
Always keeping up with fashion and trends
Her love for green eyes was deep in her core,
She realised too late who she was destined for
Leaving us now with memories fond and smile soft,
So we say goodbye, Karma Ashcroft.
A British accent and a wicked tongue,
The epitome of delinquency and eternally young
A desire and passion for only one other,
Her tempting beauty, her meant to be lover
Centuries of love ended with fire and pleas,
So we say goodbye, Mary Louise.
A devious, playful smirk, a sultry manner,
An impossibly beautiful face, no one like her
Yet she promised herself to her loyal, lovely girl,
The one she always wanted, a perfect British pearl
She sacrificed herself, and closed a lifetime’s drawer,
So we say goodbye, Nora.
Loyal to her friends, protector of all,
It is a great shame when a healer does fall
Somehow she found love among apocalypse and death,
Yet she was unable to declare it before her last breath
In a world filled with sadness, she at last found her peace,
So we say goodbye, Denise.
Though devious and sinful, still she was caught,
Falling in love despite what she was taught
Luisa was alluring, Luisa was mad, but she was her path,
Head over heels for the girl she couldn’t have
Betrayed but still loved, it was her that you chose,
So we say goodbye, Rose.
Ever courageous and never afraid,
Loved by so many and always brave
You could fix anything, but not always your heart
Even a medic needs practise at that art
But your love didn’t want to let you go that fateful day,
So we say goodbye, Leslie Shay.
A flourishing scientist with a careful mind,
Her world was transformed when love left her blind
Her bouncy, clever girl forever changed her, body and soul,
But then the game changed, and so did her role
A shot from a gun stole her life away,
So we say goodbye, Delphine Cormier.
A strong leader, powerful and bold,
Her beautiful space girl, her heart did she hold
Blue eyes meeting green was an impossible fate,
Yet their love was so powerful, it transcended Heaven’s Gate
Never forgotten, her memory goes on as Clarke protects her,
So we say goodbye, Heda Lexa.
We say goodbye yet their legacies will never die,
They will live on through you and me
We continue their stories, with art, with poems, even letters,
As we carry the message that they deserved better
So you can kill off our characters, try to destroy our hope,
But you will always be remembered as a tired, old trope.
But they will never be dead to us; we’ll keep them alive,
And for better storylines we strive
Representation is important, this you’ll soon realise,
So until that day, keep your bad writing and keep your bad lies
We want stories that don’t break hearts and leave disappointed sigh,
So we say goodbye.
omg I haven't reblogged in a while, but it's sailing

I know the night is not the same as the day: that all things are different, that the things of the night cannot be explained in the day, because they do not then exist, and the night can be a dreadful time for lonely people once their loneliness has started.
